Thank you for doing a review on this, as a Junior athlete it really is exciting to watch U23 and U19 worlds so watching reviews on them is great. Thank you!

Could you have a look at the U23 women single as some of the equipment used in that race was particularly interesting especially from the Swiss sculler.

Do a review on the junior four at this worlds, insane british team with good rythem and a big ability to move the boat in a low stroke rate. I would be amazing!

Thanks for the great rowing content. Could you explain more clearly "swinging when perpendicular?" It seems to be a linchpin of the sculling technique and I would love to better understand when the swing should be happening Thanks again

When the blades are perpendicular to the boat - often referred to as the "work" , its the most efficient time to apply force its the only point in the stroke where the boat is propelled directly backwards.

I think this analysis does not do justice to the most interesting element of this race, which is how hard Isaiah was walked during the middle thousand- maybe as a result of his low rate. He was moved through around the 1500, but failed to respond to the German in any meaningful way. Do you think that his strategy of staying around 28spm is excusable due to his height, or is he doing himself a disservice by not rating higher?

As far as I am informed, he went be maximum achievable boat speed, regardless of a specific stroke rate. Which is smart.

What is the through the pin, oar length and inboards for these guys? just curious - I've always heard 0-2 through the pin for singles, but others say with shorter oars and fatter blades you go further. Thoughts?
