My biggest change in response from people was definitely coming at it with the mindset of I’m here to help people instead of trying to make the sale. I definitely hate when people knock on my door so I had a really hard time at first getting out there because of the feeling of being that “sleazy sales man”. You definitely changed my whole experience to now this is my favorite job I’ve ever done.

Adam Bens…..I’m new to roofing sales and I’ve been saturating everything I possibly can from you. Welcome to the channel and the industry! Learning a whole new product to sell is a different animal. And the first few months of roofing sales are the hardest. "Do you have any objections to getting a second option on your roof?" I used that question all the time. It worked great as a closing question when I did 6 years of tempur sales. Really learned about that kind of question from Chris Voss never split the difference.

Hey Damon! Great to have you here. A LOT of my free content is applicable to all types of sales. I get email from people using my stuff for solar, windows, and even kitchen/bath remodels. That being said, my paid programs are rather roofing specific, so I'm not sure if they'd be the best fit for you. You would have to modify your language etc. to work for gutters. Great question. These 3rd party lead sources can be hit or miss. Some contractors are crushing it with them while others feel it's a total waste. Upside, costs can be low. Worth a shot. Downside is, the leads are tough to land because they are farmed out to multiple contractors. Also, NOT being exclusive means you won't be able to retarget the lead with digital advertising efforts because the lead came through a web source you don't own/control. In general, I'd prioritize other avenues for my personal marketing dollars. But if you're already doing everything else - then it can't hurt to try. As they say, if it ain't broke - don't fix it.

@@TheRoofStrategist Thanks for the reply. We do an in-home sales presentation/demo and I have noticed more bad reviews coming from Thumbtack in regards to the sales process, unlike other lead gen sources.
