This makes me think of college back in the year 2000. I had a Hot Pot, which tbey do not even make anymore. It was like the first iteration of a "rice cooker." It was my ramen cooker, which with a can of tuna was how I survived college. haha. Yes I had a meal plan , but I needed way more food for my big ass! lol. I look back on that very fondly. I remember the day it finally quit on me, I was actually very sad. However, a girlfriend next door happened to have a Hot Pot she never used and was in storage. I remember she drove me to her storage unit to get jt and I was so effin happy! lol Its 23 years later and I am still so grateful. We spent a month until my friends dad freaked out at the size and had to check it out. It covered the front yard. His dad was tall and he was able to walk around in it. I think President Richard Nixon said it the best "The American public will not believe anything until they see it on television" or my favorite quote "We'll know our public disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false" ~William Casey CIA director from the first staff meeting in 1981. "i didn't put a bathroom in". You're inside a giant blank canvas of snow Steve, just write your name on the wall and roll back over to sleep.
@303HammerHead4 жыл бұрын
Nice build! Tip: you can pile up the snow you remove from the inside around the edge of the quinzee around waist high. Then you hollow that out and block the original entrance. You end up with an "L" shaped entrance that really limit the wind but still allows ventilation. Tip 2 : a vent hole at the top will help evacuate hot and humid air so the snow doesn't melt that much inside. For long term, especially with fire inside, the snow will lose insulation by turning into ice. For short term it doesn't really matter. I like the video and hope you had fun ! I'm eager to see your next one.

That slays me! People worry you’re not eating enough vegetables in front of the camera? 🤣🤣! Good on you for satisfying that utterly important good group! Kudos, Kudos🤩🇺🇸 When I was a kid we lived on a cul de sac and the neighborhood street plow would put all the built up snow right in the center of our little dead end. There was 2 other young boys and myself that would make these exact same things just for fun. We were absolutely never allowed to sleep in them because it was a neighborhood street people lived on . The danger of cars hitting the side was too prevalent. I loved doing things like that all the time. Then I went actual snow camping around the base of Mt. Bachelor and never looked back. This was a great nostalgic video of my childhood. Thanks Steve!! SEMPER FI from this San Diego guy! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🤩🤩

I really like, that you use the "Imperial & Metric systems" for distance and temperature. I give you a "Thumbs Up" for all of your videos and I've Subscribed to your channel and clicked on the "Bell Notification." Also, thank you, for taking the time and energy to build this Igloo.

Now that IS Impressive man. It's fun to see how you do things your own way. I didn't even know what a Quinzee is/was. Now I know.. it's got to have 1/ table lamp. 2/DVD player. 3/TV. 4/fireworks. So I am learning something. Nice one Steve. Impressive to see what can be done.

I love the idea of a quinzee just waiting for the right snowfall here in California 🏔❄☃️

Same here in Arizona. Maybe we can build ours out of sand and mud? I suppose that would just change the name from quinzee to indian hogan 🤷🏼♂️

I like the snow fort. When my son was in Scouts we built 2 of these, a lot of work even with 4-6 feet of snow. Thanks for a good memory

Thanks for the “camping with Steve” at 1:15, I cracked a step two then. Steve, you’re the only only one that uses the Jackery as a tool and don’t exploit it. We are seeing the real uses of the power station. Your winter shelter was more of a home then a shelter, but that’s you. Still waiting for the Holiday Inn Express comfort level video. This was very close. Happy New Year to you and yours from Minnesota. Skillet

I’m gonna sleep with a shovel in my hand and my head towards the door for safety sake. But before I hunker down I’m gonna light a bunch of explosives on the lake from a few feet away without ear, eye, face or nut protection and a dozen step twos under my belt. Contrary old coyote. Lol. Happy new year bro.
