On a v6 twin turbo is it better to inject the 6 cylinders with 6injectors just spray with two on the inlet to the plenum as I’ve heard that when using only two injectors the rear cylinders do not get the same amount of spray ?

How about disadvantages Termal strain on cylinder head and intakes, plus methanol more corrosive to aluminium than to carbon iron, plus sooth formation on valves from gasoline burning will be completely eliminated by methanol and sooth is a lubricant for valves

Hello I have an caddy ats v, so far its 19 psi 540 hp and i will go to 600hp soon with almost 21 or 22 psi. In this case does the car need meth injection ? Or is it safe enough without it, and what is the side effect if i did not install meth ?

You stated that @5:05 its highly corrosive and a special pump is required however that same fluid is being sprayed with the incharge like it should so the question here is wouldn't that same corrosive fluid sprayed cause any damage to the engine internals? pistons/cylinder walls/plugs or any contact points? Im running a fitech fuel injection system with a procharger and intercooler on a BB chevy @ 10.1 comp making 6 to 8 psi on pump gas. Where would the injectors for the meth system be mounted above or below the throttle plates?

Since Fuel Injection is our specialty, this question is not something we can give much more advice on. I would suggest contacting the companies that manufacture methanol kits as they will likely have great suggestions for you. We work a lot with the guys over and Alky Control, and Snow Performance is another big name as well.

How do these work on winter driven daily drivers? Will anything freeze? Also, (this may be a dumb question), but is it possible to turn off meth injection and just go back to normal, or do certain engines require it? I know it will lessen the HP but i am curious.

Yeah. I had a kit on a 500hp turbo and when it ran out, it just felt like I had lost 50hp, but it still drove fine, and strong. T The water/methanol mix basically just makes the car run like it's always on a cold start, or as though the weather is cold.

once it runs out, it goes back to what it was before. The only time it'd probably not be alright, is if you needed the water/meth because your car might blow up without it, cause of extra boost/heat or whatever reason.

Kits like aqua mist have a low level sensor in the tank which triggers a warning light in its gauge. They also have safe monitoring feature which puts you onto a non wmi map.

I have sbc gen1 383 stroker with 142 blower. 6.9 psi at 30 degrees total timing..My question is; ıf İ make my boost like 11 psi.. Can İ get away just by dropping total timing to like 20 degree of total timing?or msn 6btm. Or both?

We recommend getting "How to Rebuild GM LS-Series Engines" by Car Tech. According to the book, it suggests to start the cam bolts by hand, torque to 18-26ft-lbs (cams with three small retaining bolts) or 66ft-lbs plus 40 degrees (cams with one large retaining bolt).

Water meth and alcohol meth are not to be confused …. I have M1 meth by vp racing .. Water meth =cools the car Alcohol meth =cools the car BUT it raises octane which means more timing and more power

@@mach183 that makes sense. The one my dad is referring to is apparently a Subaru thing where you spray water at the intake to make the air colder. I think it’s for NA cars. He does it on his bikes too and always claimed it makes a big difference.

Can you explain what’s the difference between methanol and Nos ( I know ones a liquid and ones a gas) but why pick one over the other? Meth injection is to control knock and temperature .it is primarily for cooling purpose not octane boost. Nos is a power fuel with an oxidizer sprayed in for short periods of time. The two are not related in any way just to clarify

You will see benefits but not like a boosted car you may see 10tq 10hp while a boosted car would see 50tq 50hp I would recommend nitrous on a N/A set up cold and powerful

methanol injection was used in aviation prior to introduction into auto industry. anything that increases octane & reduces operating temps is going to improve performance regardless of whether boosted or not. it also increases engine life due to running @ lower temps most of the time

Absolutely- There are a couple advantages to a meth-H20 system for a N/A engine. #1- You can tune the ignition timing to run at a more advanced rate which generally translates to more HP. This is due primarily to the methanol elavating the octane level of 'pump gas' you're running. #2- The injected mixture dramatically lowers the 'intake charge' tempature, which in fact will "densify" the charge going in to the combustion chamber, which alone creates more HP without adjustments to timing(think of this as the difference between running your car on a very hot summer day as opposed to a cold winter day and how the engine feels much more crisp on that cold day). And #3- The injected mist 'cleans' the inside of the combustion chamber by removing carbon deposits, etc. I'm probably missing something else but these should be reasons enough to run the system IMO

Likely not. The tank is not what provides pressure to the methanal nozzle. It is the pump in the system. You would be pressurizing the backside of the methanol pump which may not be what the methanol kit manufacturers suggest.

I'm going to try denatured alcohol on my modified go-kart and research shows it is about 50% ethanol, 50% methanol. Opened the main jet to a .062 Will just need to "flush" the whole system with gasoline when after each use.

That’s not even the best part The best part is the fact meth injection replaces the need for an intercooler, the need of race fuel while built cars usually have big mods, it’s newer cars where meth setup is suited best-with new cars, you don’t have to hack the car for intercoolers etc also, response! buy not needing a big intercooler for boost, meth uses the factory pipes and this is more suited for spool time also, your car bay stays stock-this is a big bonus for expensive cars
