@@AnnemieM I eat meat and don't want to, used to be vegan tried multiple diets but I can't consume enough nutrients for my genetics and allergies unless I pay a lot of money on nuts and have hemp protein (and I can't eat much of either). When my father dies who is a millionaire or if I make enough money before than, I'm starting a animal sanctuary myself for dogs, cats, wolves, cows, pigs, chickens, goats ect. And they will all have a lott of space as I'm planning on getting 400 acres.

@@ianthescientist8827 I have always been thinner than the recommended BMI, but have managed to gain weight after going vegan by using resistance training, and focusing on calorically dense whole foods like peanuts, dried fruit, and fruit and protein smoothies. I don't use traditional protein powders. I use the relatively cheap peanut butter powder. Besides peanuts, sunflower seeds are fairly cheap. Don't fear soy. Tofu is also a cheap source of protein. If you can eat legumes, they are famously cheap.

Yes, and I have alot of respect for him about that. There are so many heartless people out there, so it's a blessing when we see some truly good souls. Unfortunately, it's not the majority. It's also not the majority of animals who get saved by these great people. At 4:16, we see "A few lucky animals get to live in sanctuaries". What is so sad is how it is just a few, only a small percentage of pigs live in sanctuaries instead of the horrible factory farms and then die long before their time. You can see how much larger the masses of pigs are in factory farms than the amount of saved pigs in sanctuaries. Same with cows, sheep, and chickens. Also with them, it's probably less than 10% of those animals in sanctuaries and over 90% of them are on factory farms and then slaughtered. I wish that the ratio on this was much different, I really do

I don't know how long it all took, but he got the pig to trust him and then took it to the sanctuary. It was so sad and amazing what he did. First, the baby pIg following everyone around, adorable. The photographer said something I feel whenever I watch a rescue video, that feeing of sadness for the animals who aren’t rescued. Even when it’s a dog rescued from a well, I think of the ones who weren’t rescued. I’ve never eaten meat, that choice was taken from me as a kid. But I’ve never really been angry that I can’t eat meat. I was sad about the trauma that facilitated my inability to eat meat but I never really wished I could eat it. Maybe bc I love animals so much. As I’ve grown up I’ve thought about the morality of eating meat vs the fact humans are natural omnivores. I e tried to be very pragmatic bc I’ve seen how radicalism has pushed ppl away from the conversation. On the other hand if I day in and day out had to see animal torture I’d probably bc wearing a black mask liberating every farm animal I could, setting the labs on fire. Testing on animals is evil. There is no primal food drive there. Especially cosmetics and other products. You can at least make the case that medical testing saves lives. I reject that of course. I won’t get into the ethics of that and go to the practical. Medical testing on animals doesn’t make much sense bc they aren’t humans. There was a study in France where the human trails began after the animal studies went well with no harm to the animals. The humans all became deathly ill. In horrific pain. At least one died. The others traumatized. The drs couldn’t figure out what went wrong since none of that happened with the animals. It’s bc they aren’t human and their bodies don’t react to medication the way humans do. There are other ways of getting the data necessary. It’s immoral. Food production needs to change. Factory farms cause more co2 and other green house gases then any other sector. Even if you don’t care about animals then hopefully you care about a habitable planet.

Not only do they want to live, each animal has his/her own charming and delightful personality. God took the same care on animals that he did with us. Furthermore, it was the barnyard animals that witnessed the birth of Christ, not the Magi or the Shepherds. Since God does nothing without design or carelessly ❤, He must love them too. Animals stand as an opportunity for humans to learn compassion, but so many will not choose to learn😢

Having spent many years rescuing/ feeding/ neutering those without voice to the extent that one of modest means can, I've seen suffering. Yet, I remain, basically, an optimistic person. However, their being, still, many the time when---- despite my donating all that I have to organizations with volunteers consistently in all manner of trench, hence, gaining more ground than I could ever imagine--- the only way my being able to deal with the knowledge of the horrors, the barbarism to which billions of animals being subjected each year (and children too, but that being another heartfelt commentary) while still experiencing a modicum of sleep at night, followed by putting one foot in front of the other the next morning, is by believing our still living in the dark ages by virtue of an unimaginable number of young souls (despite outwardly appearing age) living amongst us. Horrific, dark ages where the only thing "separating" researcher, factory farmer or greedy corporate personnel from sociopath being license and greenback. Regarding the propensity for hiding one's head in the sand to avoid that painful or shaming, we, the public, forever motivated by want and ego, having been worse than any ostrich. However, due to the internet's exposing cruel practices per "in our face" (albeit, money-making) tactic, the collective global community, i.e., the human race, like the heretofore sleeping giant, is, however seemingly slowly, awakening to the call of conscience. I know predominate enlightenment won't happen with my generation nor, I suspect, with those numerous, yet, to come; but, it's on its way, and when it arrives there will be no rock big enough under which the barbarians can hide.

Treating animals like machines and treating animals like people are two extremes that really disgust me. Life isn't a machine, but all these animals are also not just like people. Eventually you'll realize that we all plants and animals evolved from the same cell and these distinctions that we make for animals that are warm and fuzzy while we have no problems killing trillions of insects, is just based on our own arrogance, hubris, and what we choose to identify with.
@SS-uo3uf
@SS-uo3uf 4 жыл бұрын
Nobody should kill insects on purpose. But a lot of insects are pests and killed out of self defence. There is a difference between me killing a mosquito that is trying to bite me and me killing a mosquito because I felt like it. Even though it's tiny, in this case, it is the predator and I am a victim. Also, killing insects can be avoided in a lot of cases if we take care of hygiene. Also, most insects are not killed on purpose or for fun. You really can't equate the accidental death of an insect to a killing an animal on purpose. It's not logical to equate the two. We as a civilization have reached a point where raising and killing animals for food is no longer a requirement. And that is a fact, whether you like it or not. Now, we have reached a point where we kills animals and decorate their flesh in the name of cuisine. It's sadistic to say the least. It's not survival anymore. Similarly anybody who kills an insect because they enjoy watching it die or like collecting their dead bodies or eating them is equally sadistic. And just because we come from the same cells doesn't mean you should go about trampling over everything you set sight on. Just because you have the tools to hurt somebody doesn't mean you should do it. Other living creatures are just as alive as us and that is a fact. That is an understanding that comes only when can really understand biology and nature. Most of us have never experienced nature in its true form. Nothing should not be harmed unless we absolutely have to.

No one is telling you to put animals on the same pedestal as humans. All they are saying is to aknowlegdge that ending their entire life over a 5 minute sandwich is not justified when you can live and thrive off of other foods.
@oolong2
@oolong2 3 жыл бұрын
@@FastdounutTV You can make the same argument about ending the life of a plant. In case you didn't realize it plants are lifeforms too and most of the plants we consume can't live without some form of animal biological activity. As a substitute for animals industrial farms rely on oil in the form of petrochemicals to create fertilizers and pesticides made to kill the animals that would eat the lettuce that goes on your sandwich.... Never mind the TRILLIONS of other animals that also get killed by the same pesticides even though they don't care about your lettuce. All life forms are on a pedestal as far as I'm concerned and all life should be respected in different ways. That's what indigenous populations learned over time and that's what we should learn too. This idea of being "moral" when we only care about the warm fuzzy animals being killed Is just being conceited. It is based on the belief that our form of life is the only thing of value. We ignore the billions of animals killed by our own pets because in our minds we just think we're better and "more evolved" than other animals simply for having a brain that is slightly more complex in one area. But other animals killing other animals is fine, because they're just dumb right? The reality is all life consumes other life, that's the way it has always been for billions of years. Even humans are consumed by viruses, bacteria, fungi, and numerous parasites even though we've mostly figured out how to protect ourselves from larger animals.

@@adrianb3015 so your justification is we're already causing harm, lets keep causing more harm that's not needed? Or like a child says, if he can do such and such, why can't I do such and such. Problem is, your "choice" involves a victim that gets their life ended for a 5 min sandwich. When someone else is involved, your personal choice Is no longer a personal choice.
@oolong2
@oolong2 3 жыл бұрын
@@adrianb3015 Exactly... I agree with everything you said. I have more respect for people who hunt, grow their food, and take care of the land than people who project a moral judgement on everyone else just because they buy a vegan burger with no concept of everything it took to get it to their table. The bottom line is we need to learn how to coexist with our environment. Smaller farms, local farms, permaculture, sustainability, creating ecosystems, bringing food sources closer into cities rather than shipping everything thousands of miles. People don't realize that there is a huge difference between growing a cow on a factory farm vs growing a cow on a pasture. Never mind all the other types of animals that can be supported in a sustainable way. There is far more more to the world than just beef, pork, and chicken.

Humans are the only animals to drink cows milk (baby calf growth fluid full of puss and blood) and only animals to mass kill million of animals for every meal of the week not including the obese people who get a big mac every 5 minutes. We do not kill to survive we kill for gluttony and selfish reasoning. The big difference is that we can THRIVE without meat as primarily herbiour animals. And we are smart enough to know the consequences not only on the animals but the environment, land, and world hunger. Yet humans continue their selfishness for an endorphin when eating processed meat that will eventually kill us.
