deer are prey animals, and suburban deer are especially tame, if it was a moose you'd be 100% right but deer are herbivores and are commonly found in american suburbs, there are many wild animals you'd be wise to fear but deer are not one of them

Gary Paulson wrote about a kid's death he witnessed at a park. The kid was feeding the deer like these kids, and something went wrong and the deer, who has very sharp hooves, impaled the kid. The Do Not Feed The Animals signs were everywhere, but peoeple ignored them. After I read this, I looked at deer way differently. They can be territorial, too, and so it's wise to pay attention if they are huffing at you when you are walking through their area.

Very dangerous. They look tame, but they are still wild animals. A buck that size could kill even a fully grown adult male in less than 3 seconds. That child wouldn't stand a chance if that buck decided to go on the offensive.
@johndor779310 ай бұрын
"A buck that size could kill even a fully grown adult male in less than 3 seconds." You mean in a fantasy world where he punctured the human in the eye and went straight to the brain? lol I asked chatgpt 3.5 who would mostly likely win in a fatal fight vs average adult male human ChatGPT Deer, even large bucks, are not naturally aggressive towards humans, and fatal fights between deer and adult humans are extremely rare. Deer are generally more likely to flee than to attack when confronted by humans. However, it's important to note that deer, especially during certain times of the year such as rutting season, can become more territorial and may display aggressive behavior if they feel threatened or cornered. In a hypothetical and highly unlikely scenario where a deer, for some reason, becomes aggressive and attacks a fully grown adult male human, the human would have a significant advantage due to their strength, size, and ability to defend themselves. In reality, though, such situations are exceedingly rare, and deer-human conflicts are usually resolved by avoiding confrontation and giving the deer an opportunity to retreat.
@goneflying14010 ай бұрын
@johndor7793 So you asked some AI about this? Has an AI ever been out in the woods and seen what these animals are capable of? If a buck that size were to rear up on it's hind legs and start hitting a human in the head with it's front hooves, which is one way they attack, one good shot to your skull could kill you with the power they have. I have seen these animals jump right over 10 foot high fences. They are very powerful. You aren't going to wrestle that thing to the ground like that AI is saying. So, I stand behind my claim. I have seen videos of bucks attacking humans, and they are screaming in terror as they are knocked to the ground and getting pummeled with those front hooves. A lucky skull shot could kill you, or like you said, if they gore your eyes out, you could be killed by the antlers too.

Apparently, ChatGPT is unaware the tips of dder antlers are sharp & deer have hooves, which they do employ to injure & kill. Stags have killed coyotes & wolves. Like the time I got my hand caught in the knotting mechanism of a baler. Or the time I ran my horse across a frozen pond and barely survived. Or the time I drove a dumptruck backwards off a cliff. But I was the town champion when it came to the game of "chicken". There is a cost for excellence.

Beautiful creatures. This neighborhood must be another encroachment on animal habitat. When will humans understand that a healthy animal population means a healthy planet. When our animals are killed off we will soon follow. And Ethan's Dad should not have allowed this interaction. He put his boys at risk as well as the deer. Enjoying wildlife at a safe distance is paramount to presserving it. Thank you for allowing my comment.

Used to have a deer that lived near our house in the countryside, called him bucky. He used to occasionally come into our garden and drink from the river bank. At one point i look out of my window and the dude is just sleeping by a tree in the garden. I say he used to live by our house not because he moved away, but because he got shot by a poacher who thought that the areas around our house were free hunting ground, cause we had a lot of wild boar, deer, and pheasant. We own all the fields around our house and none of them are open to poachers or hunting in general, unless rented by a pheasant farm or clay pigeon shoot. We know it was a poacher cause we saw him do it, i was with my dad down by the river that goes through one of our fields. Bucky was on the other side, eating some grass. Then a boom, and he fell into the water. A guy comes running down the hill on the other side and walks up to bucky. My dad starts raging at him while im crying. He was fined and had his shooting license revoked, cause he had no permit to shoot on our land.

Has the Internet really made people *THIS* ignorant? When I was a kid Ethan’s age, three elk came roaming by our camp. My dad’s immediate reaction was to put my mother and I up on the roof of the cabin so they couldn’t get us, because a rampaging bull elk can still get into a house. This guy? Serbian Orthodox 453 Deer are usually timid. That's the only reason people aren't attacked more often. They are wild, unpredictable and, especially during the rutting season, can be dangerous. I've seen deer rip apart small trees in frustration, usually before they turn and charge at an opponent. It's quite spectacular to watch... and then downright terrifying when you realise that you're standing mid way between the two opponents and you're holding a noisy Jack Russell terrier who wants to join the fight. 😜 The people in the clip are feeding the deer bread (which is not good for its health) and the dad is allowing a small disobedient child to get far too close. That child's movements could be misinterpreted and if he gets hurt who will be blamed? The dad? Nope, not at all. It's the deer that will be blamed!

Ethan quickly developed a deep hate for deer and helped create the highly edited discovery UK special about an Anaconda eating a full grown deer whole.. As the years passed Ethan had pondered many times on his life and its many failures..but it would seem that his darkest thoughts always brought him back to that deer. After smoking some indica and taking some Xanax Ethan reached an epiphany, his mind was clouded with spastic thoughts of hooves, antlers, Xanax and failures..but in that moment Adult Ethan was reminded about his only success, That saturated documentary UK special on anacondas eating a deer... With a grin and an attention span than can only be properly described as "autistic" Ethan set his alarm clock, grabbed a sheet of paper and penciled down his newly thought plans. The paper on which Ethan's rapid thoughts were penned was ironically a prescription pad for a drug called Ritalin, that poor Ethan Neglected to get filled many many years ago, when his dad made him see a specialist.. The very next day Ethan got in touch with his old pals at discovery UK and with the idea and expired Script pad in hand, he was on his way. Understandably, Discovery was very much reluctant to agree and confused over his reasoning for wanting to even produce the show. Non the less, they caved under the onslaught of constant talking from him and decided to give him the green light so he'd shut the fuck up and leave. And then Ethan was off with his newly acquired by annoyance; minimal budget, to produce the special "Ethan gets eaten alive by an Anaconda". The show itself proved challenging to Ethan but with his unmatched high energy and complete lack of concentration, he was confident in attempting to complete the job. Ethan snorted and sneered as he wrapped himself with pressure resistant armor. He was not very focused, consumed deep in thought "Today's the day where I get my second success, and just like my favorite success, that fuckin deer getting eaten alive by an Anaconda. "You hear me dear!?" Snarled Ethan mentally, "I too will get eaten by an Anaconda! and then I, Ethan, will have a second success, just like that dag nabbed deer!" As the deceitful Documentary channels cameras started to whirr so did Ethan's heckling, and the Anaconda began to constrict this middle aged washout with all it's might. "This is it thought Ethan! That fuckin deer is going to wish he never walked up to me or my intelligent brother!! Now all I have to do is get eaten and then I'll be Commonwealth rich!" Excitement, joy and a newly renowned sense of purpose enveloped the simple man. "This is it, this is it." What poor Ethan neglected to remember about anaconda's is that they don't eat anything that's still moving or alive. And just like the incident many many years ago when Ethan was just a stupid, stupid fucking boy..His excitement, ADHD and general lack of calmness had ruined what very well could of been, his very last chance at success.. As Ethans highly impatient body squirmed and fidgeted, he began failing for what normally is (for virtually every other man woman or child on Earth) a very simplistic and straightforward task. Something so basic that to the rest of us it just seems trivial, But as for poor retarded Ethan, it most certainly was anything but.. Ethan's mind raced, imbued with thoughts of self arm and his eyes began to swell,steadily increasing and dampening the harsh arid dirt beneath him and the hungry Anaconda. "It's Your fuckin fault" thought Ethan, It's that God damned deer, it ruined everything in my life. Sobs turned to high pitched wailing and loud maniacal laughing as he cursing the entire species of deer as a whole. Ethan was never quite the same after that.. Ethan was traumatized further and emotionally battered.. To this day Ethan still manages to neglect decompressing and/or just recovering and moving forward from his stupid ordeals, in part due to his inability to pay attention and stay on topic with his Psychiatrist.. Legend has it that Ethan is still trying to feed a deer by hand, and rumor has it that Ethan got his job back at little ceasers but to this day continues to mess up order's by ignoring the customers wishes with complete and utter disregard, always deciding to just make the pizzas the way he wants them to be made, with the toppings he loves most.. Especially when his brother or Dad come in to the pizzeria to place an order..
