Where do you turn the unit on at? Guess I missed it.

If you could have a Smoke X4 or Signals, which would you choose??
@scubamage5 жыл бұрын
Can you set more than 1 channel to PIT? We have a pellet smoker, and there can be a massive temperature difference between one end of the grate to the other. It would be nice to track the two separate zones continuously when I have multiple things cooking across them.
@brianjohnson13005 жыл бұрын
You can get two of the ambient temp probes and set them up on two of the four channels. If you have that much space and cooking that much meat you’d probably have more than one of these devices and can setup as many ambient probes as you like.

I have the smoke and like it. This is a great looking wifi charting thermometer. It's good to have options. I usually stay close to the cook I like having a remote with me without tying up my phone. Plus still use my phone camera. I have Thermoworks Stack timer and love it, but I wish these things had a timer built in. Nice review.
@StokedOnSmoke5 жыл бұрын
Yep...a built in timer in these units would be awesome.

its not gonna tie up your phone at all. you know how when your done looking through facebook you close the app and when you open it back up facebook is still right there. same thing, this thing is just an app

Good report. However, I would have really liked to have seen the graphics. You teased but didn't show. Thanks

I have a couple questions, will the app support more than one unit and will it operate while it’s being charged?

Thanks for the review! For the recteq Bullseye, any idea if riot mode will damage the probes, since the prove max temp is 700 degrees, and the riot mode gets the pit to 750 + degrees.

Now when are you going to review the Billows ATC fan.
@StokedOnSmoke5 жыл бұрын
Ha! I have one in my possession and hope to get a review filmed this weekend and will prob post next week sometime :)
@je110925 жыл бұрын
StokedOnSmoke that’s great. I’m looking for a new remote thermometer as well as a ATC. The Signals is a bit pricey but with the Billows it’s actually cheaper than a Flameboss 500 or CyberQ. It would be great if it works as well as advertised and comparable to the other ATCs. I look forward to your review.
@j7772 жыл бұрын
You might want to get in the habit of using channel 4 for the pit in case you ever use the Billows
@rustykc5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the review! I personally can't wait for Thermoworks to come out with their own version of the Cyber que... I just hope they give us the option to plug in more probes! Four ports is great but.... if we had the ability to plug in more THAT would be amazing!

I've been thinking the same thing for YEARS!! LOVE their products so much...but wanna see a fan controller!!!

Which channel is for the smoker temp. My channel 2 is stuck in a brisket and is reading 190 degrees.
@dirtrider884 жыл бұрын
then the brisket is 190 degrees. its doesnt matter what probe you stick in which channel. its just a device that reads the temp of the probe. it doesnt care what shape the probe is or what the probe looks like.

Looks much nicer than the iGrill2 which I currently own. Frustrated with the probes.

I have 8 Thermoworks pro probes and 5 of them have developed pitting on the barrel. Thermoworks says, "Too bad, the warranty is 6 months and you are out of luck." I have 6 other probes with other temp manufacture units in use for over 5 years and NONE OF THE PROBES have any pitting. Only Thermowork probes are made of substandard materials.

@@jqmachgunner2577 What units do you recommend?
@jqmachgunner25773 жыл бұрын
@@stephenshea9029 I use the Thermoworks Smoke™ Remote BBQ Alarm Thermometer, Smoke X4™ Long-Range Remote BBQ Alarm Thermometer, and Signals™ BBQ Alarm Thermometer with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® Wireless Technology. The basic Smoke unit is very reliable the cheapest, especially if the go on sale. Beware that the internal battery used in the Signals unit is crap so I keep power to it all of the time using the USB as it dies very quickly and the battery IS NOT RELIABLE. Other than that, they generally are reliable and accurate. Be sure to check your calibration periodically using the ice baths and boiling water methods. BTW, Thermoworks temp probes are more fragile than others and can develop tiny holes so keep them clean after using them. Thermoworks tends to weasel out from being responsible, but overall, their stuff works well enough, even for commercial smokes.
