Absolutely true! I dont always have a progress adjust on me and the cowstail would be just loose. Looking back while editing I saw that the swing to clip back in was actually more difficult because I could not "swing back" to gain a bit of momentum. It cost me more power this way. I would say pull it tight enough to statically clip back in, or loose enough to get that small swing. Later I got the question if I would clip back in in real life and the answer is a most definite no. Not with a single deviation 😜

Great video! You noted in another comment that you would not reclip in a single deviation but I presume would in a double. Why is that? (Forgive the ignorance, arborist that loves your videos)

The theory is that a single deviation is only used to position for a work spot. A double one is used to protect against a hazard. So with a double one unclipping and dropping straight down would not be possible.
