@@keithwicks9103 yeah but I like experiences,like I know you have to veggies 1/2 portions of your meals but what do you eat? Recipes? Tips on how you built that routine, so on. There's so much more than just reading a long thesis on the science of weight loss, experiences also motivate me a lot.

Habit 1: Get Lazy What is the smallest change I can make to contribute to weight loss? If I do too many habits at once then I will get overwhelmed. It takes 30 minutes to transition from one task to the next. Choose a habit that is High Impact and low effort. Habit 2: Get Real Plan for the unexpected. Change your habit. For instance, instead of cook a meal eat frozen veggies instead. Habit 2 part 2: Plan the comeback. Start from step one to lose vacation weight.

*HABIT 1:* Pick only one thing that will have a HIGHEST impact, but lowest effort for weight loss. *HABIT 2:* PREPARE an easy on-ramp plan to *slowly* get back on track after a vacation, holiday or trip.

This is defiantly a helpful tip for those struggling. I've for the past almost three years worked really hard to lose weight and improve my health overall. I'm currently at the higher end of a healthy weight and now more focused on regaining skin elasticity and building muscle after losing between 130-140+ pounds which is around half my original bodyweight. I'm still a bit on the chubby side with a bit more fat on my midsection than I'd like but I know I don't need to do the whole caloric deficit thing at this point because if I increase the muscle it will allow my body to use what I eat and that little excess fat more efficiently by default. I baby stepped changes bit by bit over time so I wouldn't deal with the issues of burning out mentioned here. I did for several months this year fall off the wagon as far as excersise goes because I was dealing with a really nasty move where the logistics fell through and the apt I was in was no longer really livable. I wasn't sleeping much if at all either from the stress. So my focus was getting the f out of dodge and in a better situation over working out. That had my stress higher since my workouts in the morning were my me time (unless I did my workouts with my son) were I was able to get out of my head and decompress before really starting my day. Nixing even doing a 30-40 minute walk meant I was constantly stressing and I felt overwhelmed and had trouble getting crap done and barely slap because my insomnia was through the roof and with my mental health issues I was stuck in a perpetual manic state. Not healthy at all. Habits, baby stepping changing them, sticking with what works for you, and giving yourself some grace when not everything goes according to plan and you get a bit lazy or concentrate on other life factors, that us how it sticks. Changing small things a bit at a time, stocking with those changes and building on them, and not beating yourself up when things inevitably go pear shaped every now and then and giving up means you can make your goals stick permenantltly.

@CoachViva I'm one of those crazy wild rebellious energetic young men that takes my shirt off when I workout.
@missyleonis Жыл бұрын
@@johnkarpierz9147 yeah, I know the type. Its called eye candy. And yes I do sometimes stop when a guy without a shirt who's working out and hot passes by to watch. If I was hot and a guy did that with me I wouldn't be upset as some other women niwfays seem to be. Well, as far as hot or not, I get plenty of guys pay attention, just unfortunately its most often to proposition me like a working girl if you get my drift. I put those tactless classless guys through a verbal wood chipper so bad they both cringe/flinch and flee. Telling them their attempts at a pickup line are the biggest turn off ever even if I was interested and I don't need a guy for that I can handle it myself really hits those egocentric males right where it hurts most and teaches them some decency and respect. Its OK in my opinion to look at a attractive person. Its OK to do a double take with that. Its OK to flirt and hit on someone to a degree. Its not OK to walk up to someone randomly at a bus stop, ask if they are single and then say "hey baby why don't you come with me to my place I can make you feel good" without knowing so much as the persons name, age, preferences, or if they are even remotely interested.gender be damned if I did that to a guy that would still be disrespectful as hell. Me being a female and a guy doing it doesn't make it better or worse, but I'm all little miss equal standards and equal rights so I see either gender pulling that kind of crap as utterly vile on a equal scale.

The biggest problem I found, and losing weight was I was not getting enough sleep. You need to make sure you get at least eight hours sleep every day. If you don’t you will gain weight. your body replaces additional food and does not get rid of the extra pounds because you’re not sleeping.

Thank you!! I watched this video the day it came out and immediately recognized myself. I've accomplished many things but weight loss had always been so hard. Decided to do a two week experiment after realizing I was drinking a lot of sugary beverages with meals. Only water with meals. The experiment technically ended yesterday and I'm down 4 pounds. I still ate fast food and desserts on occasion, but I did find I was getting full faster because I was being more mindful of my food. I did my regular exercise (lifting twice, tennis, pickleball, a walk), but no calories counted or macros or anything. So I'm going to do another 2 weeks. Gonna keep this one thing until I plateau as mentioned in the video! Two week intervals feel like a long enough period of time to see some change, and I've got a ways to go before I hit even 30% body fat.

Great advice and approach! I am coming off of very chaotic and stressful three months and ready to get back into routine but was feeling overwhelmed. After watching this video I'm feeling much more calm and reassured. Be lazy? Yeah, I can totally do that! My focus will be on making healthy, home-cooked meals. I find it's most important for me to control ingredients and avoid unhealthy fats and added sugars and salt. Once I'm feeling physically better from eating well, I'll take another step. Thanks, Coach Viva!

Thank you so much for all your info!! No wonder I fail and want to quit when I go in hard core at weight loss. I love your approach and am applying your principles to my complicated life!! I travel for a living and my work is unpredictable at best but I can use that to my advantage to take workout breaks and just concentrate on eating better. When I have that done for a month I can move on to the next obstacle. Anyway, thank you so much!!!

Thank you for acknowledging how long it took you to gain the fat and really hitting home the idea that slow change is more sustainable. I'm currently trying to lose fat, I was successful for a bit, and then Summer hit and I knew it would be BBQ and beers. And I let that happen but I still did bare minimum workouts and tried to drink my water and eat my veggies. So 3 short workouts a week and a couple manageable habits, and I maintained my fat loss for the 2 months of enjoying myself too. I've never been able to do it before but committing to the smallest 'laziest' thing did it 🎉
