This is Great Video for Ben Wallace 💯Much respect to y'all for this...Big Ben Wallace represented for all of the brothaz who had to really grind out more than the average to live out his dreams but he definitely toook the opportunities that he was given and never looked back... Being from Detroit I didn't know what to expect when the Pistons traded for Ben Wallace in that sign and trade deal w/Grant Hill who was a Legend here in just 6 seasons...Big Ben quickly became the City favorite in just 2 seasons..I just remember how lit the City was when the 2004 Pistons went on that great Championship run! Ben Wallace will always be loved by us Detroiters and he's part of the City and the Great Culture we have here👌🏿 Salute

"Big Ben" Ben Wallace was incredible string rebounder, heck one of a select few men strong ennough to stop "The Diesel" Shaquille O'neal from dunking! He alone was the one I was taken back when his Pistons defeated the dynasty Shaq & Kobe Lakers for the NBA championship 2004. He had my MVP vote for sure (Still I was might sad that Karl Malone did nor get his more then well earned ring). I felt it was miss that he left the Pistons for the Bulls and then the Cavaliers, but he at least came back to finnish his career with his team! I always love people stories of those who through hard and honest work and determination goes from rags to riches. He deserves all rewards indeed!!! # 17 NBA seasons - representing 4 NBA teams: Washington Wizards (1996-1999), Orlando Magic (1999-2000), 2x Detroit Pistons (2000-2006/2009-2012), Chicago Bulls (2006-2008) & Cleveland Cavaliers (2008-2009). # NBA champion 2004 + Finals 2005. # 4× NBA All-Star player: 2003, 2004, 2005 & 2006. # 3× All-NBA Second Team: 2003, 2004 & 2006. # 2× All-NBA Third Team: 2002 & 2005. # 5× NBA All-Defensive First Team: 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 & 2006. # 1x NBA All-Defensive Second Team: 2007. # 4× NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award: 2002, 2003, 2005 & 2006. # 2× NBA rebounding champion: 2002 & 2003. # 1x NBA blocks champion: 2002. # No. 3 retired by Detroit Pistons. # Cover player for the NBA 2K5 video game. NBA LEAGUE RECORDS: 1. Only player in NBA history to record 1,000 rebounds, 100 blocks, and 100 steals in 4 consecutive seasons (2001-2004). 2. One of three players in NBA history to record 150 blocks and 100 steals in 7 consecutive seasons (2001-2007) (along with Hakeem Olajuwon and David Robinson). 3. One of five players in NBA history to lead the NBA in rebounding and blocking averages in the same season (along with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Walton, Hakeem Olajuwon, and Dwight Howard). 4. One of three players in NBA history to average 15 rebounds and 3 blocks per game over a season (along with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Bob McAdoo). 5. Only undrafted player in NBA history to be voted a starter for the NBA All-Star Game. 6. One of two players in NBA history to receive NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award four times (along with Dikembe Mutombo). 7. First undrafted player in modern NBA history to be elected into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. 8. Lowest Free Throw Percentage of any player with at least 125 made Free Throws.

A four-time Defensive Player of the Year, Ben Wallace was one of the most intimidating rim protectors in NBA history, anchoring the historically excellent defense of the championship-winning Detroit Pistons in the mid-2000s. He was capable of completely shutting down the paint, and he remains an unquestioned legend on that end. "I didn't get to see [Bill] Russell or [Wilt] Chamberlain, but I can't remember a guy that wreaks so much havoc of the court like Ben does," former Pistons president and NBA legend in his own right Joe Dumars said after Wallace was granted his fourth DPOY, per The Associated Press (via ESPN).

A center who was a lengthy fluid 6'8 and just scratching 6'9 📏 in shoes 👠. For what he lacked in size at his position, he made up for it with pure brute strength💪🧱. Big Ben went down as arguably the greatest rim protector of his era ⚓ just by benching 🏋️ 350-400lbs habitually.

He was an anomaly, he was undersized in an era of dominant big men and was the most intimidating defensive presence that elevated his team. Many say he was that era's Wes Unseld

There should have been a new stat created because of Ben the Tapout he would go up and he wouldn't get the rebound but he would tap the ball out to one of his teammates simultaneously preventing the other team from getting the rebound
@foggylungs11 ай бұрын
Technically, I think he still gets credited for the rebound. It's whoever makes the 1st contact with the ball. Just like if a deflection leads to a steal, the 1 who makes contact with the ball 1st is credited with a steal.

Why no mention of Wallace's conflict with Noah in Chicago that probably led to him being traded, and Chicago went with a younger core group
@Haruo-67685 ай бұрын
I do love how people wanna compare ben wallace with bill russell, which I find to be funny because your comparing a player from the 2000s with a supposedly plumber and not only that, your doing it when ben wallace is a offense liability and literally they aren't even the same height, they literally aren't at all. Not only that, he only has 4 good years in detroit and than as soon as he got traded or went somewhere else, he just instantly fell off and never was the same ever again and never made any of his teammates better or wasn't even a leader. So no there will never be another bill russell ever again in the nba at all, no greg oden wasn't bill russell nor wasn't hassan whiteside, to be bill russell is harder than the eye test tells you.
