Another brilliant skit comedy done by Harry, is called " I saw you coming " whereby he runs an antique shop, with completely clueless customers buying very overpriced crappy furniture and other stuff. He also runs a cafe, he charges them extra if they ask for no sugar, because the coffee is "sugar free ".

After my vasectomy I had to take a semem sample into the hospital to check there were no sperm in it. I whispered to the receptionist that I'd brought my sample & with quite a loud voice she replied "oh, it's a semen sample. Just put it in this box". I turned around to leave & everyone in the waiting area was looking at me. I was so embarrassed that I just blurted out "that's right, I had a wank into a plastic pot" & then just walked out. 😂

I have been in hospital so often through my life that little embarrasses me. I was in a short stay ward for people having treatment for a heart condition. It was a mixed ward, four women four men. I was talking to a couple of the women and saying how I was scratching in itch, made myself bleed and had to get a nurse to help stop the bleeding. I said how where I was scratching made it awkward, immediately the women guessed and started falling about laughing.

I hate when you book an appointment with the receptionist in a room full of waiting patients they want to know the reason you're there. Guaranteed my neighbours knew before my ex husband I was expecting. Mind you 30+ years ago but since then nothing changes now a screen with speakers like talking to an inmate in prison. Echos.

You do know he's doing a south African accent in this skit. Harry is a national treasure and that is coming from a Scottish Highlander, let's not forget Paul Whitehouse, another national treasure. Looking at them though "they're probably quare".

As an Anglo South African I found Harry Enfield funny, although he is clearing imitating the stereotypical Afrikaaner who has learned how to speak English and moved to the UK....Afrikaaners are very much like Gremans, very loud and commanding, although not all "white" South Africans speak like this....anyway a cool reaction Tysheen

He was emulating/playing the typical white South African emigrant stereotypes we had in the UK back late in the 90s to early 2000s, being boisterous and they didn't mince words, and in my dealings not far off but clearly not as exaggerated as this clip.

Harry often used stereotypes and makes them extreme. From Kevin the teenager, to Jurgen the German tourist and his American elderly couple on tour in England. The Pharmacist character is a South African. White South Africans are very very open talkers and not worried about how you feel. Its a stereotype extreme. Jurgen the German is just as funny. Here's the thing, there are total assholes like that and they feel so entitled while everyone wants to vomit by how tasteless and pointlessly rude they are. It's like, boundaries!!?? How are you a pharmacist? Gotta have high standards of professional discretion for these professions obviously. But it's funny when someone who deserves it gets it. They're indiscriminately rude if it suits them more than it doesn't at the time, but it's usually more nuanced than this guy lol.

Some mothers do have them has many amazing moments. The actor playing Frank Spencer is Michael Crawford. If you go through the clips you will see that he did most of the stunts himself - find the clip of him at the cliff edge or when he goes roller skating.

FAO those without the historical perspective, Enfield is mimicking an Afrikaans South African, they were known then for a more racist attitude to "non-whites" such as his assistant, hence the shouting, master-slave style

Regarding the cheating wife: you can't say it's not her husband's business. If that were true, the term 'marital infidelity' wouldn't exist. Everything about him is his wife's business, and vice versa. That's a given in marriage. If that, or any other part of marriage, is disagreeable to you, then you have no business getting married. Marriage isn't a buffet where you get to choose only the bits you like. Otherwise, it's a joke and you have no business participating in it at all.
