The reason your hellenic religion became so unpopular is because the Admin government type has a Special “Imperial Religion” I.e the religion you are when you ascend to the Throne. This enables a decision where you Adopt the Imperial Faith (Which the AI always does) and thus making all your vassals the wrong religion. You can spend 4K Influence and Piety to change it to your current religion

If you Can read the decisión of forming Rome empire you Can See "the state of imperial religión become as hellenism" so you Don't have to spend gold and influence to change the state faith, the problem is the peasants because they Don't convert to hellenism so basically you have to convert via brutal force, very easy if you have full elite troops whit heavy horses.

Actually way easier to world conquest starting as Sicilian Muslim, form Italia, then Rome, then blob. At the start you keep high clan unity to keep your titles, but after you get Primogeniture you tank clan unity and gain access to infinite invasion CB. Got the full map done 20 years before end date, saved Karling Iceland for last after leaving them there for 200 years.

Keeping it moderate is just way more easy and is way less of a hassle then the hellinist conversion. I feel like the "become the roman empire" goal checklist would make more sense if it was just simply reclaiming the whole of Italy, Greece and Anatolia. Like the Byzantines during their peak of power.

Even on EU4 I always complained that the requirements to call yourself "Roman Empire" and "reforge its culture" are too harsh. I think if a leader that's interested in that "Title" conquer the whole Italy, Balkans and all zones with Greek culture, and it has an army big enough to make those conquest stable and assert itself a great power. All of that should be enough to allow that leader to proclaim itself emperor of a restored Roman Empire. Only after that tag change you should get all claims on all the ancient Roman empire claims.
@lamikiminach9503Ай бұрын
I tried the hellenist option for fun and yeah like basically your whole empire just revolts all at once, you’re better off building up a Hellenist empire from the ground up than just a mass conversion all at once
@stevec.9037Ай бұрын
the byzantines at the peak of their power weren't real rome again. to proclaim that you've actually restored rome firmly enough to keep it that way, i'd say that if anything, it should be at least italy, greece, france, & spain, anything less is too prone to just falling right back apart like the byzantines did. besides, forming rome in these games is meant to be a fairly difficult end-game goal, definitely not something byz can do in 50 years by just jumping into italy, it makes perfect sense to me why they made it as painstaking as it is

honestly it feels like ck2 did the helenic/roman conversion better where it instead of magically making diseases worse and boosting mongols challenge came from your vassals getting angry. granted it was pretty easy to deal with them but at least it made some sense. i do like whole aspect of peasant rebellions becoming worse but i feel that rather than challenge coming from disease and mongols it should have come from your vassals getting massive opinion penalties and being massively more likely to join factions (at least before you converted them), massive religious and separatist rebels spawning in non helenic and roman lands (aka everywhere) and your legimitacy dropping to zero (because of how insane it is). something like that would at least make some sense

This is a special game mode. It also does tend to make your vassals angry as all the counties tend to hate you. So unless your vassals are constantly winning their own little revolts they are getting replaced with a vassal who hates you. Way worse than the CK2 mode where they just hated you once, and then converted.

@@MunchKING kind of seems like you are just desperately coming up with reasons to defend the game mechanic (and hey if you like it, good for you). Laith, brush that majestic hair away from your ears and listen to me well. Click the small circular button in the top right, between the resources pane and the sidebar. This will open the outliner. On the outliner, all of your holdings are displayed in a list format, with the newest ones at the bottom. Clicking one of the names in the list will select that holding and move the camera directly to it. This will make you demesne management a hundred times easier. And just FYI, it does the same thing for all your raised armies, and pinned characters. Hope this helps

I hate that they’ve buffed the mongols and just generally made it such a pain in the ass. The rebels do make some sense, but I think it’d work if it was one big rebellion or rush and when you defeat it you’ve won. I get the want for challenge but the plague and Mongolian stuff feels insanely Gamey
@oldyladАй бұрын
Like maybe if you’re not already Hellenic cause an event rebellion vs like 90% of your vassals or vassals under 90 opinion or something with special event troops. Sort of treat it like a crisis in stellaris except you are the crisis and your vassals decide you’re pushing it too much and they get the special stuff. I dunno, it’s insanely unfun and monotonous as is more so than it is challenging. I beat it, by the way
@oldyladАй бұрын
And I forgot to add that conquering the world doesn’t actually end it at all, you HAVE to cleave the empire which, again, is insanely Gamey and stupid. If they want something like that in the game it’s gotta feel real, like make it when any empire gets to a certain size a split/breakup is almost inevitable but can be prevented through some serious effort and potentially some great cost to things like control or vassal opinion
@oldyladАй бұрын
Actually, legitimacy is in the game for that purpose, so they should use it. If you’re at a certain size and legitimacy reaches 0 (with larger and larger sizes potentially decreasing legitimacy more, but not so much that it’s impossible to keep things together for a WC) a dissolution faction triggers, and if you win you get the option to divide the empire into two to remove the negatives or to continue on with the same issues
