@panzer948Ай бұрын
@@rogerrussell9544 Right, I do as I owned one for 11 years and believe me, that range extender ability of the Volt really worked as we always considered it an EV first but without range anxiety. Took it on several multi day trips using gas only; while at home only used battery. It eased my way into the EV world when I realized that even with a lousy 40 mile battery range of my Volt, I still relied on the battery for 95% of our driving. I now have a full EV in the Mustang Mach E but I did put a deposit down on a Traveler with Range Extender knowing that most would want this to ease their way into the EV world so figured it would help with resale. But yeah, more EVs should be adding gas range extender tech to their EV lineups as an option. I am not sure why Chevy went away from it as it would have been a great idea for their EV Blazer/Hummer/etc. It seems like EV sales are down recently since most that were not scared to buy one (like myself), already have. Its going to take something like Range Extender options to get the rest of the masses into trying an EV. In a sense, that is exactly why I was okay getting my latest one too!

I really believe this is a good thing depending on the battery that is in the vehicle, and that is why Toyota CEO said EVs are failures and the world will never be just EV. The Toyota CEO was referring to the Lithium battery. I am not sure people remember or are aware of what the Obama administration did (being Obama did.) Obama placed restriction on how EVs and Hybrids were able to be used in the USA. VW came out with a 2 cylinder diesel engine to charge a battery and would travel 207 mile on a gallon of fuel. One gallon. In the USA it would go approximately 198 miles on a gallon of fuel. Obama said if you build a Hybrid as a charging only, then you could only have one gallon of fuel to use no matter if it was gasoline or diesel. Well, we don't want EVs due to numerous things, but range is a big reason before charging for a large amount of time. I am not sure what happened, but right now there are Manufactures building vehicles with a charging engine generator and not to put the vehicle in motion. Good! The good is due to hydrogen fuel or even ammonia fuel will be the future and neither of the two we use now and are zero emission. That pisses off the Swamp in office now, because their money tree will die. It isn't just the Democrats, but mostly are. It is Republicans also and some are not in office now. Obama and Biden are two in the mix and we know Biden was due to the info that has come to light. Just think what we don't know.
