What Joel Osteen said about prosperity made every last hair on my body stand up!! Jesus died on the cross to save us from a horrific eternal punishment, he did not die so we can live the good life!! It's so appalling how the Christian music industry is going to the dark side, therefore not leaving much quality music for true believers to listen to!! Back in the 80s and 90s Christian musicians didn't get very far in the industry but their music was the best!! I sure do miss those days!!

​@@alcox6377We attended an Assemblies of God. They seem more on top of letting false doctrines creep in. We were also in the Church of God out of Cleveland, Tenn. We left because they were starting to promote leaders in the Emergent Church Movement. They also got into Word Faith doctrines. May be some pastors that dont promote that, but we've had a hard time finding any pentecostal church in our small community that's not promoting this kind of stuff. We went to a Baptist church for a few years. A freewill because they didn't promote this doctrines. They still sang hymns, and they were not anti pentecostal.

But I'll never forget that little church where my life was totally changed. Not long after I was saved, I received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit while worshiping God at home alone in my bedroom. I knew Keith, and worked with him and Melody on the road, 1981-1982, until the plane crash in 1982. We also did sound for over 100 Americans Against Abortion rallies through the USA and Canada. Keith moved to East Texas from California to be mentored and close to men like Leonard Ravenhill, and David Wilkerson. I knew Leonard, but never met David W, but still listen to his sermons on KZbin and Sermonindex. Those men were true Christ followers, and now all of them are with Jesus!

As a new Christian almost 30 yrs ago, I loved that I could turn on my radio in my car and listen to music that praised and honored God rather than the music I had been listening to which did the exact opposite. But I quit listening several yrs ago to contemporary "Christian" music when I became aware that many artists weren't really Christian. Many had tried to break into the secular music business but weren't successful so they turned to the "Christian" market. Maybe some of these artists thought they were Christians at the beginning, but this willingness to compromise and sell out tells me they really weren't or they are just woefully ill-taught. Either way, I much prefer the old hymns now that praise God and (for the most part) have good theology. Most contemporary songs are full of "I" and "me" but never mention Jesus by name.

This is so heartbreaking! 😢 I've been listening to Gospel music (and singing it) since the early seventies, people like Keith Green, Larry Norman, Matthew Ward, Phil Keagy, 2nd Chapter of Acts, Petra, Andre Crouch and many more. People whose music was Word based and truly glorified God. Music that actually spread the Gospel and didn't just tickle people's ears. The last 20 years or so I've noticed a massive difference in Christian artists and it's really difficult nowadays to find a truly Word based artist who does not compromise.

Thank you for exposing all these musicians who call themselves Christian but are not true to the word of God. Very, very disappointing. I used to follow some of these singers until I heard about their collusion with LGBTQ. That is something I will not tolerate. In 2019, the American Psychological Association told us licensed therapists that we would have to affirm LGBTQ or risk losing our license, being sued for discrimination if we didn’t take on a case. I had two teens at the time having great success in healing from same sex manifestation by helping them resolve attachment trauma and gender inadequacy. Not hard to heal, frankly. I decided to NOT renew my license and continued with healing the two teens FREE of charge. That decision ended a $100,000 a year career but kept me in good standing with Jesus Christ. Colluding with LGBTQ is one of the many agendas of the one world government/one world religion (New World Order), what I regard as the “iron and clay feet” that breaks in pieces by “the stone cut out of the mountain” in Daniel 2:34-35. Prophesy this daily. It will come down. The judgment is set. God bless you, Jordan! Keep exposing darkness!

I left the CCM scene decades ago but still play in churches. Big compromise came in the early 2000s when CCM was signed up to secular recording labels like EMI and the whole drive was money and popularity. Worship is not singing but a response to God's grace as we serve God faithfully. I am not surprised with the Joel Osteen connection as Joel preaches "your best life now" and that is what a lot of CCM artists are living for, sadly. Sandy Patti once sang, "I'm waiting for another time and another place, when every hope and dream will be captured with one look at Jesus' face".

Sounds to me like you got what was promised...a concert. Which by definition is meant to entertain. The artists are Christian and probably make mostly or all Christian music so it is a Christian concert. What it sounds like you wanted, would be a worship night or something like that. @josea5424 It's not supposed to be. It's different. Not all of a band's performances have to be like Sunday worship. Even if they are Christian. Should they throw God out? No, "In everything you do, honor God." To throw Him out would damage their message. But you assume that this group doesn't do any ministry outside their concerts. I'm just saying don't go to something called a concert and expect Sunday morning worship. Those things are supposed to feel different.

If they are good at music and use it get eyes on them, not for the sake of having eyes on them, but for the sake of letting God be seen through them, then I think that's doing what Christians are called to do. Some might just be entertained and not go further, that's on them, not the artist. As long as the artist offers that message in their example, they are spreading the word.

It doesn't just end with Christian celebrities either. My mother raised my sister and me Christian. We are all very dedicated to Jesus. My oldest nephew, about a year ago, started dating a man who calls himself a woman. While my mom and sister don't agree with the LGBTQ lifestyle, they agree to call my nephew's boyfriend "she" so that my nephew won't get mad and sever ties with them. All of us are praying that my nephew comes back to Jesus, of course. None of us want him in that life. But are we supposed to stick the finger up at God while my nephew is around and imply that God made a mistake when he created this guy he's dating? Or doesn't God tell us not to lie? Aren't my sister's other four children going to get confused themselves when they see the authority figures in their lives calling a man a woman? Not saying to hate or be hateful to anyone. Can't we just say, "I'm sorry. I can't call you a woman because it contradicts what the bible says"? Just tell the truth? I just don't think it's okay to go along with this pronoun thing.

I had this same struggle. Feeling like I was going against my beliefs if I went along with calling people by the pronoun they preferred. However, my daughter who is currently lesbian and identifies as non-binary ripped me a new one one day because of something I said. So, I prayed on it and stayed in the scriptures and Christ revealed to me that not to forget that there are ppl in a state of 'sleep' for a reason. A reason only he knows. And that our responsibility as followers are to Always show his Grace, Mercy, and Compassion. That being said... we too once were blind. Everyone is in a different stage in their Faith Journey. So, while the devil is whispering in their ear we should do what is best to keep the peace and not cause strife in someone else's soul. If someone is in a state of confusion and believes they should be a man then we call them what they identify as, as we continue to stand on The Rock & pray the Holy Spirit leads us to show truly how God loves. So, I apologized to my daughter for upsetting her and told her she was right and that there were too many ppl killing themselves for feeling hatred and unrighteous judgement just becuz of something they can't control & the way they feel inside & believe to be their truth and I don't want to be apart of that. I pray this helps, in Yeshua's Holy name! ❤

I've been to For King and Country's concerts like 7 TIMES the past 10 years. THEY HAVE NEVER GIVEN THE GOSPLE / SPOKE ABOUT THE GOSPLE EVER AT THEIR CONCERT. literally me and my parents walked away 'entertained' but saddened that a perfect opportunity was missed to speak about the Gosple of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. 😢 ...Skillet has given the Gosple AT EVERY SINGLE CONCERT THAT IVE EVER GONE TO. And Skillet is hard rock that's even played on SECULAR ROCK STATIONS. 💯

I actually appreciate that they didn't speak about the Gospel. I go to CCM concerts and you are right. It's entertainment, nothing more. I hope people realize that. It's a power/money driven industry. I cringe when some of these bands try to "save souls" during their concerts. Just let me listen to music without profanity and skip the holier than thou speeches. Skillet may be different (never seen them) and if so, that's wonderful.

As a Christian for over 45 years here in Ireland 🇮🇪 it saddens me that in your country there are so many CCM artists who compromise the gospel just to make that extra dollar. Thanks for opening my eyes about For King and Country. Anybody who appears on stage with Smiling Joel has no discernment and no Christian principles. One CCM artist who writes music about his love for Jesus is Darren Mulligan and his band We are Messengers. Thanks for letting Christians outside of the USA, Jordan know the truth behind these mainstream CCM artists. Tauren Wells read out a list of traits from the stage at Lakewood on what a Christian is. He left out the most important one...we are all sinners and are only saved by repenting and trusting in Jesus.

The main difference here is that faith in the Catholic Church is weakening which is allowing some small faith based Christian ✝️ churches to become established. I was a Catholic before I became a born again believer at the age of 21. I now attend a small Baptist Church here in Cork City . We have no mega churches here. Small bible believing fellowships who grow and plant new churches in towns nearby. We have some missionaries in our church from USA and Canada who are here because of church planting.

Simply going to a place to "perform" doesn't mean one is a sellout or a compromiser or approving of the place or of the people there or their teaching. Fernando Ortega performed at the Mormon temple, his music points to and glorifies the Lord, and so do the Newsboys. The Apostle Paul went to Mars Hill to point to and glorify the Lord. However, I am disappointed to hear that CeCe Winans is "friends" with the the Osteens.

I have/had listened to Christian music since 1995 and for the last year or so, I had to stop because of how so many of the artists have sold out. I went back to just listening to classic rock. Those artists from the 60's, 70's and early 80's aren't being hypocrites. That's not to say I have "back-slid" in my faith.

Although those artists are being true to themselves, it's still part of the world that we should separate from, imo. Honestly, more than likely most of them were contracted to play at Lakewood. And, hear me out here, what's the difference, really, between playing at Lakewood, and playing in an auditorium where anyone of any faith or lack thereof can go? Many unsaved have heard the gospel in concerts and got saved! I, personally, have been to Newsboys concerts, and believe me, they turned into a straight up church service for a good chunk of the concert! There was absolutely NO DOUBT who they were singing for and why. I was entertained, yes, but they MADE SURE to point the glory to God! This was with Peter Furler as the lead (which, by the way, the video you showed was with Peter Furler leading, and I'm going to say early 2000's from the song since that song was released in 2003--I had that album in high school and I've been graduated since 2004 lol. He's not been their lead singer since 2009). Honestly, I don't see playing a concert as "selling out". I can see if it was in a satanic temple or pro abortion rally or something equally as sinful/satanic, but this was a church (yes, led by a man whose teachings I don't agree with, but still a church). This is not the definition of selling out. Selling out would be promoting sin and turning from their beliefs. This feels more like a witch hunt than exposing true selling out.

A lot of the compromise that christian music artists encounter starts when they contract with the music companies that promote their work. Once they have a contract, they will be directed where to be on different dates, places, churches, events, etc. Too often when the christian music artist is looking to make a career of spreading the gospel through music, the lure of an income to support themselves and their families leads to compromise for an industry that is truly focused on how much revenue can be raised. It's a big business, and they are in business to make money first. And if the musician/singer don't cooperate, they will soon be out of the limelight. I think this has a lot to do with what is going on these days in the industry. Money first, God is an after thought. And of course the pace at which new material needs to be produced leads to compromise in the message of the songs not being worthy of worship. It's just business, not ministry.

I agree that the industry and career path creates compromise with Christians. But if caution saying the band members are not Christian. There are a lot of us in the corporate world who are forced into positions that could grieve us, but we take our stand when we can. I have respect for Peter Furler, newsboys, who left the group and does his own shows. He seems to be a truly genuine Christian. And Michael Tait is big on repentance and faith in Christ. Just saying that i agree there is compromise here, but they may have little to say in their contracts as to where they perform.

I loved for King and Country and listened to them all the time. But after watching the KLOVE awards last year it was just like watching any other concert award show. It’s not just them and I decided that I’m not going to listen to any of them. For people that love Jesus the only thing the performers need to do is stand or sit on the stage and play and sing. No flashing lights and other visual displays is needed. The audience will be filled with the Holy Spirit and they will have all they need. The display will glorify God.

These groups get contracted for shows. These groups are not really ministries and they are under contract with secular labels. Capitol is a big label that has most of them.
