Well, tilting is actually an important part of pinball. Many machines are notorious for returning the ball directly down the center so it's impossible to hit, even after launch. Newer machines tried to mitigate this some by having a light on for 10-20 seconds or so, so that if your ball went straight down, it would relaunch. But that doesn't really solve the problem on some machines. Some machines even have a small little pole that will bounce any ball that goes straight down back up, so you have to nudge the machine a bit so you can hit it. Depending on how sensitive the machine is, you can get away with it once you get a feel for what it will tolerate. In addition, most machines give you a warning or two, which allows you to use your tilts strategically. Great tilters can even use it to adjust shots as they go up, and not just to save a ball from going down.

I used to be a top level competitor in the early HALO days and I've been playing poker for a living for a couple years and my 'speciality' is to never tilt. A couple tips: - Before u start playing u should realize there is a big chance u will lose. Even if the odds are less than 1%. That loss is completely normal and u should accept the fact. - No matter what game u play, the results will always be affected by connection errors, bugs, hit registration, cheaters, horrible teammates and other 'random' stuff. U know that in advance and u have no control over it. Just enjoy the moments everything does work properly. - If u loose a game think about your own and your teammates decisions and gameplan. Could u have done anything better? Communication?Strategy?Agressiveness?Or just bad luck? Dont focus on the random stuff from above, focus on the stuff u can actually influence. - Every game and every round u should proof that u are better. Never assume u will win because u are. Im done now, im gonna play some Apex.

That's because tilting does the same main impact - loss of concentration. Difference is that with gambling, you could have a very long downstreak (the longest I've read about was 6 months straight) but if you do everything right the statistics on the long run would make your profits. In online games where your matchmaked mates could work against the team, it could be irreversible (quoting Dendi: "On the high mmr mathes, the team with less fools wins").

The best way i have found to deal with it is to realize how you lost and to positively reinforce your teammates or tell yourself how you can do better next time. Then try it out what way. Another way i have found is to have a sense of humor towards both yourself and teammates during games. If a teammate misses his shots just tell him good try it happens it was our fault for leaving you out their and we can all do better next time and maybe a few jokes in between. I cant tell you how many times i joked about a teammates potato aim we all launghed then won the next 3 rounds.

This is not always how it works though, if your team mate is in a tilted mindset too you can tilt at their response to your attempt at being nice since they may find it condescending. My advice is this to anyone who tilt at team mates, write out all the shit uwanna say in the moment, then delete it to get it out of your system and continue the match.

I really agree with the points made in this vid. Years ago I always rage when I get owned or I lose matches. At some point I found myself never being salty at enemies again and never get mad over losses Thats becuz I learnt to accept the fact when I get defeated, its simply becuz I made a bad move, I suck or may pure unlucky. But I know as long as Im not dead I can win at some point So I focus on evaluating what went wrong and go about fixing it Now each defeat is basically an encouragement to me because it means there are things I can learn to get better And since Im not mad at all, I can appreciate what my opponent did to beat me and it makes me happy to see amazing plays from opponents too The method I learnt to deal with tilting is basically the same as the vid, but I could never precisely share my method with my friends, now u guys made this vid and I can go help my friends who tilt for real life matters as well Thanks for the vid

I used to get SO salty while playing fighting games. Never throwing my controller or anything, but definitely a quiet and tilted stewing in my chair staring at the the "You Lose" screen for the 20th time in a row. I got a 14 day suspension from my mean words in a game but I think it'll be a lesson learned well. This video also helped me a bit to realize that if I simply block out the hate and negatively I won't be affected by it. My tilt is not having a bad team but instead fighting with someone and arguing with them. I'm a really caring person in real life but when I'm in game sometimes I just change idek why, but I'll work on it.

I've always gone full circle and just tried to calm my very easily tilted team but they were so mad we just played really bad until we slowly started accepting certain ways we died and tried learning from it and need to take time and have breaks to calm down maybe a day or so and come back and you are alot more prepared
