Today on The Skid Factory, The Kingswood gets a new set of BCI wheels that have been fitted up with some fresh tyres, An EFI Fuel tank from a Holden Commodre thats been modified to suit and all the fuel lines replaced along with a new Go Fast Bits Fuel Pressure Regulator! Theres also a little teaser for one of our future projects!

My dad had a kingswood same colour but with a painted roof. most weekends he’d work on it. He had it from when I was two to ten. I remember trying to help fix it. And dad would try to let me help. Miss u dad. Died in 96.

I had an HJ sedan in the mid 90s the same colour. It was a rusty old heap but that old 202 red motor never stopped. I never knew the engine to have been opened up, but it didn't use a drop of oil (I knew the previous two owners since the late 70s). After seeing Al polishing the hub caps I can openly admit I got great satisfaction when shining mine up with Autosol. It was a matter of pride.

The gas tank hooked to the exhaust of another car to purge the gas fumes is REALLY a good idea and it works. I fixed a small fuel tank for a Honda engine today with that trick. Thanks for that tip cause man I didn't wanna blow up today lol

Cracking job as per usual, Al! Here's one for ya... I have a '67 Ford Corsair that was the cover car in Retro Ford mag, March 2008 issue. It had a YB Cosworth engine & T5 trans with a Capri x-member, rack, Bilsteins, narrowed Brooklands Capri rear end etc (being sold on as I'm now, at 51 too big to fit through the tiny 1960s 4 door frames... (same as Mk1 Cortina)!. Was 380bhp in the end. The lsd, engine & box are now in my '74 Vauxhall Viva HC 2 door sedan (a GM product), but now with 520bhp! Cams, head work, low comp Mahle forged pistons, Borg Warner twin scroll ceramic ball bearing EFR7064 turbo... I know you like a good turbo!! Hart inlet, updated T5 box, Mk5 Cortina narrowed axle housing, Quaife GP4 shafts, Emerald triple map ecu, etc... this should upset the GM/ Ford boys in equal measure! Me... I'm not fussed... Neat trick to avoid straps chaffing your tank, get electric shrink tape (not the pocket sized ones, the big kahuna ones for kw applications) preferably the kind that has adhesive, and then slip it on and do the job. This works for rust proofing sway bars, keeping fuel lines safe, so on. But it does need to be the glue type. IF, no glue type is available, then you need to choke it in lube. All of my cars have this. Caught this trick from an electrician that redid the grounding circuits for my house years ago. Guy came to work in a bitching 1973 Mercedes 220 D estate, painted in gold tones, couldn't pass up the chat the car. Fella took his ground proofing knowledge to the car, and made it rust proof. I mean, if there's someone that should know how to keep rust off a car, then it's the guy who plants electric stuff the ground.

Old Yellow light car alarm, or similar. These used a normally closed boot and or bonnet switch and if these are not closed (faulty switches were common) the alarm will trigger instantly when button is pressed... No exit or entry delay on boot / bonnet switches, in this case after exit delay finishes lamp will flash and horn will pulse. If you find and short out the normally closed boot / bonnet switch wires it should work normally and trigger off of doors with obligatory entry delay.

Ah, that polishey stuff. In the US, we have 'Nevr-Dull' from way back. It became unavailable for a stretch of years (so I hoarded my last tin of it) not cause of any health hazards I know of, but just cause the factory burned down. I was kind of surprised when it reappeared. Couldn't say if it's exactly the same. Can's silver rather than blue, though, now. ;)

Guys, To make the fuel tank work fine filling up you need to add a ventilation hose from the top of the tank to the filler neck jut under the filler cap. And yes it is still not perfect and you end up spilling gas if you fill it to the brim. But you will be able to fill the tank up to the top at least. And if you use a little ball valve half way up in the ventilation line it will block the line and reduce the mess and make it almost perfect. (air passes the valve and when the fuel floats the ball it closes the ventilation line)

Ohhh a Corolla DX! Grew up learning to drive in these. We had two of them back almost 20 years ago to share as a family (started learning to drive when I was 12). Funny thing was, back in the early 2000's, these were worth a mint in NZ due to the boy racers wanting to drop some Mazda into them. We got kill switches installed in the glove-box (dad got these cars for a song and didn't want to fork out any more for cars for us kids to drive) which meant constant smashing of windows and the driving stalk as people were unable to successfully steal them. In the end, both DX's got into crashes and written off, but great cars! The memories and stupid shit my mates and I got up to with these weapons!
