This is really a nice interface for guitar and bass player. Having a amp out is a huge advantage compared to other audio interface.

Oh !! Thanks !! I don’t know why IK media didn’t tell me that when I asked the same question , this should work great , that’s so cool , now I don’t have to send it back and spring for the capture box 👍🏼🎸

Presume you need a load box in additon to the AXE I/O to profile a head?
@TSFAHTPS

If you want to profile the head only then yes…otherwise you can capture the head and your speaker cabinet with a mic!

I get the I/O One and I am thinking to get the I/O solo : the sound is so different between them or the upgrade is not needed ? I mean the feel to play... I saw that you test both...

To me they seem pretty much identical…except for the second input on the Solo and USB-C connection on the One! I guess it just depends if you want a second input

I’ve been using the iRig I/O Pro for direct guitar in and for a condenser microphone. In your opinion can I use this for the same? Will it sound close as far as quality for vocals? Also, I don’t have any amps to model or any other interfaces to plug this into, so am I ok with this, the computer, and the AT 5 Max software? I assume without other equipment the Tonex features may not apply to me? What are your thoughts? I really appreciate it.
@TSFAHTPS
@TSFAHTPS Жыл бұрын
I think they are fairly similar…but you will probably get slightly better audio quality from the AXE IO! I’ve never used any of the iRig stuff though, I’m just going by what i have heard other people say! As for ToneX…even if you don’t use the capturing feature there are still a LOT of captured amps you can play and record with…that together with AmpliTube 5 will give you almost limitless options!
@hybrydsanity5857
@hybrydsanity5857 10 ай бұрын
cool , so if you go out of direct out from your amp to capture model and amp , do you still have to plug an output to a load (guitar cab) to protect your tubes ?, and how does the higher gain settings sound like if your not using a mic and your just going direct out into the Axe I/O one .and then you can load them onto a Tonex Pedal from the The Tonex App ?
@TSFAHTPS
@TSFAHTPS 10 ай бұрын
Yes, you will still need a load box or a speaker when you capture your amp from the speaker out! And yes you capture the amp and then load it from the software onto the pedal…there you can also add speaker simulation! I have a bunch of videos on my channel where I captured direct sounds from the speaker output - hope that helped
@paulcanz
@paulcanz 10 ай бұрын
Thank you , the one thing still puzzling me some , is if the direct amp output or microphone is going into this particular axe I/O one , what do i plug the guitar into lol Seems like a dumb Question but I’m not sure . I do have the Tonex pedal already, waiting on the Axe I/O One to be delivered
@TSFAHTPS
@TSFAHTPS 10 ай бұрын
@@paulcanz I talk about that at 8:20 - to capture an amp you don’t really need to plug a guitar in…the software makes all the sounds you need to capture the amp! Once the amp is captured you can either plug the guitar into the input at the front of the AXE IO if you want to play your captured amp in the software OR you connect the ToneX Pedal and then drag your captured amp onto the pedal and then play it there! I hope that makes sense!

when you capture and amp and you switch PCs from like a Desktop to Laptop should you be able to see those captures on your account on another PC ? or do you have to do something else , because i didn't see them on the captures when I opened my account on the other machine , I thought it would be account based.

Ok many questions. (1) lets get the super daft blond question out the way first. As a 1 in 3 out I assume that this means that you can not plug a Guitar and a mic in at the same time right? You plug in your guitar record that then plug in the mic and record that after right? (2) I currently have an Irig HD2 with Amplitube SE, would I be correct in thinking for playing and recording with Amplitube that the key difference would be the different inputs and also the tonal changes you can make on the interface around impedance that you cant do on an Irig? (3) Did i understand you correctly that this has some kind of preamp built in? if yes how would you use that? As always Gabor great review thanks. Would love to see a bit more in future videos how you would set up the foot switches, in conjunction with Amplitube and then line back out to an amp to be able to use in a live environment rather then a recording set up.
@TSFAHTPS
@TSFAHTPS Жыл бұрын
Thanks Rob!! Ok…Question 1…yes it means one input, like you said plug in guitar, then plug in the mic…can’t do both at once! ‘3 out’ means you have 3 outputs - output one and two would be for whatever speakers/monitors you are using when you record and the third output is the ‘To Amp’ output’ Question 2…yeah that’s pretty much it! I’d say the Axe IO would probably give you a slightly better quality recording…plus you have those tonal options! Question 3…as in a Mic Preamp…your iRig HD has a Mic Pre in it too…it’s so you can get enough volume for the mic…this has the optional ‘Pure’ and ‘JFET’ switch too… I hope that all makes sense?!?

... does the Tonex Capture box (hardware) offer anything over this "one" ?
@TSFAHTPS
@TSFAHTPS Жыл бұрын
The Capture box allows you to do a few more things like capture your amp head without a cabinet…also the Capture box is not an interface so it works together with an interface…so if you already have an audio interface you like then the Capture comes in handy to help you reamp and capture amps! The Axe IO one is a small, affordable audio interface that can do a lot of what the Capture can do…I’d say it’s more for people who don’t have an audio interface and/or who want to get in to Amplitude and ToneX with the bundled software! I hope that makes sense?!?

I intend to try my axe io to do a capture of a tube head via the amps line level out going into the axe io input. Amp connected to speaker or load box. That's pretty much (in theory) the same thing thats happening with the amp going into the tonex unit as far as i can tell. I'll end up getting the tonex box and comparing. Anyway, something to consider.

Imagine if you just bought Amplitube 5 SE then see this lol Really you are usually better off buying Hardware from IK if you want software. Not saying people are getting ripped off with their software, just saying it would be frustrating.

It would be useless in most cases. Its clipping like crazy, you’re not even picking hard.

That guitar has crazy high output pickups…and you can turn the input gain down more! To me it sounded fine…it was clipping a little but as far as I’m concerned it still sounded good and that’s all that really matters
