It looks very good. I’ve always used knitting in elastic on cast on and zig zag rows and never had an issue. Will try your method

Thank you so much I was beginning to despair of finding a decent ribber cast on edge having just started to use a ribber, I really do not like the circular cast on.

There is another alternative for the circular cast on, I need to do a video on that.

This is beautiful! Do you know how to go from 1x1 rib into a double bed, birds eye backing jaquard hat?
@Thesweaterfactory8 ай бұрын
If you were using the same yarn for the 1x1 rib as for your jacquard pattern, you would have to knit your 1x1 rib with a few ends of your jacquard yarn, so it would be an adequate thickness, as 1x1 rib is not a double thickness fabric/stitch. After knitting the 1x1 rib, make sure you finish with the carriage on the correct side, for the proper colour changing, with the colour changer, as your next row will be your jacquard set up row, consult your manual. For starting the jacquard from 1x1 rib, you would pick up the heels of the stitches from the row bellow and put them on all the empty, in between needles, on the opposite beds, to fill in the gaps, so all needles on both beds are in work. Make sure to set your ribber to half pitch, after the transferring, then knit a row to select your needles, for your jacquard pattern, this also sets your first row of full needle rib. Of course, make sure you’re using just one or two ends now, of your jacquard yarn, as you are in full needle rib now and it will be very stiff to knit across if you forget and using maybe 3-4 ends you used for the 1x1 rib! Lol. Now make sure your settings are all correct on your carriage and continue in jacquard.

If doing a 2x2 rib do we cast on in 2x2 or do we still need to change needle arrangement and/or pitch?
@Thesweaterfactory8 ай бұрын
@@sharonclarke221 No, you can do it just the same way as in the video for 1x1 rib. You may find the single prong transfer tool helpful in guiding the yarn around the needles, though.
@knit19242 жыл бұрын
Beautiful Alex!!! Do you have a cast off for a neck band rib? I have rehung the stitches on a neckline, I ribbed for 10 rows on my single bed bulky machine. How can I can keep the stretch and do a bind off. The yarn is thick so I don't want to tack down to the back of the garment. Hope you can help me. Thank you
@Thesweaterfactory8 ай бұрын
You would do either a chain cast off in rib, which I have a video on or you could do a back stitch cast off, which will have the most stretch, you have to be careful with that one though, depending on the fibre, it can lose its shape after a few washes.

Did you sell it? If not, there are plenty of groups on Facebook for selling things knitting machine related, where there are people who repair and service them too, which may be able to help you. Other than that, there is eBay and Market place on Facebook.

Hi. I’ve just noticed that the carriage on your machine has N (normal), H (hold) and I?. What is this for. I haven’t seen it before on a Brother machine. Thx.
@Thesweaterfactory Жыл бұрын
Some Brother standard gauge electronic machines have built in intarsia, so no need for an additional intarsia carriage. You set the holding cam lever to “I” and push in both part buttons. Hope this helps.

I didn’t know that! Thx Alex. (PS Please consider a broken toe cast on vid)😊
