I am from a construction family background and went to a flea market and i ended up buying this paper doll cut out set for $2.00. wouldn't you know it, a guy i knew from the trade saw me carrying it. he really rubbed my nose into it but i wore it with pride when he tried bringing it up a few weeks later at the tavern to everyone asking if i played with my paper dolls today? Nope , I sold that $2 doll set which made me just shy of a $100 after it ran thru the auction. i will buy anything for $2 for that kind of turn around in a week.

Yep, i hate ebay sellers that do that, end auctions early. I have been asked quite a few times to end my auctions early for a buy it now price but i just tell them that once i start an auction i leave it go all the way thru. Of all the time i was offered, i would have made out better just once. when i have a seller that pulls that on me i add them to my do not buy from list i keep here next to my computer which prevents me in running prices up for them. I don't think it isn't fair if they only sell when they get a big payday so i don't even participate with those characters. If they want to pull that, what other shenanigans are they trying to pull on you?

first guy drove me nuts, i had a hard time watching him. i know a guy like that who thinks their items are always gold. guy thought his toy collection was worth $30,000 plus and i couldn't see it. I did give him a $1500 cash offer. he said i had the highest offer but turned me down and took it to a local auction house. Next time i saw him he told me he should have taken my offer, he only got a couple hundred out of it but then it was all the auction company fault he didn't get may thousands more for it though. . what do you expect buying stuff at goodwill?

I have a bunch of Gotz dolls, they don't sell. They did make the first few American girls but Pleasant company bought them a long time ago and Gotz hasn't made American Girl dolls since the early 1990's. This guy is super annoying, everything is worth $5,000

The first guy was doing extremely dangerous and speculative items. The correct answer is no or a lowball price that mitigates risk properly. He had done plenty of research to see that there was no way to do proper market research on those items with huge spreads, no other listings, etc. Then he tried to squeeze based on the most speculative of prices. Furthermore cancelling auctions is probably a terms of service violation that can get you banned and admitting that he is largely running scam auctions on video shows how he is pretty much a stereotypical con man.

It also depends how fast the item would sell. I believe a lot of the time Pete goes for a smaller profit if he knows the item won't sit for too long. It makes sense from a business standpoint to counterbalance the possibility of item sitting on a shelf for some time with making bigger profit eventually.
