It never applies to them. Like Fauci (I refuse to call him Dr. Fauci, that shows him too much respect) said, "if we can make it uncomfortable enough for them....they'll get vaccinated). We saw Nancy Pelosi getting her hair cut and Newsom eating at a restaurant WITHOUT masks. Hmm. And we remember what they said. First they said, "Masks don't help". They changed that to "you HAVE to wear a mask". It wasn't a recommendation, they made sure businesses were made to FORCE us to wear them or you were kicked out. I also remember democrats saying that if Trump made a vaccine available, they were NOT going to take it since they couldn't trust it. Then they FORCED us to take it to keep your job. It was not optional for healthcare workers (I was one) and many other fields. People lost their jobs. How can we trust anything they say? It was a test to see if they could do what the Nazis developed. Come up with a system where neighbors inform on their neighbors. It was a test. Unfortunately, many of us failed.

I was forced to get the jab to keep my job at WFM - as a frozen order-writer, working all day and night in a freezer was damn near impossible due to the mandatory masks. I wear glasses and can't afford contacts, and the management team kept eyes on the cameras to make sure people were wearing their masks - even outside of store hours. The only way they would let me remove my mask to work, was to get the damn shot - that or be let go. So I did what I was told in order to get the job done and to keep my employment...now I'm questioning if all of my random health problems are due to the shit in that shot.

A lot of us did it. When it got to the point of not being able to go anywhere without your "passport" lest you be denied access, many of us grudgingly took the jab. I couldn't maintain my income without playing the game their way, like many others. I had to take a realtime photo with my mask on to sign in to work, I had to make a big display of all the so-called safe practices to dodge complaints, it was ridiculous. Despite three rounds, I caught it three times in two years, the last time dragging out for over a year before my doctor was able to help me manage symptoms by giving me inhalers that he knew I couldn't afford.

I'm a preschool teacher and I witnessed just how damaging cvd-19 regs were to children. There are so many children, way more than normal in speech therapy, just to learn how to speak. They don't know how to read emotions on anyone because of the muzzles we forced on eachother. That's just what I saw in preschool, that's not elementary or high school.

Taking a photograph with a mask is obviously pointless, and, on the other hand, having to wear a mask _when in public_ doesn't mean you can't take it down if you're alone - or with someone who doesn't carry a disease - in order to take a photograph of yourself. Anyway, the use of aggressive rhetoric like this ("liar", "sleep- sheep" etc.) is the other side of the coin of overly strict rules.

Who tried to point out where they were wrong. Those doctors, medical professionals and scientist were canceled, lost their jobs, lost their livelihood, had their lives threatened, and all kinds of other heinous acts. They did try to step up and say something, but they were squashed, dismissed and had their reputations ruined in the process. Those people need to be brought back into the spotlight and heralded as heroes and their reputations, jobs and expertise reestablished.

I have a lot of sympathy for those people. I cited articles from years before the pandemic where medical professions discussed prior lab leaks (smallpox, MERS etc). Similarly, previous economic depressions had projections of substantial deaths of despair. So when challenging the orthodoxy was punished, it was clear that in medical terms what was being discussed wasn't 'beyond the pale'. Additionally, it seems like Fauci was prepared to lie from the start. In the public rush for protective equipment, he said some of it wasn't effect presumably to enable the medical profession to scoop it up. Ok, you can justify that as a white lie, but after people have reason to doubt you, it's hard to smash them for questioning. The other detail is that his answers place a burden of proof on others. If something may be effective, he could say we took an educated guess. But it's an incorrect approach. The government should be subject to 'what are we allowed to do?' rather than 'what are we not allowed to do?'. The flu demonstates this. Does it kill people? absolutely. But the approach to that tries to balance - rather than handing over the reins for the health gestapo to do everything they think could have a greater than 0.01 chance of being helpful. There were famines and military takeovers during the shutdown. If money wasn't flowing, tinpot dictators could decide that they might as well consolidate power - rather than paint a smiling face on their regimes to get investment or tourism. You weren't even allowed to try to make a list of pros and cons to make sure the math added up. Das ist verboten.

Well good on you. I got thrown off public transportation because of arguing about masks. I’m in my 60s and 70% Vet SRD. I had the cops called on me because I purchased a sandwich so I could sit inside while I was waiting on my bus, in the middle of winter, but my state had again, shut down indoor dinning, so I was supposed to eat my sandwich out in the rain and cold, not in the store. I told them I’m eating my sandwich inside, which I did, until it was time to go to my buss stop, and never entered that sandwich place again. I have no idea if the Cops ever showed. Every fricken store in my area complied with state “guidelines”, to the point where some of them went out of business. This meant I had to, or I could not do business with them. Even arguing that these were guidelines not regulations, which my state could not make, made no difference to them (This did make me notice a whole lot of dead eyes.). Hells, the local churches were sitting outside, under tents, during the winter, to comply with state “guidelines”. That’s how ludicrous things got. Yeah, I got the Jab, even though as far as I know I have never gotten Covid and I knew that I was way more likely to die of Heart Disease or Cancer (I did the numbers.), because the State told me I would get my life back (They lied.). I spent 10 years in the US Navy, constantly getting jabbed every time I deployed/detached, so what was one more jab. Not seeing the blood dot on the second shot, and the person who gave me the shot not being able to find the needle entry point for the cotton ball does not exactly give me a lot of confidence in this jab. Now I wonder if my increase in pain over the past few years is because of just getting older or is it the Jab. I’m an Independent and I understand why we have and enforce “our” laws, and I do not just follow them because I have been indoctrinated to follow laws, unlike much of the Right. I’m older, in more pain, and angrier then I was in 2020. If things go sideways again I’m going to be carrying this time.

I said it since the beginning when 14 days of lockdown was being floated around. If they do this, if people allow it, then from here on out the government has their excuse to basically martial law everyone under “health and safety”. It was only the beginning, and Covid showed you who the lemmings were, who the free thinkers were, and who the sell outs are.

Don't be too hard on her, or any of the 'crazy mandaters'. At the end of the day, she was just terrified of losing what's most important to her. You. She would've done anything against her better judgement if it could guarantee the safety of her precious family. And they pretty much made people believe there was 100 percent chance you will catch it, and then 100 percent chance you would die.

Right it's easy to forget now but it was very scary and confusing times, people where scared to lose their or their families lives (and many did lose their lives specially in the beginning). I feel it kind of led almost to a mass panic where some choices were pretty ridiculous as others even possibly criminal when we think about them now.

@@MovingAlong742 Quite agree. It's easy to look for excuses now, but many of the vaccinated were siding with the governments and their 'experts' against the unvaccinated. I had people at my work saying I should be fired for not wanting the jab(s) and had many arguments with bus drivers and train drivers and transport police for "not following the rules" and now Faucci and others are saying "What rules? Nothing to do with me!". What many of the sheep are forgetting is if they had not complied so heavily, those people in power (now trying to pretend it was nothing to do with them) would not have been able to enforce this ridiculous nonsense. I just hope they remember all this next time round....

They'll probably end up saying the same exact things when this this bird flu becomes the new pandemic. CDC are basically repeating the same things as they were when CV19 was starting to spread. So far it's only confined to people in the farming community as they have to work with the animals who have bird flu and how it's under control despite some farm workers already started to be infected with it but don't worry, CDC has everything under control! Talk about deja vu! LOL!

Please stop, the reason everyone talked about not wanting the mask on their face or refusing the vaccines were purely fueled by feelings, not logic. Only now that we have supporting evidence you decided to put yourself above everyone else and call yourself "someone with common sense". I understand that not reading how medical masks affect children before mandating them to wear them is very upsetting, but we also have to understand that it wasn't even a problem science world discussed actively pre-pandemic. It just wasn't a massive problem, so there weren't much studies, if any at all. Humanity tried doing what it could by using materials easily available to the majority of people and it worked. Kinda sorta worked, with some huge repercussions, but it's better than walking around spreading the virus without any regulations

@@Keshkup nope. Logic was used the entire time and others simply chose fear and complied. We all said the vaccine was rushed and properly go through trial testing. Fauci even went to the extreme of telling people to wear not just one but three masks at one point without science to back it up.

Others followed those rules because of exactly what Fauci said in that recording, Life was made harder so a lot of people conformed.

I have to say the ridiculing, ostracizing, bullying, harassment, and demonization of people who refused to mask up, get the shot, or who questioned anything at all still affects me to this day. And everyone just moved on without an apology. I was treated like I was stupid and a conspiracy theorist. Meanwhile I spent hours researching everything possible and came to the conclusion that the whole thing felt off. I still definitely have a bit of anxiety from it & feel sometimes still afraid to share my own opinions

I wore a mask and maintained social distancing because I worked in a hospital rife with COVID patients. Many of them were complete families not wearing masks, not practicing social distancing, and not getting vaccinated. Nobody will deny that the COVID rules/mandates were an immense (sometimes debilitating) hassle, and I will admit that I did not agree with all of them, but I followed them because the only thing more heartbreaking than losing multiple patients is losing multiple patients in the same family. And that was happening often.
