Regular Show has always been an adult comedy! Don't be fooled by its later episodes as Cartoon Network had to make it more "family oriented" which meant cutting away lines like "holy crap", "Benson's going to lose his balls when he sees this!" And "you pissed me off"! With Close enough, JG Quintel got the freedom to be as adult as possible!!!

That's because Regular Show was made for Adult Swim in the beginning and some episodes were already made for it, but for some reason I don't remember it was moved to Cartoon Network and the episodes were changed a bit to apply to the audience.

One thing that I love about Close Enough is that they wrote Candice as a kid. Not an adult in a kid's body where being a kid is the joke, Candice IS a kid. One of my favorite episodes featuring her was when Josh and Emily got a robot tutor for Candice and she was actually struggling with school, maybe its ADHD, maybe its something else, I'm not sure, but when Emily unknowingly insulted Candice, Candice was actually upset as to how a kid would be upset. And near the end when she tried to blow the computer up, she struggled in her own way to problem solve.

I’d say Close Enough just needs a little bit more time to find it’s footing. I love the main family, but the interactions with others characters just isn’t as interesting or funny as the one’s from Regular Show. But again, with sometime they’ll definitely refine other characters more and make them stand out like Benson, Muscle Man, Etc.

One thing I was afraid , was if they would use the adult humor to throw all kinds of curses, sex, drugs and gore just for the shock value, I'm so glad they didn't went that route, there are situations where the characters hold back and look unconfortable around stuff like that, like that scene where Josh was embarassed that the skate shop guy misunderstood what he said in front of his kid, it's more natural behavior.

While Regular Show is one of the most iconic shows to ever exist as it basically saved Cartoon Network from their stupid live action era for standing out from the other cartoons. Close Enough Might be Close enough to break the trend of most adult shows who follow the trend of: Has to have disgusting things, sex jokes and extreme violence. So... I dunno! I really don't like Mcfarlane style comedy, especially how its just focuses on toxic families. What if the entirety of Regular Show is just Cadence's own little imaginary world. Think about it, there is animals acting like people like Mordecai and Rigby but then there is things like deer, skunk, etc. That actually act like real animals. This is inconsistent like a child's imaginary world would be. There are points in Close Enough that shows Candence drawing mordecai in the chalk. Also, Mordecai is voiced be J.G. I just wanna say watched both and so far there both awesome if you love the regular show you will most likely love close enough maybe even more. Also I love the fact this feels like how space ghost coast to coast started first on cartoon network as a action cartoon then a news talk show "cartoon planet" then moved on to adult swim this is kinda like it but i think close enough moved to HBO instead of adult swim but honestly I think adult swim did not take this cartoon cause they knew it could makeit on HBO and be funnier there being allowed to do more.

Eh, I might consider if the staff manages to include Regular Show characters in an episode. Not necessarily in a cross-over type of thing, but as long as they include Regular Show characters.

I swear to god, if there isn’t an episode where the group encounter some timeline shit/ issues and they find the regular show characters. Maybe not like an episode dedicated to the regular show group but like, a scene where they (e.g.) appear in the park and see Rigby and Mordecai playing with garden hoses, meant to be working, and then Close Enough characters just appear, ask questions, and then disappear just before Benson is running towards them to say “YOU’RE FIRED!”

AT&T have invested wisely in purchasing Warner media. They're poised to become Disney's biggest competitor. They've got a lot of anticipated content to drive up subscriptions. I watched episode one of close enough on KZbin and liked it. I would definitely be tempted to subscribe based on the quality that episode

Never heard of "Close Enough", but because of this video I think I'll check it out. It seems funny. You hit the nail on the head with your Adult Swim comment. One show I still think is SAVAGELY underrated is Venture Bros. I almost NEVER see anyone mention it when they talk about awesome Adult Swim shows and it's one of their longest running shows if I'm not mistaken.

Growing up watching regular show. Growing old watching close enough. Life is kinda great
