One thing that this next game needs to have multiple open world levels that act as "zones" from traditional sonic games, make me spin 6 eggman signs for example to draw out eggman, let him chase me around throughout the zone fighting me, and then when I hit the big switch I can go to the next zone. I want to know what "momentum" means in this context. All momentum actually means is that sonic maintains speed in a natural way, such as jumping, or flying off a ramp. This does not necessarily mean that sonic, say, gains and loses speed based on the curvature of the terrain. Fans have a bad habit of putting these different aspects of Sonic's movement under the same blanket term.

I am ready for anything else they throw at us. I really like Frontiers, and I trust them to go into the right direction once again. I just hope they continue further with the story, and continue with the serious tone and even more for the next mainline game. I loved what they gave us, especially coming from Unleashed, Colors, Generations, Lost World and Forces. Frontiers was such a change that made me feel that Sonic could be cool again.

I really hope they do make the world feel more lively. And I don't just mean with NPCs. I also mean more structures with interesting architecture and maybe some more environmental storytelling. I did enjoy the first half of Sonic Frontiers and I actually really did like the atmosphere it set. The first couple of islands are barren and empty with only hints of a civilisation that once lived here. I liked the feeling of it being empty as it literally felt like a ghost town. THAT BEING SAID it did kind of get a little repetitive when we just kept seeing more of the same thing. I was expecting in later islands or the last island to see a full city with some huge lore drops or something. Instead we got bridges, a few towers, a couple of houses and all-in-all just more reused assets. It didn't feel like a once great and advanced ancient society, it kind of more just felt like a village. While I liked the feeling of emptiness in the first half of Sonic Frontiers, it did quickly get underwhelming when we never saw any progression. So I hope we see more interesting structures and environmental storytelling.

I really like the idea of more NPCs and villages because one of the biggest issues with Sonic Frontiers is that every part of the world feels so empty. @@AtomicoMacaco Takashi Iizuka has gone on record by saying that bringing back a lot of specific elements and gameplay mechanics from the Adventure games, including the chao garden and multiple playable characters, is what defined that series of games and it's why chao garden has never been brought back, apart from some minor spin-off games in the GBA Sonic Advance series released a while back. Games like Sonic 06 and Shadow the Hedgehog may have had the same gameplay styles as the Adventure titles, but those games were trying to branch away from that series and try to shape their own identity before they were panned by critics and gamers and never managed to get their own sequels.

Momentum is an issue but I think the main aim for Sonic gameplay should lean specifically towards Pinball physics or as I like to specify it, "Pinball Platforming. Sonic Adventure was probably the closest Sonic Team ever came to successfully translating the Genesis games into 3D. Sense then, they've lost the original Pinball philosophy Sonic was built upon. Sonic's basics need to be pillars of every 3D Sonic Platformer in order for Sonic games to truly stand out from the rest again. Morio & his team need to play Pinball like the OG team so that they can properly recapture Sonic's gameplay roots, (ex. Sonic Utopia's unfinished gameplay showcase).

i guess the main take away is that sega realised that they don't need to Rush sonic team and let them Actually cook. i say that's good news after final horizon DLC basically fixed the rushed Last part of Frontier's final part. (i still wish they just straight up just deleted the OG final boss) and with shadow generations improving on the open zone aspect, we probably breaking the sonic cycle for real. Also I wonder what other IDW character will see game form, tangle and whisper were mentioned in frontiers. (i think)

The IDW characters need to make their canonical appearances in games since American comics are pretty much dead, no thanks to the comic pros pushing political garbage and their own fetishes. If the IDW comics stop then the canon from the comics will be scrapped most likely.
