I love that I can create playlists and have her shuffle my music or tell her what songs I like and she plays similar songs. You can also tell her to play a genre of music.

Echo needs this skill: "Alexa, normalize audio." (maintains consistent volume between songs in a playlist, especially needed for older music) Also, would like to see more flexibility in user-created routines. For example, Saying, "Alexa, let's workout" could set volume to 3, set timer to 30 min and play Trance music. Keep up the good work Mr. Bezos.

Have you looked into IFTTT? I'm sure it should be able to do that for you. I used to use it before Alexa updated and had more routine features in the app versus discovering another apps routines.

I connected the audio output jack on my echo to an AM transmitter, tell alexa to play oldies or AM America's OTR Comedy Channel and then broadcast the shows to my antique tube radios.

CORRECTION at 5:30 , my daughter and I got an Amazon Echo 2nd gen (the full-size one with subwoofer) which also has the AUX OUT 3.5mm socket and I also believe the Amazon Echo Plus along with the Echo Dot 3rd gen also has the AUX OUT

You can tell your Alexa to go in guard mode and she will listen and see if she hears any glass breaking or any suspicious things. You should try it out!

I have looked everywhere for an answer to a question I have. Hopefully I can get some help here. I have echo's in my kids rooms. Each have playlists created on Apple music. When they ask Alexa to play their playlists it only play my playlists from Apple Music. How can Alexa recognize their playlists. The have given their playlists unique names but its not working. Alexa, order this nice young man a beer. Mike, _relax,_ dude! People will still like you, although maybe a different set of people -- those who came here for information rather than a floor show. But I did learn a few things. Not enough to make me want to buy an Alexa yet, but I'm closer than I was. They're still a little gimmicky in my opinion. Most of that stuff I can do on my own, or with my computer -- and would rather. Other things would be so infrequent that I don't get the benefit. It would be like, _"Alexa can now change your TV channel to CSPAN!"_ Great, that saves me the awful drudgery of having to reach for my TV remote to go to CSPAN about twice in my lifetime.
