Really appreciate every video you upload. I learn something new every time and years ago this kind of info was unobtainable unless you knew someone in the industry.

Yep! My list is pretty much the same this year too. Only stuff I’d add for me is the Make Believe plugin stuff too (Sontec EQ, MBEQ, Good math, Kevin’s Limiter, etc). Literally used those on every mix & master this year 🔥🔥🔥By the way, happy new year Beau! Cheers to 2024!

Totally agree on both the fab filter stuff and echo boy jr being the most essential delay plugin in the known universe.

El Juan is sweet. All of Dan's stuff is really top notch. As soon as one comes out, it immediately becomes essential.

I love Korneff audio. Dan is amazing, and giving El Juan for free is a very sweet thing to do!

Big yes for the accurate midi. As i do quite a bit of editing for engineers and my own having to check every note to make sure it hit everything is so time consuming.

Its a lot of work, But the pay off is knowing you've got it 100% accurate and much better mixes. It takes a special kind of person to enjoy this stuff the way we do. :)

Is your gate still that de-bleed phase reverse trick from the Saosin NTM? I always forget to give that a go
@Beau.Burchell9 ай бұрын
ya.. it still gives me the most flexibility and precision

Loving the new content! Would love to see a snare drum mixing video if you're taking requests 😀 The drum sounds on the new Paper Flowers and Sea Floor Cinema tracks are unreal. Theres this perfect balance of close mic transient and ambient smack that blows my mind.

That blucat is a cash move. I can finally use phoenix in logic😂 but im right there with you on El Juan. After using inflatir, kore is more, and jst/jw bus glue, i finally got a mainstay limiter

I had no idea vst wrappers existed, wow!

This is 🆒 😎! DUDE! I can't WAIT for new Saosin music. & If Anthony is "too busy" , some of us would prefer Cove anyway! Just sayin! Love you brother Beau! (PS) if Cove isn't an option, we'd take a singerless Saosin album! Hahaha your guitars and Alex's drums are as good as it gets!

Man ive been playing guitar for 15 years and am just trying to get into recording it. Its so intimidating
@swampmanbfe9 ай бұрын
It's intimidating now, but it all becomes second nature as you keep leveling up. It's a skill that you perpetually grow. As long as you are learning something new each day, the experience starts to compound on itself. Check out Nail The Mix, if you haven't already. There's a lot of stuff there geared towards making the beginning stages less painful. Good luck in your journey! 🤘

I have been lobe TANTRA 2 , just turn anything into cool rhythmic sequences and has a great onboard set of effects, sounds are insanely good, and seems underrated but great for making audio candy from spare channels of anything at all. or fattening channels with effected stuff in parralel
@Beau.Burchell9 ай бұрын
That sounds rad. I’ll check it out! Thanks for sharing.

And the waves magma springs is a killer mastering plug a super subtle classic reverb sprint unit , all you need is is like 13% mix of it in the plugin itself and a/b your master it’s so subtle you can only tell when it’s not on it just adds a sweetening bit of space after multicomp

But can you use Massey drt thru blucat to make midi outside of Protools?
@mikalow269 ай бұрын
Like using Massey in Ableton instead of protools
@Beau.Burchell9 ай бұрын
That’s a good question. But I believe blue cat only allows for plugins that can be inserted on audio tracks. DTR is a audiosuite processor. Meaning it doesn’t get inserted on a track like a regular plugin insert
