I picked up a white 2016 RT Plus with the 18 speaker harmon kardon stereo and 8.4 screen. It sat on the same lot for two years and only had 126 miles. Dealer had 8000 off. Sure there are faster performance cars than the RT but nothing else on the road looks badass like a challenger does. I'll not be racing mine anyway. What I like best about it is not any particular feature. Its the fact that it feels like cars used to feel like. Its big, heavy, the steering wheel is beefy, you have to put some effort into closing the heavy doors. I like all that shit. The seats are VERY comfortable. The interior parts feel solid not cheap. One reviewer I watched said the challenger is a cruiser and I feel thats a good way to sum up this great car.

@1redrubberball4 жыл бұрын
@@nickv5 There are many attributes that make up the desirability of a car. Performance, handling, style, comfort, are some of the considerations. Whether my ride is as fast or faster than yours, is really immaterial, on the street. There is fast and faster, and there is fast enough. IMO, 500 HP and higher is just insanity. In my youth I built and hotrodded Mustang/Cougars & 351-C engines. I poured lots of money in the bottomless pit. I'm long beyond caring if my ride is faster. I'm enjoying my 2013 Challenger R/T 5.7/6 speed/3.73 limited slip, low insurance premiums, decades without tickets. It's fun to drive, and can get you in as much trouble as you care to get in, or more. And it's in a handful of the best looking cars ever created.

Great review! I'm currently looking at either ordering a new 2021 R/T or finding a used 15'+. I'm finding pricing of the used ones pretty astronomical up here in Canada, even the pre 15' cars are holding price pretty high if they are not miled out. A local 18' F8 loaded manual is $37999 (Canadian$) with only 14000 km but that's pretty close to the discounted new ones. There's some pretty hefty discounts on the new 2020 ($5500) hard to find though. Absolutely nothing seems changed for 2021, at least according to my sales guy. That motor sounds addictive my gas mileage wouldn't be all that great lol. I think the R/T package has plenty of power for the street but could you imagine if they shaved 300-400 lbs off it, likely be a good stop light fight with the SS camaros and GT mustangs.

Hi Rob, watched your SXT video and was a little surprised that you vote the R/T hands down over the SXT. You seemed to really like the SXT. I'm looking at new 2018's of both models right now, (yes, there's still a few on the lots), and there's a $7,000 difference between motors. Both cars have the same screens, sound systems and leather. 7 grand is a lot for 70 HP....lol....Not sure it's worth it....Oh, you didn't have a camera in that one because it had the "fake" spoiler that's flat. The regular spoiler which is higher has the camera in it, maybe you had to get an upgrade screen package to get the regular spoiler, not sure. It was a 2017 R/T.....2018 they started putting the regular spoilers on all models of the Challenger. Anyway, excellent job on the video, just subscribed.
@TheTestDrive5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Eddie - I appreciate the support! The SXT is a great all-around car. I agree $7k is a lot for 70HP, but it’s around a second faster to 60 (i think) and the V8 sound is really what does it for me. I love to mash the throttle and in the R/T it’s addicting because of the sound. But I don’t think you can go wrong with either option!
@TheTestDrive5 жыл бұрын
And that makes sense regarding the camera. I just drove the 2019 R/T and it’s exactly as you said with the spoiler with the backup camera in it.

The dealers have been known to add some of the options per customers wishes and or what is popular at the Time, So that they can move more vehicles (more Sales). But mine came with leather & a bunch of other little things because I got a 2017 Challenger RT Plus. And that is Exactly what is indicated on the window Sticker. Assembled in Canada Brampton Plant. Can someone help me? Does the 2018 Challenger R/T have Active Exhaust?? Not the R/T plus, just the base R/T?
@rmartin52855 жыл бұрын
Yes....all 5.7 V8’s 2017 or newer have active exhaust regardless of the trim level.

The RT is a pig...yes it sounds good but Mustang drivers only get to hear it in parking lots😆... we're so far in front during races we can't hear the exhaust.

What kind of exhaust system you got or is that just a delete ?
