@@itskoasmith it’s sitting in a National Park and has lots of remnants of an ancient kingdom. Did you manage to check some of the caves? Not sure about nowadays but before this virus thing there were plenty of people meditating in there like hermits in India. Check for a great book written about the history of the place. Such a wild place. My sister went there i think in the early 80s. One camp and all accommodation was up on poles as the tigers would come into camp at night. I remember her saying there was a Big tiger shark in the line uo. Me and some mates went years later and turned up to a guy having his scalp stitched back onto his head at our camp. The reef pealed his head like an orange. . Heavy dangerous wave. Wont go back to Gland as we fiund it full of Pros and difficult to get waves with 60 guys fighting for the waves. And line uo cleared out one day with another tiger shark buzzing the line uo. Even spoke with a guy in our camo who survived the tsunami that went through the camp one year.

Walk 10 minutes up the road to what they call the 'keyhole' basically in front of Kongs. Has an easier entry, deeper gutters before it breaks on the reef. The sweep takes you to the line up at Kongs where its an easy drift into the main line up. Front of the lookout platform/ (Money Trees, Launching Pad) is a shit place to paddle out.
