One of the things that seems loosely connected to successful sales folks is that they need to "genuinely believe" in the product they are selling to be totally effective. If you are going to give someone a features and benefits story, it is generally better that you believe that story yourself first. A second thing that really helps in selling anything is for the subject product to genuinely possess some unique feature that differentiates it from the competition. The only way to credibly sell junk products is to explain to the customer why the product was built as it was and how it is positioned in the market place and then pass the back to them with "your decision". I am not sure if there is any way to regulate vehicle sellers to avoid unethical sellers. Given how many times Hoovie has reported that the seller was not properly disclosing some weakness in a product he was buying seems all too frequent.

The other one was a Range Rover that was just out of warranty. I got a call from a guy that lived 50 miles away. We made an appointment and they came down to see it. I had gone out to make sure I knew the car and it was good to go. The air suspension wasn't working. They got there and he looked over and tested everything and ot worked. They didn't buy it that day. Three days later he called and said they wanted to buy it. I went out and made sure it was good to go and another air suspension fault. When they got there I told them the truth. He tested it and everything worked. I talked to him a few times after and they were happy. Maybe it just didn't like me. 😂

Tyler, can definitely agree with you on the Aveo, worked for Chevy as a tech during those years, absolute pile of crap. Sales wise, done Subaru, Porsche, VW and Hyundai. Honestly, only thing I would say I wouldn't do again is VW. Is a brand struggling with an identity crisis. Ever since Diesel gate, they don't know what they are. GTI is only thing remotely interesting, but the Mk8 is a shell of its former self. Subaru was putting out a pretty stellar product, other than the earliest CVTs being a bit soulless. I would disagree with the thought on the Taycan, I felt like they were fantastic cars, and the refresh on them is going to make them even better. And Hyundai's current line (as you and April discovered with the new Santa Fe) is excellent.

The sad part about the Accord being behind the competition is that the generation is fairly new. Honda has gone hard into the "car as an appliance" way of designing their vehicles. Smaller hybrid engines and CVT transmissions that get you from A to B, but don't deliver any joy. Bland styling with interiors and tech that are nothing to write home about. As a guy that owned 2 prior Accords it took me 2 minutes to rule it out when I was buying a new car last year.

If it isn't any exotic car, they haven't made a good car since 2012, except the Chargers and Helcats.. 2017 is the hard line..

Quite the take given all of the issues with the chargers and challengers (and I used to own a 21 scat). Are you saying Tacomas and 4Runners are not good vehicles? New vettes aren’t good? New 911s aren’t good? 3rd gen 6.7 powerstrokes aren’t good? New civics and Camrys aren’t a good A-B car?

the Honda statement doesn't sound right. 2024 honda accord has 2 engine options. on the low end it is a 1.5L turbo, and on the higher end there is the Hybrid engine.
