It is clear that the Simpsons did their research about Death Note. Mainly because it references the popular "Light becomes a Shinigami" theory. Plus, in the Death Tome segment, there should be more because Lisa kills a total of 32 Globo-warm directors

I thought that this was a really excellent treehouse of horror the babadook parody was solid, Death Tome was amazing by how it adapted Death Note really well and definitely my favorite of the three, and the westworld parody was a big trip of nostalgia seeing references to past episodes, overall massively enjoyed the episode.

One thing that really surprised me from the death note section (apart from the fact it actually exists, music and animation) was Bart's voice acting! Like him saying something like "you're actually going to kill your brother? D:" almost brought me to tears...

I can't say I disliked any of these segments, but "Death Tome," was definitely my favorite! The Simpsons in the anime-verse was just so perfect! I enjoyed every second of it. Admittedly, I was a tad disappointed they didn't use Moe for the Shinigami, but Steve filled that role beautifully so no complaints here.

My favorite things about the newer Treehouse of Horror is how they experiment with different art styles like Death Tome and the Fat in the Hat and also with different animation styles like Toy Gory and Coralisa. It makes me want to see ALL of Springfield like this! It reminds me of the first time I saw Homer cubed or the Lego Episode and it makes me want to play Hit N Run again.

I’m not sure if this is just me, but I miss how the old treehouse of horrors started by Bart telling stories or the kids nightmares and would show more of them in between segments. But that’s just my opinion I guess.

I miss them too. Apparently it was partly to fill time between shorts, which became less necessary as time goes on. They kept introductions for a while longer but no interstitial parts. Then even dropped that part.
