I was wondering where your ratty old sweater was. Glad to see you got a new one. Thanks to the folks who gifted it to you. Now, take the old one, fold it up carefully, and put it away because it has many memories attached to it. I've got an old sweatshirt that was given to me when I was 15 (am now 75). It was instrumental in many memories of my youth, and holding it occasionally, brings all those fond remembrances back freshly to my mind's eye.

And maybe talk about some of the strangest things you've experienced. Do you ever get a little creeped out? Have you ever run across other people in the wilderness that weren't very friendly? I'd love to hear more stuff like this from you. Please keep the videos coming, I really enjoy them.

@Bruan Madsen. If there was cell coverage, the last time I went to Laurel Lake out in Erving State Forest, there was a few freak out moments! I have the luck to ALWAYS find a tree that wants to drop acorns on my tent, so, where it gets MASSIVELY dark @ night up there, this felt like something out of the "Blair Witch" movie! I was up there for about 5 days & part was to catch the meteor shower. ( Parseids) By night going into day 4 around 3 AM this big tree down by the lake decided to fall & the crash it made was something else! It's black bear country up here too so, got to watch out for those!

I have to thank you for allowing me to see how important it is to clean up. I will not rest on anything I’ve done in the past as I picked up a few, and I mean a very few pieces of trash as I was out and about and put them in my pocket if it wasn’t too nasty and dumped it in a receptacle. But now I carry a large kitchen bag or even a leaf bag, depending on where I’m going and get pissed if I don’t fill it up at least half way. I still fall short most of the time, but I’m grateful that you my friend drove the point home that we all need to do it, and have a “ step two” along the way!!!!

Dude you make great videos! You don't do this by throwing out your A-side every time. You are not showing us how to "Camp" in a $200,000 "Van", or sleeping somewhere on a warm sandy beach. You are taking us on crazy adventures we could emulate, and when things don't go as planned you turn the camera's on and tell us all about it! You are Awesome! "Now you're camping with Steve!" is a sign that you can make it by gritting your teeth and rolling with what you have. Love it!

This reminds me of the time Steve decided to sleep in a camping ground... in winter... in thick snow... in a just a mat and sleeping bag with the fire that went out part way through the night... Like a true Canadian he didn't die of hypothermia during the night surprisingly. Sometimes I think he may not be human. ^_^ He's healthier than I am at around roughly the same age.

It’s so funny you don’t think twice about cracking open a can any other time but, when you’re in stealth mode you feel like it’s as loud as a sonic boom. 🤣. That is some serious dedication. Staying out there in this downpour. Especially when it’s colder out. Hopefully you stayed well & didn’t come down with a cold Or anything. If you bowed out us fans would understand..this is real life right. 😉. Steve could you do a video of before & after a trip. Like show us how to get ready & decide what to pack. Then once your home how you unpack your stuff etc. obviously after a trip like this you have to make sure all your stuff gets dried out. Thanks!

And this, boys and girls, is why it is important to have survival skills in your toolbox. It cannot be overstated how useful a couple of garbage bags thrown in your pack can be. Steve's use of one as a makeshift poncho (1) kept his core dry (2) provided a wind barrier against convection and (3) may very well have prevented the life threatening risk of hypothermia. Great job as always Steve! I'm a recent sub and have been binge-watching your videos lately! Keep up the good work and hunker down!
