I prefer the shot after Hector toasts his friend who just died and puts the glass back on the table. It’s a really important image as it shows the duality of the themes of the movie. On one hand, you have the beautiful juxtaposition of the empty and overturned shot glass with the full and upright glass to show both the living and the dead; the glass that will never be drank from again. On the other hand, you have foreshadowing of Hector drinking the shot while the other glass stays full which is what had killed him in the first place.

@@NotJeff589 Well, I mean, that fits thematically with the show, but I was thinking more about the Disney classics, the forgotten 2D animated classics like The Thief And The Cobbler, the underrated animes like Perfect Blue or Colorful, the beautifully abstract european masterpieces, the lackluster but sometimes fantastic shots of 3D animation, and of course Studio Ghibli. Animation goes overboard as much as live-action goes bland, but that doesn't mean either of them lack good cinematography in their works.

There's something so special about this video that makes it rewatching every now and then. From the perfected clunks of colors of each shot as they transition like a painting to the next iconic shot. The song is beautiful. The editing is perfection and you can see this from Enter The Void to Birdman. When the camera feels so light in ETV and then we heavily transition to a man as he moves heavy through the same kind of establishment. And then the pulp fiction scene when you drag it on for a second and the car parks at the perfect beat end. And then putting that sprawling beach scene from Tree Of Life to The Master will always give me chills. And then the transition to Blade Runner and Fight Club made a sense of connected nostalgia. Man, easily the best video on film on KZbin. And it's not even over a recording of some film student. But it's letting a perfect song and a handful of shots do the best thing film can ever do. Continue rolling.

Bit of an overstatement when the shot from Barry Lyndon is still the most incredible and it's 50 years old.

The cinematography doesn't ameliorate by CGI or any special effects. It is enhanced by the intellegence of the director and artist. Space odyssey, StarWars, was released in the 60s and 70s. In my perspective, Most 2010s movies are not as iconic as a 20th-century movie.

Beautiful scenes but I guess the best title for this would be "The most beautiful shots in American/english movie history". There are so many incredible and beautiful movie all around the world and unfortunately they are not as recognized as these movies. I think that's very sad. But these scenes are indeed very beautiful.
@KeepCalmDirectioners4 жыл бұрын
@@insulam821 That makes sense, I imagine this can happen. But I guess there are many options to solve this problem! For example, if you download apps in your computer such as Stremio, you can watch basically every movie in the world! It works with torrents, so it's totally free, and I highly recommend it. I live in Brasil and all the brazilian movies I know can be found there, as from almost any other country in Asia, Africa, etc.

@unwz24854 жыл бұрын
The problem here is the movie selection, I think the alternative of this video could be : "The most beautiful shots in movie history but mostly in america, and a few other ones but we don't care cause it's not from the country that haven't invented it..."
@AsatorIV4 жыл бұрын
@@unwz2485 This. Usually, when an American says something is "the best in history", they actually mean the history of the US. And frankly I am a bit sick of that.
@wotmate37194 жыл бұрын
@@AsatorIV Can you tell me any movie scene that they should've included? Most people only watch US american movies, thus the selection. They did good in any way
@AsatorIV4 жыл бұрын
@@wotmate3719 Oh, absolutely. I'm not gonna name individual scenes, just the movies. Just from the top of my head: anything by Andrey Tarkovski (Russia), El laberinto del Fauno (Spain), Amélie (France), La grande bellezza or Youth by Paolo Sorrentino (Italy), In Brugges (UK), Children of Men (UK), Ida (Poland), Melancholia or Antichrist (Denmark), Sympathy for Lady Vengeance (South Korea), a lot of movies by Emir Kusturica (Yugoslavia), Loners and a ton of Czech animated movies, a lot of stuff from Gaspar Noe (Argentina), Amores Perros (Mexico), Lola rennt (Germany) etc. I could go on. If people limit themselves to American movies, it's their loss.
