Actually, 5'8'' seems to be the average international height for men (mode and median) according to what I've seen on country height listings. True story here !! One summer my friends and I rented an apartment down the Jersey shore. (From Philly). I had just turned 21 and hitting the clubs. There were times when I didn't have the money to hit the clubs. The older heads that were crashing in our place would pay for me to go with them "because you get surrounded by chicks". Well I'm 5"5'. I'm now 56, traveled the country for work and had a marvelous time. There were times I wished I was taller, but I worked with what was given me and had a ball. Peace.

I wish to advise that the conversion of inches to centimeters in this article is incorrect. When you say that 5' 7" is 170 meters this is wrong. A meter is 39 inches which would then make someone like Tom Cruise who supposedly is 5' 7" (and you claim to be 170 meters according to your conversion) 6630 inches tall. Someone doesn't know the metric system!!
