I have Dekoni Blue, Blessing 2 Dusk, 7Hz Timeless, M50X, and many othwr great sets but still use my HD58X a lot, absolutely love that set for music, gaming, and everything in-between.

I'm glad you got into real headphones. I used to own sennheisser headphones, also plantronics are good too. But since I needed portability I just own airpods pro now lol, it's not the best but it's decent enought.

I have the Sennheiser HD 598SE. And it's similar. Open back, very comfortable to wear for long term and clear sound.

I just ordered a used set of these 58X Jubilee headphones off Facebook Marketplace for $150 USD, including shipping. It's actually pretty awesome that I found these because I'm in the Philippines, and Sennheiser stuff is really expensive or hard to come by compared to the US. So I'm excited to try them out when they arrive. I'm coming from another pair of Sennheiser, the HD 280 Pro, which I bought when I was in college because they're closed back and isolate noise. I also have a pair of Galaxy Buds Pro, which I use for on the go listening. My audiophile and music friends have suggested that I try a good open-back pair, like the HD 600 or 650, but those are a little out of my price range right now, especially factoring that you'll probably need more gear to go with them to run properly.

@@mikafoxx2717 I really like them. I'm still rocking them, though I ordered a 2.5 mm balanced cable for them so that I can pair it with my FiiO BTR5 2021 Bluetooth DAC/Amp. I've also changed out the ear pads and the headband pad. Running them wireless on my phone and laptop has been awesome. I probably look like a doofus when I'm walking my dog outside and wearing them, but I don't care. 😂 To be fair, I don't have much basis of comparison for anything that's more expensive or better, but I'm satisfied with how it sounds. It truly shines in the mid-range frequencies, treble is clear, and bass is smooth, despite the roll-off in the sub bass region. It works for gaming since it does seem like you get directional info, though I'm just playing Elden Ring, so I can't talk about how good it is for Apex Legends, Valorant, CS:GO, Fortnite, or anything competitive like that. The head clamping force is something you may or may not like. I don't mind it, and I don't have a particularly big head (I'm like a medium in adult bike helmet sizes), but after a few hours, I do feel it.

I don't have a fiio btr5 but it was going to be my next audio purchase, since my phone struggles with my 400i's. Hopefully you used brand name pads since I've heard others mess up the sound.

Nice review, not too technical & well found! I've just got these headphones today via the drop site after extensive research, they are brilliant. Many say they are better than the Sennheiser HD650s which cost at least three times as much, certainly in the UK where I am. I'm not sure about that as I'm not about to pay $500 plus for headphones. I would recommend you get a DAC amp for them to maximise their potential and really get the best listening experience. You don't need to spend a fortune on one. Happy listening!

i thought the same about galaxy buds UNTIL i changed the plastic thing to another size. oml, the sounds was insane, and it's better than any headphones i've ever heard. the bass is so good and the sound honestly made me appreciate music more. plus, there's a pre installed app on samsung phones that lets you personalize the sound (more bass, less treble, more dynamics etc) and the ambient mode is really neat too if you wanna hear surrounding noises. and the battery life is 9 hours, with an additional 4 i'm pretty sure. you should def try changing the tip, it makes a world of a difference!

I think there is only one thing I don't like about these headphones and that's the audio leak. In fact, it's a deal breaker. When we go back to school (physically), I'll need 0% leakage to be in the library. I love the library. Otherwise, I think it'd get these, too! In any case, I always preferred earphones over headphones. Headphones are too bulky.
