41 y.o. here, ex rugby player and boxer, running since I was a kid and I have to admit that I'm experiencing the most successful runs since I've added yoga and breathing exercises almost one year ago. I managed to smash my pb on 5k and 10k (lasted 15 years), no major injuries and I recover quickly from the little ones I sporadically have. Will perform yoga and pranayama for the rest of my life.

Yoga is incredible for running performance- it’s restorative post run while also maintaining stride length. I swear by it.

It helps a lot. I like to cool down with it after a run. Makes the run easier the next day.

I absolutely love yoga, I only do it 1-2x a week, but it helps my running and horseback riding, as well as just making me feel loose and calm.

I love yoga! I just recently started running. I try to nose breath when I'm running but I always end up getting a runny or stuffy nose when I run. What can I do???
@alexandrarosen17853 жыл бұрын
Hi Kelly! It is common for your nose to become runny when just starting out. It still happens to me sometimes. It can take anywhere from 6 weeks-6 months to get used to it. Start slow. Maybe only try a few breathes through your nose every mile and then slowly work up from there. Another great way to get used to it is to do activities such as yoga that are slower and allow you to give more focus to your breath. I hope that helps! (:

I find that nasal strips help. I usually get a runny nose too.

There’s no way I breath out of my nose when running. It’s like breathing through a straw. Only for easy runs. I don’t want to do yoga more.

You'll eventually build enough strength in your diaphragm to not feel that. Please try to do adnominal breathing.

She is actually teaching things wrongly. Please check out other yoga videos. The method is called 'Anulom vilom' (alternate nostril breathing)

I just finished my morning run and I am fuming. I had set my jacket and water bottles in our neighborhood gazebo, I use it as a checkpoint so if I pass it and really feel like I need some water it is right there for me. I finished my run and was very much anticipating my water but when I get to the gazebo somebody had thrown all my stuff in the garbage and not only threw out my water but took the time to empty it all out before throwing it away. Whoever you are I hope you are as miserable of a person as I imagine you to be.
