Ashoka living passed Rebels is the dumbest thing to happen in the run since her absence in the OT makes zero sense. Bad Batch sucks and ruined the Commandos and he ruined Grievous after he was easily one of the best villains in all of Star Wars. His contributions too more away.
@fritzy305712 күн бұрын
@@lex_rodriguez Filoni didn't make Bad Batch or Clone Wars. In fact, it was George who created the 3D animated version of Clone Wars and had Disney not canceled the Clone Wars, you would've seen Grievous become like his 2D counterpart. Back then the 2D Clone Wars was also canon and a prelude to Episode 3. And there's nothing wrong with Ahsoka living past Rebels. Don't get me wrong, I have my own issues with some of the decisions Filoni has made but you need to get your facts right before spreading negative pointless hate. I completely agree about recasting actors who unfortunately passed away. Black Panther 2 felt REALLY strange that T’Challa just died off screen, when he was set up to essentially be the new face of the MCU along with Spidey & Captain Marvel. I get it’s about respect, but like, I feel it greatly hurts the story of the franchise. It’s also odd that they were cool with recasting General Ross, but that could just be because he wasn’t as big of a a character as T’Challa. But I do think recasting should be allowed.

GRIEVENCES I HAVE WTH FILONI: * This is why Time Travel is so stupid and should be never been in rebels. If anything it's more like Narnia where time moves at a different rate but is not some time portal that can affect the other reality. *Lightsaber fights are based off of KENDO with BAMBOO STICKS so no they aren't heavy and should be Lethal *My first EU book after the Revenge of the sith novel was the Legacy of the Jedi series. I was a little confused but was still having fun reading them. I was excited for the new releases befire Disney took over. Another series that I read growing up was The Last of The Jedi, a story that is very similar to Cal Kestice and Starkiller. Awesome books. Filoni should've followed these instead of the idiotic Kenobi series and the very uneventful Ahsoka series. *I've been saying this forever, a major lesson from Star Wars is Learning to Let Go. If we look at the OT, Obiwan teaches Luke to follow his instincts and overcome his weaknesses. Yoda teaches Luke that death is a part of the cycle of life, and that we should let go of our fears to avoid falling into darkness. Vader shows Luke that people can change once they let go of thier power and selfishness. In the PT, Quigon explains to Obiwan to be patient and mindful of the situation at hand instead of preemptively acting. In AOTC We see Anakin's struggle to follow in the footsteps of Quigon and keeps his inner hatred hidden from Obiwan. His Obsession with power makes him confess to Padme that he is being held back and is treated like a child. Refusing to let go of his mothers destiny led him to massacering an entire Village. Refusing to let go of his lust leads to a secret marriage that he tries to hide. Lastly, Anakins downfall to the dark side is a result of refusing to let go of his fear of loosing Padme. To sum it up, George Lucas created Star Wars as a coming-of-age story, one of those messages being allowing yourslef to let go of any grudges, fears, anger, hate, and obsessions because they destroy you from inside. Retconing character deaths and trying to expand lore of the souless sequels is litterally painting yourself into a corner. "Your either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become a villain"

I'm a bit mixed on recasting, I understand why some showrunners/directors don't want to recast after someone passing away. The two best examples (SPOILERS) are Andre Anderson from Gen V (RIP Chance Perdomo), a character that i was excited to see how his story progressed, but at the same time, tragically, he had those brain tears due to him using his Magnetism Manipulation too much just like his father, so narratively, his confirmed death that will play big aspect in the second season makes a lot of sense. T'Challa is always a big mixed bag among people, I'm sure they're gonna recast him after Avengers - Secret Wars, but Wakanda Forever was a fantastic film about grief and loss and the pain that comes from it especially from the director, the cast and the crew who were all close to Chadwick Boseman (RIP) and it made sense narratively because Killmonger burned the Heart Shaped Herbs therefore T'Challa was at risk and probably was gonna suffer some effects and was a great way to continue to showcase how Killmonger really affected Wakanda in multiple ways than just morally. Overall, I understand why filmmakers do it and I understand why some are upset about it. But certain circumstances, we just don't understand and we have to respect that.
@dillydraws21 күн бұрын
For me it's the inconsistence. Like they refuse to recast T'Challa to honour Chadwick but when William Hurt passed away, the chose to recast him for Captian america 4, making it seem like William death didn't matter. They should've recasted T'Challa and pay Respect to Chadwick in the film, you can do both. Like Harry potter, Dumbledore actor passed away before like the third film and they recast because the character was so important, the actor honoured the previous actor while keeping the memory of the character alive. Same with Iroh in avatar
@comedygod52217 күн бұрын
@dillydraws I think there is a huge difference in all these situations. Chadwick Boseman's death was sudden and unexpected, especially with the fact that he hid his cancer from everyone, including Kevin Feige and even Ryan Coogler. T'Challa was going to be one of the big three alongside Spider-Man and Captain Marvel in the future of the MCU, but the cast and the director made a beautiful film about grief along with the fact that Shuri took the role of Black Panther in the comics after T'Challa's supposed death so tragically, everything fell into place to make a sequel with T'Challa being recast especially so soon, as the world was grieving his loss. General Thunderbolt Ross was not as important as a character or a cultural icon as T'Challa was in the grand scheme. He can show up in things but he isnt a major character. Him being a recast isn't as big since he wasn't a big part of the MCU. Iroh's recast was necessary to continue the story, and so was Dumbledore. So non-comparable
@dillydraws17 күн бұрын
@@comedygod522 The fact T'Challa is such an icon is the reason why he should've been recast, his story deserved to be continued because the character is so important, a role that Shuri can't fill, or any of the Wakanda forever cast. It's like if Peter parker died off screen and MJ became the new spiderwoman. The MCU needs T'Challa and the fact is, T'challa is not Chadwick. You can honour and pay respect to the amazing actor while also keeping the character around because he's that important. And if Thunderbolt Ross was not as important then he shouldn't have been in Brave new world

Filoni is really good but he plays the long game with stories and if people don’t like the beginning of his stories it makes it harder to do that. Personal theory: KK thought Mando was too much of a dad show and that ran counter to “the Force is female” schtick she had going on. So Dave and John said ok we’ll get rid of Grogu which probably made KK pitch a fit and forced them to bring Grogu back in BOBF because he’s such a money maker. They used Grogu as a bargaining chip to tell their stories.

Hot take: Gideon's escape and undoing of his arrest may have been the idea from the start before the TBOBF and S3 tampering. Gideon from S1 onward didn't appear to be the kind of man who would let a New Republic prison hold him that easy. He must have had contingencies for his character to have an escape plan. And I wouldn't put it past the character in wanting to clone himself either since in the season before he just built himself an army of Dark Troopers. Plus, there were some hints in the first two seasons of Gideon running a secret black project involving the force between Grogu being operated on by Pershing in S1 and the cloning tanks in S2. Which we ended up getting answers to, to a degree. The writing was most certainly on the wall for it. It just wasn't well executed nor fleshed out well given Giancarlo's schedule with other shows among other unfortunate circumstances Lucasfilm put S3 in. I have spoken.

24:29 I would argue that Boba Fett having to justify his existence is not fair when Din has all the qualities that made Fett a cool character. And because Din is essentially Boba Fett 2, its quite difficult to reestablish the character when all his qualities belong to someone else. The only reason Fett works in season 2 is because Din suddenly becomes inept and Boba retakes his character back for a minute while Din just watches everything happen. I just want to add that I think that the biggest mistake of Filoni, Rodriguez and Favreau is not including Boba Fett in season 3, and giving us a perspective from Fett's pov about his knowledge of Mandalorian culture. Assuming its still canon, Jango was teaching Boba about Mandalorian traditions. Im surprised they have never pursued the storyline of Fett reconnecting to the Mandalorians WHEN HE SPENDS A MAJORITY OF BOBF WANTING A FAMILY AFTER THE TUSKENS. Seriously, why wouldn't you further develop the character away from Crime Boss and into the honorable warrior that Boba IS.

I was unimpressed by the Ahsoka show as someone who tangentially knew who the characters were but had never watched Rebels or the Clone Wars. I wasn't as concerned with the show's lack of character catchup (as I was somewhat aware), but my issues were the character interaction between Ahsoka and Sabine as well as the portrayal of Thrawn. They really needed to sell the relationship with Ahsoka and Sabine, but I never really understood why they had such a fractured relationship, and I also knew that Rebels really didn't show many answers either. Because so much of the show surrounded their relationship, I felt the show was unable to properly sell me on its importance. With Thrawn, I knew him from the original books, and I felt that the show had this air of intelligence without being very intelligent. Thrawn constantly underestimates his opponents and refuses to use a few more resources to eliminate dangerous enemies. Instead of sending a few TIE fighters to down the ship, he could have sent several fighters. As it was, the few he sent almost did the job. My final complaint is that the show is not very economical with its plot pacing. Although I understand this was a show about setting up things, I feel that had they cut out certain portions of episodes, they could have spent more time on other, more interesting details.

I really appreciate how you still found good in the more controversial seasons, and all your critiques are fair. Most notably, seeing where studio interference was clear, rather than assuming that the showrunners were a bunch of idiots. Because that really does seem to be the case - and I hope one day we get to hear the honest story of what the original visions was, versus what we actually got. Mando S1 & S2 are some of my favorite Star Wars. Ever. Boba Fett is my favorite character, and I was never more excited as a fan than I was at the end of that season. the big this for me anyways has always been seeing more of Luke after Mando Season 2. I think me and literally everyone who loved Star Wars prior to the mouse have wanted to see what happens to Luke after Return of the Jedi through some form of TV show or movie and the only times we've gotten it were, while I would consider a good story, something that I dont think can really be appreciated when it's in place of what we really want, which is more of the Luke we grew up with. My hype for Star Wars died with Boba Fett. I actually quite enjoyed a lot of the Boba stuff if I'm honest, though I was never a huge Boba fan, I guess to me as a clone wars fan I was moreso interested in the fact that he's an unmodified clone, so should be somewhat similar to the clones we grew up with which I think explained his far more honorable tendancies. Issue was that Luke sending Grogu back.... My hope for the great Star Wars bounce back after the sequels messs was shattered. It just became super clear they have no idea what they are doing or what story they are trying to tell. Luke being concerned with attachment makes no sense, especially when you consider he was willing to train Leia who was married and expecting a child. Not to mention Luke's view of attachements I think was the potential to fill in the massive massive continuity holes between the originals and sequels to make a bit more sense, if you consider the idea that Ben Solo likely had some pretty serious issues from a young age considering how Han thought Luke could "help him", he's the last person a Jedi concerned with attachment would train, Luke saw the good in him and if you consider who he turns into his guilt in Last Jedi makes far more sense as to him, as the very character traits that one would argue would never cause Luke to give up were the very ones that created Kylo Ren. ...And as far as the attacking in his sleep, I think anyone who has the ability to look in the mind of another person and sees they have plans to shoot up the school tomorrow, and who knows what else along with potentially some bad things he may have already done. thanks Rian for spending half the movie making us hate Finn rather than fleshing out these important details.

If her arc was confirmed to be romantic, her actions would make more sense. Honestly, when the show was trying and failing to deny that, it was what ruined it for him. It wasn't so much wheather they get together or not, but rather what would happen next. At this point, it's really now the only thing left to salvage her character at this point.

My two cents...or credits, if we want to stay on topic: The Mandalorian could have been good, and the first two seasons are good, in fact. But not only did it start to derail when it appeared in another show (BoBF), which was supposed to stand on its own two feet, but it also arrived at a time when the Disney trilogy was ending... and that one sucked more light out of star wars than any black hole. As far as I'm concerned, products directed or with Filoni involved have ups and downs, including CW. I would say that we cannot speak of either redemption or catastrophe.

Actually the Original Star Wars wanted Boba Fett alive, most of the Fandom didn't care either way, he die because his hubris, killed by a blind mind, and the story should end there, but Disney couldn't let the Original Star Wars fans cry because one of their precious legacy character die, no, so Boba Fett come back for no reason, they did the same when Disney did the opposite and killed Luke Skywalker, is almost like the Original Star Wars fans don't care about the world building or even the character arcs, but the vibes that those characters give them.

Starting to feel like the Filoni era is a forlorn hope Started great in animation Kicked off even better in live action when Mando bisected some dude with an automatic door... But lately, and after Mando S3 ...it seems like that was a flash in the pan

12:21 The Imperials probably see Luke as a Dark Souls boss lol I like to imagen when the radar detects only one X-Wing that Moff Gideon suddenly just hears Dark Souls 3 music start playing while a healthbar pops up XD

Some things have been good. I think rebels was solid and had its moments. Mandalorian until season 2 was fantastic and again ahsoka had moments

I feel like its a mix bag between good and bad, woth a lot of over hate has recently been brought up by feloni. Personally, ashoka was ok. Yes, it has flaws, but it also has a lot of good moments still. Mando first 2 season was good, and the third was bad, but feloni wasn't really part of that. Obi had alot of flaws with a few good moments, so tbh im excited for his upcoming movies it could bad,good or great.

This era is nothing but nostalgia and Memberberries. How can we have Star Wars content without the Jedi or the Sith? People claim to love Star Wars without the Jedi, but every time they show up the fanbase goes insane. These smaller slice of life stories are very boring. They're still fighting the Empire and its like okay can we get new villains? Maybe we should move into the future, bring the Jedi back.

saying "ahsoka from the ahsoka show isnt similar to ahsoka from the end of clone wars" is a bad criticism is bullshit, because the problem is that she is still extremely similar to her clone wars incarnation in REBELS! she is then turned into a completely different character in the ahsoka show. it's too much change too quickly, it feels. her changes from clone wars to rebels are smaller and feel more natural, but her changes between rebels and the ahsoka show are large and don't make for a fun or believable character.

U know whats funny? We all know the filoniverse is to the sequels what the clone wars is to the prequels So why didnt it work? Because every single thing in the filoniverse we just already know its not there in the sequels Dont matter how strong thrawn is, how ahsoka and the rebels crew fight him, its just not there for the time of the sequels But, something even more funny is that, that's exactly the same logic to what Andor and rogue one is to the ep4 Everything in andor and rogue one, even if they all don't appear in ep4, it's just so damn good That says a lot about how really the sequels were one of the worst things to happen to star wars, not only by being unplanned but literally being just .. bad and lame

I'm torn because i like their animated stuff but in live action unless Andor, it feels tired and hollow, it's dead.

Filoni is wildly overrated as a creator. Clone Wars is not as deep as people remember and is full of lore contradictions. The man routinely even contradicts his own new lore.

Ahsoka was fine until the last two episodes. It's similar to the lack of emotional weight that we could've seen with Luke and Ahsoka. The interactions with Ezra and Sabine were so watered down and lacking that I ended up checking out on what I was once invested in. That, and the character of Sabine herself came across so bland, entitled, and void of consequence made me dislike someone I really enjoyed in Rebels. On Rosario's portrayl of Ahsoka, I think the state of the character isn't the issue. It was her acting itself. It was dry, bland, wooden, and devoid of emotion. Sabine was the same. I feel like it boils down to direction and not the actors themselves. Overall, good video 👏👏

For me episode 5 of Ahsoka is the worst demonstration of all fan-service with no mind for story telling and it completely disconnected me from the rest of the season. What did Ahsoka even learn? fight or die? that's so dumb! and even if it wasn't a stupid lesson for this character, how is it relevant to that season? it isn't. That episode was clearly a concept they wanted to do with no mind to how it fits the show, it feels like a first draft of the script, and it didn't have to be like that, it was well directed, acted, paced, but ultimately ruined by a bad script for me.

i’m just extremely skeptical about thrawn fighting the grysk, dave should be trying to satisfy both generations of thrawn fans, not just one.....He can’t just be in a black and white light,. he has so much more nuance. we need the Grysk and Chiss as well, I don’t trust Dave to do that. do you think dave would be dumb enough to NOT incorporate the grysk? i feel like he's forgotten them, if we didn't get vanto in tales of the empire, then no grysk...

In Rebels Kanan said, that Sabines mandalorian behaviour would be the reason she couldn‘t use her force. Exactly, what was said in the Ahsoka-show. Don‘t see the problem there. And not to forget: One of Sabines ancestor was Tar Viszla, the first mandalorian jedi.

I feel as if the series is truly creatively bankrupt. Any new ideas are panned by audiences or are straight up bad. They milked the teat dry by rehashing the same tired ideas, characters, and plot beats that I just do not find any merit in Star Wars anymore.

5. The Book Of Boba Fett (massively misguided and massively dissapointing. Hot take though, episode 2 is the best episode of the season with an excellently focuses story. Best directing of the season. And an exciting train heist.) 4. The Mandalorian Season 3 (moments of fun but mostly confusing writing choices. Loved the action though. I think there are some great starship battles here.) 3. The Mandalorian season 1 (overrated imo. I enjoy the simple nature to a point, but prefer more streamlined and complex storytelling.) 2. The mandalorian season 2 (really love the direction the show took. I find the episodes in isolation to be far more exciting than season 1s. Love the ashoka episode.) 1. Ahsoka season 1 ( by no means a masteriece. But i love the fact this tells a straightforward streamlined story that works as if its an extended film. Love the whole new galaxy componant too. Great lightsabre battles. Felt like pure star wars to me.) .... nothing holds a candle to Andor though.... but very few shows of any franchise come close to Andor....

Filoni doesn’t love Star Wars. If he loved it, he would abide by the canon put in place by writers before him. Filoni want’s everything to be how he wants it. The stories that came before mean nothing to him.

Like, WoW and the MCU, its tired and had too many face lifts rather than respecting the wisdom and dignity that comes with age. It pretends to still be relevant despite being a tired old hag clinging to youth that was lost so many years ago. And naturally it has no choice because like WoW and the MCU its a coping mechanism for aging nerds that cannot let themselves move on. Like WoW and the MCU, it should have died with greatness rather than becoming a hollow cash cow for an evil oligarchic regime. Now let's get into this video :D
