Great video about strike plates. When my friend buy or move into a new place, (If allowed) I always tell them to the replace the screw at the strick plate and the hinges with atleast 3 in. construction screws. Also to change the key bitting of the door. #LockBoss

Major Mfg make a lot of great products. The suppliers never stock many of their items...With a fresh Adams rite installation if you don't use their mounting tabs you did a half assed job...

I can almost guarantee The second one is not for a strike plate. If I'm not mistaken it's for the latch bolt, it would be used on the steel doors that are joined in the center and have a seam that is about a quarter inch on the inside, that's why it has the ends cut out at the center. Ive used it in this scenario before and it worked great.

I get the first one could look nice and be a dust box. But in a metal frame. why do you need to bother and put a strike plate? the whole prame is the strike plate.

Definitely agree. The frame is usually good enough. Cool concept though. I’d like to see the tool that bevels the edge of the door to allow the strike plate to mount to the end the of the door.

The last comment I made on a previous video was that it was kind of creepy that your videos have been reflecting the kind of information that I've needed on the jobs I've currently been getting. It's scary that it's still continuing with this video. I don't know if I should be happy about it or if I should get a restraining order. 🤣 Maybe the #Lockboss hashtag should be changed to "Lockstalker." On a related note, after running into a metal doorjamb (ouch!) last week and MacGyvering the deadbolt hole, and needing to cut another hole for another metal doorjamb coming up here soon, I purchased a "CaNibble Drill Attachment Nibbler" to cut out the hole. I'm hoping this will be a good option for this type of job. What do you think about this method? Have you heard of anyone else using this device (or something similar) for this purpose?
