Such simple style rules really, and some offices have some of the same. Absolutely no reason for Meghan to rebel against them so early in her royal foray. All she's proven in that rebellious streak is her utter silliness. Look at some of her garment choices e.g. that ill-fitting green dress with the cape and green bowl hat she wore March 2020 for Commonwealth Day, just ridiculous on her, that creepy non-stop smile and her face looked swollen, horrors! And that was Meghan's choice, nobody made her wear that.

The beauty protocol is followed for many reasons... and so those of us who don’t deal with meeting and greeting thousands of people, nor do we have endless photographers catching & snapping our every move, nor do we have to be on our feet for hours upon hours graciously making polite talk... I’d leave the rules to the Royals. Much of the protocols are just good manners and good grooming. Women wearing stockings and girls wearing tights or socks have the purpose of protecting their feet and ankles from forming blisters as well as providing extra foot & leg comfort. They provide a finished look which is the prescribed uniform appearance. Why should they reduce themselves to low or no standards? I don’t care for MM breaking protocol as it shows a rebellious and disrespectful spirit, and believe MM should put others before herself. I don’t find any problem with the Royal protocols. They are delightful and admirable. One doesn’t have to be rich to have good grooming, good manners, and to behave graciously, and not think more highly of oneself than he/she ought to.

As an American woman I still agree with the Royal etiquette. There’s a good reason that it should be today conservative and in place. Etiquette is all about respect for other people. When we become last about our appearances and mannerism, that is when we are showing a lack of respect or society around us.
