I've been noticing a micro-trend of black women hopping on the internet to discuss their interest in opening up their dating pool when it comes to race. Many of them say it's because black men are not treating them as well as men of other races. Is this true? Are their standards too high? Let's talk about it.

As a guy I would say the same don't date irresponsible women. I mean we don't even need to bring gender into this, Just a simple, Don't date bad people. Let's be honest You're going to make that mistake when you're young and dumb and you don't know any better but is you get older if you're having problems dating and a big reason is you keep going for bad matches then you got yourself to blame. It's hard it can take years to find a good match and that's what I'm doing right now It's been a few years since I ended my last relationship and I'm just not jumping in bed or associating with anybody who's not up to par who's not mature who's not responsible who doesn't know how to be respectful I got my stuff together I make a good living I'm in my forties I want the same in a spouse I don't really want to do the marriage thing but long-term I'm fine with being single if I can't find a good person. That's it That's simple I'm not going to waste time on bad people anymore.

The problem is that mainstream black culture is messy. The men that fit in the stereotypes are usually selfish and have commitment issues, and the girls that fit into the stereotypes have attitude issues. There are plenty of black people that don't fit into those stereotypes, and as long as you're in that crowd, you're fine.

The healthiest option is to hold the same standard for all men, regardless of race. Don’t spend time and energy with men who are there to waste it. Opening up your dating to include all races and cultures give you more options, and dating is very much a numbers game. There’s no need to exclude a race, when it’s certain behaviors you don’t want.

Yes, and it is possible to know the kind of person you are pursuing before you commit to him. And if you find that you are having a difficult time finding good men, bring in some trusted friends to help evaluate and see if there are any red flags you are missing. It's all about character as long as you are attracted to him it doesn't matter what he looks like, so it doesn't matter what race he is. Culture is something to take into consideration because there are different ways of communicating and things, which even me and my husband ran into despite not feeling like we came from different cultures. So if you do want to date someone with a different culture than your own you need to make sure you know there might be weird issues unique to your situation and both be willing to work through them and learn each other's cultures.

I have black girl friends who've expressed the same sentiments as these women and I think there is more to it. It seems that it isn't just that black men are curious to try something exotic because they're accustomed to seeing black women and everything else you're saying. These women genuinely feel that these men view and treat them as they are genuinely lesser than other races of women. They were made to feel as though these men were doing them a favour by choosing them over other women. Many times they've felt pressure to change their appearances (to wear wigs etc). When things get ugly during break-ups, for some insane reason these men have literally made disgusting comments about these women's race. It makes no sense since the men are of the same race, but for some reason they spew racist/misogynistic stuff at these women. And yes, there are shitty men everywhere and good men everywhere, but these type of experiences seem to be more common than you'd expect. I'm Asian and I dont know a single Asian girl who has gotten abuse for being Asian from an Asian guy, but I know a few black women in real life who've experienced this and I've seen plenty more online. So there is something going on that isn't the same with men in other cultures. I can also say that as an Asian woman, I have generally felt loved and admired by the men I've dated. I haven't felt as though they dont see me as something special because they're accustomed to Asian women. I think these women have a point that shouldn't be dismissed so readily.

I was raised in a suburban area and ended up with a white partner who was raised similarly. I'd be open to being with a black guy that was raised the same way, but I know that is a very small odd. I have zero interest in black men that were raised from low-income neighborhoods - trust me I've tried. Twice. There was a very big difference in our mentalities, interests, music taste, religious views, etc. which is why neither relationship worked. @@iAMDREi22 I'm not interested in anyone that wasn't raised in the suburbs. But white people tend to make up the suburbs more than black people do because of our history. That is the sad truth. I hear you. But I was raised as the only black person on my street, so I still have very little ties to black culture. I didn't grow up with popular black sitcoms and movies, I was never introduced to them by my family. Didn't go to black churches. Black music either with the exception of the classics (Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston) but I ultimately discovered my own taste and really ended up enjoying rock music, which is also white dominant. Regardless, I feel like by missing out on black culture, it makes it harder for me to bond with and relate to other black people. And there's a very good chance that if I found a black guy that was in the exact same boat as me, I'm sure he'd just prefer a white woman, no? Because that's what he's more familiar with too

This is a problem that I find with pretty much every race. Though I will say, the words that different cultures use to describe women varies greatly. But on the other hand, at some point they have to stop blaming their parents, or lack thereof, for their lifes situation and take full responsibility for every aspect of their life. As a darker skin black woman who has always been more attracted to white and Asian men, I concur black men have been abnormally cruel towards me for no reason. And I wasn't even dating them. I especially experienced it in the military. BM in higher positions screwing me over, reading negative intent in everything I do, giving unjustified punishments and openly praising white/Spanish women. I once was standing in formation between a lighter(mixed race black woman) and a black man who were having a loud conversation about how ugly dark skin people, particularly dark skin women, are. Mind you I was the only darker skin black person in ear shot. Clearly they were having that conversation so that I could hear it. The thing that confused me the most was I didn't say anything to these people. I kept to myself and minded my business. But for whatever the reason they had to ensure that my spirit was broken with their disgusting rhetoric. To add insult to injury, any time I brought this grievance up to my "family" and other black people, I was ignored or blamed. Or the worst bit, I had to listen to an hour long boasting about how everyone LOVES a "strong dark skin black man", despite my REPEATEDLY stating it was darker skin black women who are getting the brunt of this ill treatment. Not dark skin black men. But of course, any moment to gloat about the greatness of the men even when the subject isn't about them, has to be taken advantage of. It's one thing to be insulted but to be rendered invisible in such a manner was damaging to my psyche. Well I have left my family, community and the men within it alone. I don't argue or bother to get them to see the problem. I am beyond done with them. I have been with my husband(a white man) for eleven years and he's been the guiding light through the darkness and negative conditioning placed on me by my so called people. Leaving them alone has been the best decision of my life. And I refuse to go back for them to torment ever again. I smile more. I don't take things to heart. I'm relaxed. I don't over eat. I'm more productive and achieved things I swore I could never do. I'm happy! I don't blame black women especially us darker skin ones for leaving this culture behind. There's nothing for us there. I'm all for black women expanding their boundaries and not limiting themselves to dating only black men. And every black women needs to prioritize having a passport. Let's expand our horizons!

My ex husband is white. EVEN DIVORCED we have a wonderful coparenting relationship and are friends..his other divorced friends, not so much at all. I have a biracial daughter So married or divorced, or business, black women and white men are just a good pairing who know how to get things done for our families. I dated white because my standards were education,m and gainful employment....and they actually liked me. Easier to find dating outside the community. I had a strong black father and knew the traditional roles. Moat black men had feminine energy, which was offputting. I know what a man in the household looks and feels like.

100% why. Honestly I hate to say it but it’s a fact. I’m a black man so I can confirm 60% of us black men (that are under the age of 31) are not ready to settle down yet. You have to be brutally honest. We’re a race that in the media is majority considered undesired, and majority considered unattractive but in real life by 15 years old majority of us already (that aren’t loners or geeks) already had sex with women that are badder then the women most white men end up MARRYING. & that’s a fact. Most white men that end up with black women believe they hit the jackpot because most white men aren’t use to regularly dating/fucking genuinely beautiful thick women. I was in alternative school with white boys that were 17 and were literally actual virgins. So of course a white boy is gonna value any and every little thing that looks good. You have to prove yourself to black men, that & a lot of these anime geek females are not attractive to us.

As an African America young woman with a white bf whos previously dated hispanic, black and white men , this is ACCURATE. I love ALL people and of course MY OWN people but I am tired of the disrespect and mistreatment that unfortunately comes from dating black men. My older brother had the audacity to tell me that this (black men vs women) started because when the original Color Purple movie came out it ruined the "black mans image" and made them out to seem like savages, etc. and perpertrators of violence against their women so they majorily started gravitating toward other races of women for that. I also dont like how much ive even HEARD black men say "ThEY dOnT DaTe BlAcK WomEn" for various DISRESPECTFUL, offensive and sometimes downright COLORIST reasons, its sick. Meanwhile, white men who are (who date black women) because SOME OF THEM DONT TOO (as ive been told and can believe) are usually so loving, sweet, genuinely try to understand us for who we are and where we come from, etc. thats what black women need, its WHAT WE DESERVE in a world that tries to say we're ugly and undesirable . @Crueltbk they say that’s one of the reasons that BW/WM marriages last. Both are the strength of their community, and have to fight societal pressures to be together. @Crueltbk Thank you for explaining BM’s reaction to The Color Purple, and damaging their image. Now I see why they make reference to Oprah as their enemy too. Overall, I’m seeing that the problem for BM is not the existence of DV, and other behaviors exhibited in The Color Purple. They just don’t want you to talk about it, because it makes them look bad. That’s typical of someone who wants to maintain an image, and position. When you voicing your concerns and telling your story makes them look bad, they work to silence you. They don’t care about your issues or concerns, especially when they benefit them. BM oppression of BW is an issue that we never discussed, because of our commitment to stand in solidarity with them against racist oppression. We wanted equality and justice for us all, but they only wanted it for themselves … we’re now finding out. I say that’s why there’s so much disrespect and mistreatment … because equality feels like oppression for the oppressor. That makes you a threat that they need to subdue and humble, so they can feel powerful, once again. Just a theory. We didn’t really think about it, but BM had sexist oppression on their side. That was their “power,” in the midst of subjugation. I’m wondering if

I’ll tell u this, white men are not much different. Don’t be fooled by your small experiences. Of course if u find the right white men and the wrong black men/hispanic men, you’ll form an opinion based on your own small sample size. But don’t hold a standard for ALL men of that race based on those experiences. There are bad seeds in ALL races, and cultures. Not trying to diminish your opinion, but you experience is not THE experience. I know u know plant of black and Hispanic men that don’t fit that negative description. Just like I know u know that there’s plenty of white men that aren’t the best of people. U just need to surround yourself with better people of all shades.
@nanaanan4731
@nanaanan4731 Жыл бұрын
@@TheIcemanthomas Her experience is not a SMALL experience, sir. Her experience is the experience that MANY BW are having with BM. Her experience is one that people of all races, who are paying attention to BM can attest to. BM have shouted LOUD AND CLEAR their disdain for BW. It’s not a small number of them. I’m confused how you’re sitting here listening to a video about a huge cultural shift, but think it’s this woman’s “small experience.” Get a clue. Apparently, she found the right people to surround herself with, at least re: the WM she’s happy with. Does it mean they’ll have NO relationship issues? Nope. But the misogyny is PREVALENT among BM. If we unpack it, we can attribute some of it to the subjugation of BM etc. under WS and patriarchy. These systems leave non-WM feeling powerless among men, and they overcompensate for it through fierce power and control over “their” women. We can call it displaced anger and aggression. That is not a small experience. That is a global experience, especially among oppressed groups of people. At the end of the day, people are people, and WM have their issues, like everyone else. But as a woman with romantic interests, it helps to have “a day off from racism” perpetuated by your own men through misogyny. I’ll second her sentiment. I don’t date men, at all. When I was dating men, I only dated BM. I stopped dating them for my own safety and peace of mind. They bring too much drama with them. My dating life has been happier, more peaceful, more prosperous and stable, as a result. I can grow and prosper, instead of the life being sucked out of me. The misogyny is REAL, as is the pervasive intention to dominate, manipulate, exploit, and control (aka pimp) women. I stopped dating BM for my own safety and peace of mind. Like they said it’s the CULTURE of BM that is expressed OPENLY through the media that BM create. They’re spewing it out of their own mouths, and have been for decades now. It’s affected the next generations and it is embedded in BM culture. So stop the gaslighting, sir. How many EXPERIENCES of dating BM, WM, or any men, as a WOMAN have YOU had? Nobody is going to start doubting their reality because you’re sitting here trying to tell them that they’re “small minded” with “limited experience,” therefore they don’t know what they’re talking about. Or that it’s just a coincidence that she’s not having the same experience with her WM that she was having with BM. That logic might make you sleep better, or relieve your BM cognitive dissonance. Good luck with that, but don’t expect BW who have (the highest DV rates, while being among the smallest percentage re: population of women) dated, lived with, co-parented with, married, and divorced MANY BM, to pretend not to see what’s all around us. Is it her “small experience” that upward of 70% of children in the BC grow up without their father in the home? What about how BM, not matter how much money they have, tend not to want to pay child support for the children they have with two or more women too? You just think that’s not a problem or an issue? That’s a PROBLEM. Common sense would tell you that if you get involved with a BM and have children by him, you will, more than likely end up raising that child without him. Not only is that not a “small experience,” or an opinion. That’s a fact. For most men of other cultures, raising and providing for their children is EXPECTED. Not taking care of your children is not NORMALIZED. Having children with multiple women is not NORMALIZED. Nick Cannon is a disgrace, but his behavior is NORMALIZED in the BC. How do you, as someone who is serious about family, choose this kind of a man to build a family with? I know that was long … but the fact that they highlighted this reply prompted me to respond. Open your eyes. Get a clue. These are just SOME OF THE REASONS BW have “had it.” Trust me when I tell you, there are many more.

Stop being a victim” And my comment would get outnumbered with the likes so badly, it would be embarrassing. Yet, if you read these comments, this is essentially an anti black male venting session. All that “don’t make generalizations about an entire group” shit flew completely out the window. Just read these comments. There can be truth in what these women say. But one thing is for sure. Black culture tells women to chase bad boy criminals, then the women get online and use criminals as the definition of what a black man is. So when they say "Black Men =struggle love" what they mean is pookie from the jailhouse/drug rapper gangs is hard to love, not the Harvard educated, state school going black man who they call Whyte cause he can read properly and doesn't throw the N-word around old people. Growing up liking anime and reading books got you bullied by these black women who later go on to date white nerds. ( also feminism is deeply rooted in black women's views on bm more than white women, which is why black men report being respected and listened to when they start dating a becky 😂 It's less a black thing and more of rotten culture thing. I don't blame either gender. I just know the culture messessging in this country to the black community is toxic and bad for building a healthy life and family. Ask Why yourself why do Africans in America not have this problem? It's not inner racism it's culture. Whether it's government/media or certain black leaders or ideology. One thing is clear. I'm a white guy from "stay with your own race" parents in a historically racist area. I've always been attracted to black women. Even my first crush in third grade was a black girl. She was dark. But, because of my parents, I've never had the courage to even consider following my own heart. I would say that a lot of people staying with their own race is due to parental pressure. I know a lot of white guys that are attracted to black women but feel like they'd be ostracized for how they feel so they're truly miserable. I also know black people who are attracted to white people and are also pressured by their parents to stay within their own race and its all because the older generations lived through the most racially tense times in history. They will always have it in their mind that mixing is a terrible idea. All that being said, I do know couples where both parties are black and they are extremely happy. I don't think race of a partner has anything to do with it. It's all about how the other person makes you feel and how they treat you. I've always dated white women, even though I've always been more attracted to black women, and most of them have cheated so even that isn't a racially or gender lopsided thing. They are honestly on to something. This is a phenomenon I’ve noticed with African American men specifically - not black men around the world. There’s definitely a reinforced culture of womanizing and looking for the next best thing. This is present in interracial relationships in the US too. The only difference with black women is that many of them have historically had an unwavering loyalty to “their men” that keeps them stuck in perpetually toxic and one-sided relationships for way way too long. I’m happy to see that more black ladies are feeling open and brave enough to venture out and see how much people from different cultures will truly love them and cherish what they gave to offer. So I know I'm a rarity in the 'African' American discussion, but here's my take: I grew up in Hawaii for 17 years, lived in Australia for 3 from 2006 to 2009, and after I joined the US Air Force, I lived in Germany for three years. I grew up around MOSTLY, Japanese, Chinese, Korea, Pacific Island, Filipinas, and European-descent women. While I do view them as more exotic looking (different from me) I may see them as my 'norm' because I grew up around them. I have also noticed that women in these ethnicities are more family oriented towards me, and also value my presence more than a black girl has. (ESPECIALLY WHEN I WAS IN EUROPE!) There was a difference in culture however; I was made acutely aware of this growing up. 'You talk white', 'You watch anime - that's white people and Asian stuff', 'You don't like rap unless it's Eminem', 'Rock and Emo are white people genre', etc... It's like I wasn't black unless I fit a mold. A mold that required struggle, a certain vernacular, and outlook on other ethnicities at times. It was simply a worldview I couldn't and still can't have considering the friends I had growing up. I literally had friends of every major ethnic group while growing up. So any kind of hatred towards another is not okay to me. Ironic racial jokes and jabs are fine - I do have a sense of humor, but I could just never fit in with the Black expectation - especially not the one black women had of me. But for other women, it's like not knowing made them except me as I came. There was no expectation because they believed having one might make them racist to some degree. That's just me thought. Anybody else?

This is a huge double standard, one of many in the black community. Women will disrespect and emasculate the men, the act in a degenerate manner until the men want to leave. Then, we're told "leave, we never wanted you anyways" until they realize many other cultures respect BM and then us leaving is a problem. We get judged for leaving and the reason we left is ignored in order to lie and shame us, but when the BW try to leave they are praised and championed for dating outside and "getting away from those bad BM". A common example of everything being the men's fault and the women being given special treatment. Only BM in masse are called race haters, sellouts, and coons for dating outside, and they'll highlight the specific instances of actual sellouts to represent all men.

This is definitely a cultural thing. I am a black women,mother is Haitian (grew up in Miami, a pretty diverse place),and father “african American”( grew up in Mississippi; they met in the navy. My mother and step father actually dated back in high school, and reconnected and got married when I was 10years old.My step father treats my mother like a queen. Cooks for her( he loves to grill/Cooke), I never herd him call her out of her name, put hands on her, takes care of the yard work,and both their cars. The last african American man I dated was a toxic relationship. I was made to feel like I was not his preference, because he would disrespect me and flirt with women on social media ( with women who look nothing like me, which I felt was his preference).Fast forward after that I started working over seas and being approached by caribean/island men, who worked for the same company as me,who spoiled me and treated me like a queen.(mostly black,but non American men.) My husband and I will now be married for a year in February. He is Puerto Rican. And he is my best friend. 💕

It's very odd that when I was a teen got called a race trader, told me I was a disgrace. I have never been with a black man because I grew up in the hood, and I got bullied constantly by my own race. So I went where I was wanted. Watching all the ghetto shenanigans was a turn off, I don't want a thug, or a cheater, and that's all I saw growing up I'm not in to that "culture" I'm 32 now and sad to say I don't think I'll have that "black love" and honestly that's okay.

This comment actually made me laugh because it accurately described my situations. "You sound white", "bounty", "you're not black", "Oh you want a white girl" after describing activities I'd want to do. I actually look at those memories kind of fondly. Looking back, they always had 2 of the following: piercing's in places that didn't make sense, tattoos, long nails, long lashes, tons of makeup, tight clothes, etc. I understand now that any 1 those red flags isn't necessarily a bad thing but if they have a collection of them, I should be avoiding them in all races.

When a man grows up with only a mother, she struggles to raise him right. Those problems can be internalized by the man and transferred to his mother. He may believe she was the problem even though the absent father was the problem. The man can then transfer his negative feelings towards his mother to ALL women. It isn't their fault that this happened to them, but it is their responsibility to fix their mindset so that they can be a good partner to a woman and break the cycle of disfunction.

Their culture has been creeping here to 1st through mainstream media (via TV) & now the internet, but mostly copied by 'City girls/boys' is what they are known as & especially my neighboring country South Africa is nicknamed 'The America of Afrika' because the people who live in their big cities like to copy the Black American culture 🤦‍♀️

Bw have been fighting for bm lives for a long time without any reciprocation. This war is bcuz bw are now refusing to be bm step stool to ww. ( also feminism is deeply rooted in black women's views on black men more than white women, which is why black men report being respected and listened to when they start dating a becky 😂

As a black woman. Iv never really given it any thought until this video. It’s just naturally ended up that way. Iv never dated a black guy, In my experience I found no effort in their approach. They don’t want to have a family, be leaders or provide. Not to be big-headed but I’m not ugly 😂 take good care of my body and mind etc. But I seem to catch the eye of most men except the black man. Middle Eastern men have been the most romantic and respectful towards me, so I did end up marrying a Middle Eastern man, 16 years now so I’m glad I did. He’s taught me so much about his culture, and everything I learned, I will teach to our daughters. I made a conscious effort to only date men who had both their fathers and mothers in their lives. And sadly many black men do not have that. The last thing any woman wants is to be left alone with a baby.

This is not referring to all BM obviously, because it is possible that good BM may exist, but many do not know how to treat a woman with respect. They do not value marriage and many are either unemployed or work at low income jobs. I love a man with a provider mindset, and someone I can submit too. I’m white and a lesbian, obviously I’m not into men of any race but I’ve been flirted with by men of all types and one thing I have noticed is that nearly every black man who showed interest in me seemed to fetishize the fact that I am white (and it only got worse when they found out I am gay) I should also point out that while every one of these men were relatively young, they all had 5-10 years on me and none of them really seemed to have their sh*t together nor did they seem interested in getting it together any time soon. One guy actually told me he moved to the other side of the country to escape his girlfriend who he got pregnant and was in town for the week because she finally guilt tripped him into meeting his child for the first time. I think a lot of it comes down to immaturity. None of those guys were looking for a partner. They were young, dumb, usually poor and looking for novelty and entertainment. That’s it. I hear so many straight women talk about how tall their man is or how much money he makes but they don’t think about what he as a person values and where he wants his life to go, or how he envisions you fitting into his future until it is too late.
