In this video, a preview from one of Rhonda's FoundMyFitness Members-only Q&As, she discusses the 7 best ways to reduce inflammation.
Rhonda also covers:
• Why sugar-sweetened beverages are one of the top dietary sources of inflammation (and how they affect LDL particle numbers)
• Her number 1 supplement for reducing inflammation
• How low omega-3 intake is responsible for just as many yearly deaths as trans fats
• What to do for heat stress if you don't have access to a sauna
• The cheapest way to boost your sulforaphane intake
This clip is a segment from one of our live Members-only AMAs with Rhonda, hosted every month. Join in on the next one by signing up here:

One thing I'd recommend you look at, is I paused the vid. for a few moments whilst doing something for myself, & as soon as resuming ANOTHER ad was in my face, after the last ad being only seconds prior. I'm not talking back to back, I'm not sure how such an obnoxious format is expected to not make me go onto other things. Sorry, love your work, just WILL NOT put up with tube🗑. I ought change my viewing patterns anyway, perhaps this will be 1 impetus.

Also - 1) improve your microbiome with lots of fibre types. It makes compounds that lower inflammation. 2) lower Visceral fat, plenty of tips online 3) Turmeric with pepper. 4) Berries. I worked out Sulforaphane in red cabbage is cheapest. I used to sprout broccoli. Also get a ton of polyphenols in red cabbage. I blend the cabbage and heat it to 40C for 10 mins to max out Sulforaphane. I also add a small amount of ground mustard just in case I heat it too much. I also add the mustard to cooked Cruciferous veg to max its Sulforaphane. After blending the red cabbage I leave it for 30 mins as that also helps.

@@NellyFernandez-ow3if same way, blend the cabbage first in a blender with some water. Putting a little ground mustard seed in. Then it stand for 40 mins in the blender cup to give the myrosinase enzyme time to fully convert glucoraphanin into sulforaphane. After that, you can heat the broccoli without worrying as much about losing the enzyme, since the sulforaphane has already formed. But I usually stick to 40C anyway, but really do not need to. Especially if have the mustard in which helps too. I then put the blended with water cabbage into a pan and add enough oats to thicken it to taste then heat it up. If it gets too thick I just add more water! If not sweet enough can add usual fav fruits.

I cut out almost all my inflammation issues (I ride my bike every day so it's important my knees don't hurt) through cutting out any food with the harmful seed oils in it, anything with added sugar, and nothing with a bunch of preservatives I basically just eat fresh fruit, eggs, and burgers For my burgers I get sourdough from this place called easy tiger in Austin that doesn't add any oil or sugar to it, it's just regular ol classic bread Anyway for my burger I cut one slice in half and toast that up to use as a bun And I cook the burger on the cast iron with fresh sliced garlic and in olive oil 🫒 I feel great now

In the beginning of this year (2024), I was diagnosed with IBD (UC). One of my first conversations with one of my doctors (a professor in gastrointestinal disease) was like this: Me: "What food do you recommend eating or avoiding in order to reduce inflammation?" Doctor: "No particular food." Me: "But we can agree that sugar must be avoided?" Doctor: "There is no evidence for that." This contradicts everything I have been able to find in the scientific literature and what many, many other doctors (also on KZbin) say. Obviously, I don't trust him! I have asked three of my doctors (specialized in gastrointestinal disease) the same question about sugar. Their answers were the same!

She missed a few critical ones: 1. Avoid processed foods, not only refined sugars/carbs. 2. Eat lots of fiber in the form of vegetables and legumes 3. Add key foods associated with low inflammation, e.g., turmeric, garlic, cloves More broadly, the higher the percent of calories that come from whole-foods, plant-based sources, the lower the inflammation. The higher the natural fiber content, the lower the inflammation. Reducing meat consumption and opting for plant-based protein sources, also reduces inflammation. 4. Also, sleeping well.

...And so maybe the question is: Is the inflammation chronic or acute ? Essential to follow Dr. Rhonda ! Absolute negation is not necessitated. Highly increased CRP biomarker demonstrates downright dangerous. SPM's are a great new frontier to endeavor. In the meantime, Omega 3's, sulforophane, time restriction eating to giving your digestive track that rest, increases in norepinephrine, are crucial that aren't the overdone nullification.

A good high quality Curcumin supplement should definitely be on the list, probably top 3. I do time restricted eating, roughly 8-10 hour window of eating, I still eat before bed sometimes within an hour, I still do a moderate amount of sugars, but am a high level athlete and workout maybe 10-13 hours weekly very intense. I’m 43 and my crp and other inflammatory markers are so low in my bloodwork they’re almost off the unmeasurable. So while I do some of this I still consume moderate sugars and have numbers that low. I would credit that to exercise, fasting, and Curcumin in that order. Number 4 would be a NMN or NR supplement. And the most important that makes all this go is good sleep and sunlight, if you’re working third shift and want low inflammation you need a new job or schedule.

No! Get the surgery before it causes permanent nerve damage!!!

@@BestLifeMD The doctor told me removal would likely result in an inability to ever walk properly again and I’d never be able to run. She advised against surgery unless I absolutely can’t function anymore and the pain becomes too much.

@@johnulcer oh, you said "could" previously which would obviously be a risk with any surgery near a nerve. My comment assumed it was growing and was continuing to compress your nerve.

LDL isn't a problem as long as it isn't oxidized. Rhonda did not mention this

Yes it is a problem because you can’t avoid all oxidative stress, it’s simply impossible.

@@maxmwegerano7400 LDL is essential to many functions in the body - including brain and muscle function. Oxidative stress can be lowered or mitigated such that LDL doesn't oxidize frequently.

My skin is a barometer for inflammation. Like scaring abscess on my face bad. Autoimmune issues also else where. *Fish oil *Turmeric/curc with bio enhancers. *NAC, collagen peptides, vitamin C. All together, 2-3 times a day. *Limiting blood sugar spikes.- fiber, berberine or metformin. Fasting. Good diet. Green vegetables good. *Limiting stress. -meditation, exercise, sleep. Ashwangdha, magnesium glyinate. Kava. If I don't do this or I eat bad. I have to take presione or deoxycyline.

Processed food manufacturers need to hear from consumers that less ADDED chemicals, sugar, oil and salt is wanted in their food products. Why is there so much ADDED sugar in everything, even bread. That's just crazy Email, text, tweet or phone your favorite producer of poison and let them know consumers want less salt, oils and sugars in their products. Let their customer service department know that all the extra added salt, oil and sugar is not necessary or desired and is causing health issues. Reduce or eliminate highly processed food from your diet if you can. Go vegan for your health, whole food plant based. Go vegan for the animals. Go vegan for the planet. Go vegan and be healthier and happier. A lower risk of heart disease and cancer for you and a better planet for everyone, human and animals. Eating healthy is not a diet it is a healthy life style. Go out and look around. The vast majority of people you see are obese or al least over weight. People do not need to be fat shamed BUT being over weight is not healthy and leads to a host of illnesses. When you look around you can see all the unhealthy people without taking a blood test or a fitness test "NORMAL" for the average American is "UNHEALTHY" The health of society is in decline.

Soda has all sorts of artificial ingredients. How much actual natural cane sugar do they contain? People have used sugar for hundreds of yrs and did. It have correlating Alzheimer's going along with it. If she cited a study where they handed people sugar water then maybe you could say that.
