All great points, particularly at the beginning with pointing out how flooded the QA market is now. Maybe I could have taken some of your tips at the end but ultimately I decided to go down the less saturated route of Linux Admin with a long term goal of DevOps.

@@JDMorris81 thanks for the feedback, how do you like the Linux admin route so far?

@thetestlead It's been awesome and very interesting so far. I've been a regular Linux user for a couple years now so it was a natural choice for me. The automation skills I was learning with Python are also highly applicable to scripting in Sysadmin work.

This is great info. At some point, can you go over how new skill sets can be displayed on our resumes? If you're newly pivoting with no exact work experience.
@thetestleadАй бұрын
@@kamys6133 yeah definitely. Are you talking about new skillets, software testing in general, or adding new skills to your current software testing skills?
@kamys6133Ай бұрын
@thetestlead hey yes for software testing. For instance, I'm making sure to highlight my soft skills. But when it comes to showing work experience for what's technically required, I dont have that. So, I feel like it's hard for the resume to be pulled when specific requirements aren't there. Its like there's no chance in this market lol!

@ ok got you and I know how discouraging it can get. I’ll try to make a new video about getting new skillets and how to display on your resume that way the key words have a chance of getting picked up by recruiters.

Great video. What is a realistic salary for manual QA in your opinion? I feel like these bootcamps are over-promising.

Salespeople will always oversell and say what you could make, but what you actually can make will depend on your location, the current job market , and if you do manual or automation software testing QA

Hey Juss, Dre here. I messaged you on IG. Would love to connect. I was a QA/ SDET at Charles Schwab by way of FDM for about 2 years. The job hunter after I left Schwab was pretty crazy and I had to pivot to a different type role. Would love to connect and go into more details see what advice or guidance you have. Look forward to hearing back!
