I remember going to that place about 23 yrs ago i was in elementary on a field trip they fired a cannon for us to,also said one if those doors was bad luck to walk thru

You will have to come back in March and experience the re-enactment of the battle of Fort Defiance. The re-enactors camp according to 1836 customs and provisions. Then they battle with the Mexican Army, cannons and all. It’s well worth the trip.

I love that place. You can even stay a few nights on grounds in rooms called the quarters.
