Love the videos! Cant wait to get out there on some topwater during memorial day weekend! About that Wii Game....Bass Pro sponsored a game called "The Strike". It is a pretty amazing game for its age. It has lakes from around the country and many different species, lures, and rods. They have it on the OG Wii that came out in the early 2000s and they did a revamp with better graphics for the Switch. Both games even comes with a fishing rod prop. I highly recommend it. Its one of my go to boredom games. Would make an interesting video :)

Ha! Pond 39 is my "home" pond - I'm just a couple of neighborhoods away. I know you caught small fish there, but my 8.5 and 7.4 pounders came out of there too, and I saw a high school kid get a 10 pounder out of there not too long ago. You're right though - lots of small fish there. Bigger ones are few and far between, but they're there. (Both of my big ones were caught at night on chatterbaits. My most recent one was 6 weeks ago, just on the left side of that rocky point.)
@TylersReelFishing2 жыл бұрын
Well that’s great to know haha! I may have to try it again. It is pretty clean bottom far from the bank?
@RobWebster2 жыл бұрын
@@TylersReelFishing Yeah, there's definitely a lot of algae (esp. now) and vegetation going out about ten feet all around, but then it gets pretty clean. More than any other pond I've fished, a dropshot works great in this one when nothing else is working, for whatever reason. And the chatterbait has been great at night, obviously.
@JohnUSAofficial2 жыл бұрын
pond number 39 probably did have some big ones it’s just that there are probably a lot more small ones. but i’ve fished ponds that have 1/4 ice cream cone bass and then caught 2 lbers so idk

Recently found your channel as I have started back fishing after a 20 year hiatus. Went out last weekend and caught several nice bass on the pond using your soft bait recommendations (ocho and shad). Would you do a video on Catch And Release? I am curious to know what you do exactly and your opinion of the idea. I have seen you release fish in your videos. Several of the fish I caught the other day were mortally wounded. Just curious to know all your thoughts and how to catch and release properly. Thank you and love the channel!
@TylersReelFishing2 жыл бұрын
Hi Tom! I’m glad you have found the channel and are enjoying and learning! I catch and release all of my bass, and rarely have mortality issues. That usually happens when you throat hook a fish, usually from having them eat your worm for too long. I just don’t have that issue very much anymore. Just takes a lot of time to learn when they have it, and set the hook in time!

I'm just curious, do you specifically go to ponds from word of mouth or Fishbrain that actually have bass in them? Went pond hopping to some that I have not fished before. Spent 5 hours in total to only have bluegill nip at my baits. Dropshot, ned rig, compact jig, wacky worm, and jackhammer were all used at each of the 3 ponds. I'm convinced some neighborhood associations only put bait fish in their ponds for a reason. Any thought?
@TylersReelFishing2 жыл бұрын
Most ponds in Texas neighborhoods have bass in them, mainly because they were old farm ponds. There are a few though that don’t have any fish in them, that I leave out of the series

Tyler, excuse my ignorance, but why is your fishing spot at the 4:00 mark a "point"? I thought points were places where land jutted out into the water. Still trying to understand all the terminology. TIA.
@TylersReelFishing2 жыл бұрын
You are correct in saying that. If you look at the drone shot, and notice the concrete, you will notice that it continues underwater to form a point. Not all points are physical land above water

@RobWebster2 жыл бұрын
Yes. This is my "home" pond, and the trash is obnoxious. Really nice neighborhood too. THe playground and fields nearby get lots of use - it's a very active, fun area. I wish people took better care of it.
@NC_Fisher_Guy2 жыл бұрын
there is only one thing I don't like about this series is that you don't bring up getting permission from pond owners. In my neighborhood, the pressure is so bad that it's difficult to catch fish with proven strategies like the wacky rig. we have people trespassing and fishing the pond at least 3 times a week.
@TylersReelFishing2 жыл бұрын
98% of the ponds in this series are public, so there is no need to get permission
@NC_Fisher_Guy2 жыл бұрын
@@TylersReelFishing thanks. Any ideas on discouraging trespassers? It's HOA land. But the fishermen (mostly teens) come in anyway, leave trash, build pressure and leave.
@TylersReelFishing2 жыл бұрын
Not really much you can do. If the neighborhood doesn’t have a gate, you especially can’t do anything. “Private Property” signs dont really mean anything if there’s a bunch of people walking their dogs around the pond and easy parking access.
@NC_Fisher_Guy2 жыл бұрын
@@TylersReelFishing well, you’re welcome to come up and fish at the ponds in my neighborhood. Caught a nice 2.4 yesterday on a spinnerbait.
