I’ve had yeast in my freezer for 2.5 years and it still works beautifully! Thanks for your tips Gubba!

That's how I felt at first too but just take one step at a time. The important thing is to just start.

I don’t know why I never thought about the dry beans increasing in ounces when you soak them, but that totally makes sense! Thanks!

I put all my bulk dry beans and grains in the deep freezer for 4 or five days, before I store them in buckets. It kills all the bug eggs. Haven’t had an issue with weevils. Also make sure the beans and grains fully thaw and dry for another day or 2 before storing in buckets so nothing molds.

It's SO easy to save big with a few small things. A little extra work at times but SO very worth it 🙏

Yeah 200 bucks last week for maybe a week or two worth of food. It’s gotten pretty ridiculous. I do need to make more beans bread and potatoes those are my favorites. 😊😎

Right! it's crazy and will only get worse.

It's insane. I spend no less than 700 dollars a month for my family of 3 🥺 and that's with me making most everything from scratch. It is so disheartening. We are trying our best to get our homestead but it definitely is taking way longer than we hoped🥺

I went to our local grocery store and saw they were selling eggs for 7 dollars a carton. These were not even farm fresh either. My jaw DROPPED. Thankfully, my husband and I trade homemade bread that I make for eggs his coworker has from his ducks/chickens. I stopped shopping at that grocery store because of that reason alone

I have been storing all types beans for years. Some in 5 gallon buckets, most vacumn sealed in quart glass jars. Also, rice. I cannot afford Azure Standard. Nor can I afford Sams Club or Costco memberships.

Why would you want to go to a grocery store? All of the grocery stores I visited are expensive. Competition is not a popular topic for food production, so this is why prices are high. If competition is not a problem then I think maybe you would be paying almost nothing or maybe nothing for food. When you go to buy your food there is only a certain amount of food that is for sale in a grocery store, and for the food to get there it has to be produced then delivered then placed for sale, so there are 3 different stages, and they all have to be paid for.

A Dr. Gundry on KZbin says beans are loaded with lectins and should be pressure cooked. Do you recommend pressure cooking beans?

I try to do carnivore, mostly. So I mostly eat meat and organs, eggs, raw milk, Celtic salt. And I’ve noticed I don’t feel as hungry as I used to, so I don’t tend to eat as much. So there’s some savings. 😄

@miketonon - you will feel better for a few years. You're damaging yourself long-term.
