Steve inspired me to live more minimalistically. You can have just as good of a time, if not better, with less comforts. Living too comfortably just takes the meaning and pride out of everything you do. Being homeless isn't something to cry over. It's freedom and an opportunity to learn. A hobo is a virtuous person that lives on only what they need and isn't burdened by anything

This is amazing! Thank you, Steve. I’d be surprised if I could do this at a State campground here in the USA. The first ranger to drive by and see it would likely enter the tarp fortress without warning and demand to know what I was up to. They’d then order me to take down the tarps. If I asked what rules I was breaking they wouldn’t answer. They’d just angrily reply that I could either take them down immediately or get out. It’s great to see that this kind of harmless fun is still allowed in some places.

Love camping with Steve! Spit out my coffee when he was describing the tick crawling on his leg, but was unconcerned because the tick stood no chance of biting him because " of my luxurious mane of leg hair"! You are correct Sir, people do get unreasonable when you take a camera into a bathroom. The one liners are the show as much as the cooking and camping. Thank you for the humor, kindness and wholesomeness you put out into the world. We ALL need it.

Theres a reason we all love Steve. He's just a great, humble guy, doing something that we love to watch and/or would love to do ourselves! Remember that Steve started his channel living in an old beat up RV. He deserves all the love he gets and makes me proud in a way. Gotta give it to him! Thanks Steve, and congrats for your upcoming 1 Mi!!ion subs!

Stealth camping Canadian style - 6 bloody great tarps, if I can't see them, they can't see me. Great video Steve and the SUV breaking stealth cover under a tarp was precious. Looking forward to next week.

Steve you are a man after my own heart. Nothing ruins beautiful nature quite like having to look at your neighbors. Also it's sad we have gotten to the point in camping that fellow campers might be upset to see someone sleeping in a bag by a campfire. As always a great video thanks for sharing.

As others have said, I too have been abode challenged at times. Been subbed since just before the infamous van rental overnight. Went back and watched the old boondocking video and everything. You've showed me, as well as others, that I could choose to be miserable in my current situation, or just treat it as another adventure. You're dinners have inspired meals for me, and generally brightened most every thursday over the last few years. Keep on being you, and we will keep waving the Hunker Down flag for you brother!

admit it if you heard someone saying crazy neighbor from behind tarps would make you go take a look out of curiosity
@YoungGandalf23252 жыл бұрын
You should have set up an electric fence along with the tarps, maybe set up a few bear traps around the perimeter. You also needed some overhead protection in case a meteor fell on the campsite.

Great layout for the campsite so you had the best of both worlds: privacy and the blessings of nature. Also, I love the cooking setup and meal plan! Very portable, and minimal prep and cleanup. I'll have to look for one of those pie ovens because that looks like a must-have. Thank you for the videos, Steve. You have taught me a lot about how to enjoy the experience by spending a lot less time lugging all sorts of stuff and taking for ever to set it up, and spending much more time enjoying CAMPING. 🙂

Ha ha! You described campground camping in one scentence; "It's like camping in a Wal-Mart parking lot with trees." That is so true. I always called staying in parks as "organized sleep overs". Such a weird concept really. Strangers gathering on paid postage stamp sized pieces of land so they can eat and sleep next to one another. So silly. Love your channel.

I still remember my first CWS video - it was the one where he spends the night in the back of a rented white van during a cold snap. KZbin recommended it to me and I clicked because it sounded kind of intriguing. Got hooked immediately, subscribed, binged all the unwatched content etc. There's all sorts of tricks to get views (or reads or whatever platform someone is on) but the best one is just putting out solid content. That's it. Solid, entertaining content. Steve does that, and it's why the channel is about to hit a million subs.

Wouldn't think anything of it. I was homeless for a bit, and I've always enjoyed channels like yours. Some people might feel like you are "mocking" their situation, but in that same sense... anyone that owns a house is mocking the homeless, which is just stupid logic. You are a chill vibe after I've been at work, and motivate me to plan my next camping trip. I appreciate you and the gang.
