Biffa! From the old market to the top of the mountain make a road. For driving/ motorcycle enthusiast to drive up. Smooth incline roads on the mountain with a few view stops with restaurants/ cafe with a view. (Makes a mountain more realistic)

This. Also, if you're going to have the rail line elevated at both ends to pass over the highway, why not just keep it elevated and use one of the (gorgeous) elevated train stations from the CCP? That being said, diverting the line across the highway was totally unnecessary imho - just keep it on the far side and have a pedestrian under-/overpass from the stations rear entrance to connect to the town side. It keeps the noise pollution to the residential area down, it frees up lots of space, and it's a good use of the limited shore area... but 🤷‍♂️

For that abandoned industrial area, I was thinking of more like what OKC OK did with an abandoned 1920s industrial district. They added a canal, a movie theater and basketball stadium. They also added walking/cycling paths, a lot of restaurants and shopping with hotels. Also there is now a water park in the area as well as river tours. :) Add in some other attractions and WOW! It would be perfect. Also add ferries to get to the Sea Fortress! Or helicopters... Also, on the 1920s area in OKC: No, they did not remove the warehouses! Those became the shops & restaurants :)

The observatory can be up where the funicular and cable cars come together, you already flattened a space out when trying to figure out how the funicular stations work, may as well take advantage of that spot you vacated since you'd have to flatten out one for the observatory anyway. Would also give people a reason to use both the cable cars and the funicular.

Biffa, remember that train stations have rear entrances (and integrated pedestrian tunnels)! You didn't connect your town area to your train station's, making the cims take the long way over the (unnecessary) overpass. 😉

The new area + the fort could be the old colonial historical settlement, fits so well with the old looking market street and the clock tower. Maybe set the build area to European suburban houses and find some more historical looking assets? Maybe the factory used to be the old banana plant but obviously the whole area is now just tourism and museums etc.

It's actually fine to do that if the area is small, you don't expect a lot of traffic, keep residence relatively low, and your connection is to a fast road (which it is).

Just a little thing: when you were setting up districts you turned on the Prefers Parks option, which will draw people more towards your parks but its downside is that it draws them away from your Unique Buildings. With the Opera House and Olde Town Market in that district, maybe you might not want that policy.

Mentioning this again... A name suggestion for one of the mountain ridges could be matcha heights/hills/greens etc. Matcha is a green tea from Japan. Since you also have Japanese wordplay (metcha that means very much) it could be pretty suitable for any either high level green area or ridiculously rich area. Once again... Tnx for great content! Honestly, I think this village makes a GREAT case for highway removal. This is a destination; there's no need for folks to be driving through this place to get to some other place. No need for a highway to bypass it. Then you wouldn't have such a barrier between your citizens and the waterfront. You would free up so much land getting rid of that interchange too.

Sorry, Biffa. Isn't be more realistic to put the train station near the waterfront so that you shouldn't build the train overpass. Then you could put the Opera House in where it located firsthand, plus you could encourage people to walking and cycling from the station to the community instead of overpassing the highway with road that makes you need to move the Opera House to the new location.

Lake Tekapo Village is a beautiful relaxed town in New Zealand and I thought that you could call it PG Tekapo which is associated with the stunning PG tips mountain and also associated it with the New Zealand Theme.

1: Those new areas should also be set to self-sufficient buildings. That, or set them to some sort of a medieval old town theme, if there is one. 2: One side of the railway is set to residential, instead of offices. The residential side should be replaced with offices. 3: For that matter, I suggest turning the train station the other way around, and having the railway be directly next to the motorway. Then, you only need one line of offices.

Symphony Hall in Birmingham has a railway line running underneath it and a main road alongside it. It's suspended on rubber blocks to decouple sound and vibrations and the concert hall itself sounds superb.
