I was wondering where your ratty old sweater was. Glad to see you got a new one. Thanks to the folks who gifted it to you. Now, take the old one, fold it up carefully, and put it away because it has many memories attached to it. I've got an old sweatshirt that was given to me when I was 15 (am now 75). Couldn’t wish you anything but the best of happiness, mister friend of the forest. I’m very thankful you exist. Looks like a rocker of a night! I’m from Alaska the rainforest part, and I used to be homeless. Your videos remind me to be grateful for the roof I have over my head and also remind me of the beautiful earth shaking times I had to myself in the woods :) I might have to go hammock out this thunderstorm tonight in central NY just for the hell of it. Cheers, friend 🍻

This reminds me of the time Steve decided to sleep in a camping ground... in winter... in thick snow... in a just a mat and sleeping bag with the fire that went out part way through the night... Like a true Canadian he didn't die of hypothermia during the night surprisingly. Sometimes I think he may not be human. ^_^ He's healthier than I am at around roughly the same age.

Man i forgot how much i enjoy watching your content. This episodr reminds me of a camping trip one would have with a father. And everything would go wrong but the father keeps the spirit high and tries to make the best of the situation. I imagine looking it like this.

It’s so funny you don’t think twice about cracking open a can any other time but, when you’re in stealth mode you feel like it’s as loud as a sonic boom. 🤣. That is some serious dedication. Staying out there in this downpour. Especially when it’s colder out. Hopefully you stayed well & didn’t come down with a cold Or anything. If you bowed out us fans would understand..this is real life right. 😉. Steve could you do a video of before & after a trip. Like show us how to get ready & decide what to pack. Then once your home how you unpack your stuff etc. obviously after a trip like this you have to make sure all your stuff gets dried out. Thanks!

And this, boys and girls, is why it is important to have survival skills in your toolbox. It cannot be overstated how useful a couple of garbage bags thrown in your pack can be. Steve's use of one as a makeshift poncho (1) kept his core dry (2) provided a wind barrier against convection and (3) may very well have prevented the life threatening risk of hypothermia. Great job as always Steve! I'm a recent sub and have been binge-watching your videos lately! Keep up the good work and hunker down!

As an ex-ne'er-do-well-high-school-student, that spot has _definitely_ been used for various activities by students ("garbage, which there was plenty") from that high school lol honestly, the rain is probably a net positive!
