Just saw this film. I felt physically sick from disgust and indignation. My highest admiration for Rob Bilott and his steadfastness and for Ruffalo who made a film about such an important topic. I hope many go see it, but since it doesn't have a superhero- wait it DOES!

I started working at DuPont, Washington Works Plant in July 1981,as a first year Millwrights Local Union 1755 apprentice, never smoked cigarettes, was an avid runner and in excellent health. 4 years later I started having siezures, the second time I went to the emergency room and was hospitalized for 3 days of continuous medical test. I was diagnosed in January, 1986, after a 4 months rebuild of the Teflon division with hypothyroidism. 34 years later and still have a very high amount of C-8 in my blood and still have to get continuous blood work done for the correct amount of thyroid medication. Thank you Robert Billot for your hard work and dedication.

I was a plaintiff in this class action lawsuit... and i learned more from this interview than i knew my entire life while this lawsuit was in process. I had no idea its in me and not going away 🤦‍♀️ the lawsuit began when I was in elementary school and didnt get settled until i was 30 years old. That’s how hard they had to fight. My entire family suffered serious long term health issues. I had high blood pressure in every single pregnancy.

AND they made around 40 billion from it. Same crap that went out with financial shenanigans in '08 by Wall Street behemoths that blew up and almost caused another Great Depression again. The money they spent in legal fees , fines, and settlements etc., still made a gigantic profit for them which Bilott's character , played by Mark points out during an initial settlement signing of documents with the now sick and dying farmer, THAT's the problem, besides the revolving door with Washington, people more interested in a fat salary and career rather than doing the right (I mean correct, LOL) thing , lobbyists, Citizen's United ruling with the big money in politics (public financing only and equal air time- if you lose a fair election (I mean no voter suppression or gerrymandering crap) your policies suck and you deserve to lose), This is why I LOVE Bern and to a lesser extent even Warren.

vanilla bean he is a real life hero. I’m one of the people affected by DuPont’s poison. I’m grateful for Mr Billot and Mark. I have MS, had to have a radical hysterectomy at 30, and my spine is deteriorating. No amount of money can compensate for the sufferings of all affected. I’m grateful this movie was made and I hope the world takes notice. These companies build factories in rural areas, employ the community and donate to schools, local organizations, etc...so no one questions their pollution. Most people, including my parents and grandparents thought they were helping them. I’ve lost 4 family members to cancer, one of whom was an 8 year old cousin. I’m now 42, and I’m in poor health because of DuPont and PFOAs. Please watch the documentary “The Devil We Know.” It shows you how sinister the coverup really was.

I’ve also had every tooth replaced by implants and bridges. My teeth started deteriorating as a child. I could literally break a permanent tooth eating bread. I had silver crowns on most of my baby teeth by the 3rd grade and I wasn’t alone. They have harmed millions. Our government is completely captive to these corporate monsters.

Just finished watching this movie a couple of minutes ago and it's amazing. Apparently, PFOA was put on the elimination list in the EU in 2020, something I've only found out about after doing research after the movie, and I am a law student in central Europe. The case on PFOA and the amazing lawyer really needed more coverage because I and millions of other people are completely dumbfounded about this public health threat

I saw this movie yesterday. And just like you, I obtained more information afterwards. It is incredible that so little is known about the level of contamination with this chemical. And that so little is being done about it. I also find it worrying that there are so few CRITICAL search results when you google this topic / Du Pont / Teflon etc ... (well, at least with the search results in Germany). This is one of those films that I think should be shown in schools.

Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA). The health effects are shocking. Doctors tell you that it’s your lifestyle, what you eat, etc. that causes certain health problems, which is right but probably not in the way they mean.

@@rebekatalebi8046Doctors rely on scientific papers too, you know? If there weren't papers written about it, if the data is hidden, how were they supposed to know? Your practicing medical doctors often don't do this kind of research, it's often the university doctors who do, but even they need non-medical lab data.

I have long used cast iron or straight steel ones- avoid aluminum too because of alzheimer's ( like TFal- though some have it while some don't and Farberware. Cast Iron is good for getting some iron in your blood too, but can scratch glass top stoves like mine so I have to be careful on the range with it. How ro wash a pot with no coating (let it soak after boiling some water and baking soda in it etc. I can live with that !), but it is on everything and they haven't proven the safety of their replacement (which the first came up with in the 70s too) for it either so based upon their corporate track record I DON"T trust them PERIOD.

I basically live in Duponts back yard here in Beckley, West Virginia. I’m 39 years old and was completely unaware the world has been poisoned by this company. I’ve just lost my 54 year old mother to Colin cancer. It showed up in April 2020, she was diagnosed June 6 and died July 3, 2020. She had over 18 tumors and on June 1st she was paralyzed by one of the tumors that broke her neck. I’ve lost countless family members to cancer here in West Virginia. After watching this documentary it truly makes a grieving son wonder....what if ?

Just saw the movie today....It is AMAZING. Oh My Goodness - EVERYBODY needs to see this movie! So wish it got more airplay. Saw lots of the holiday movies over the season and had 2 I hadn't seen and saw they were leaving the theaters today so went and saw them both - Dark Waters was one of them - Best Holiday movie I saw in Nov, Dec or January!!!

After seeing parts of the movie Dark Waters, I've decided to no longer eat beef. I did not know about DuPont nor the contaminated water, cigarettes, pots & pans, and...cows. So, what I want to know is "Did ALL the farmers take that big loss killing, burning, and burying their contaminated cows or was that what the 'mad cow disease' was all about that supposedly came from beef that made it to market?" Is that why other countries were literally fighting at the border because they didn't want American beef in their country? I thought DuPont was a reputable company???! What is going on?! It states that once we have the chemicals in our bodies, we can never get them out causing all kinds of health issues. I feel so tainted!

No, even though the cows got crazy acting at the Farmer's, Mad Cow comes from the abnormality in a prion (protein found on the cells in the nervous system only) . They think it is due to multiple infectious diseases and there are diseases that cause nervous system problems & craziness on their own and causes malformation and damage to tissue after effects which is why getting ones' kid vaccinated is SO IMPORTANT !- think rabies, syphilis, various other hook viruses that attack nervous system tissue. Mad Cow started in the UK when contaminated feed using diseased sheep parts was fed to Cows there and spread through either selling the beef to the continent mainly or contaminated feed, or cows to other countries. The US actually had few cases of it and most occurred in the UK and then the European countries. The US cases mostly came from livestock bought in Canada which was contaminated from imported UK feed or stock. Stricter regulations were set and it is rare to hear about a new case . There are some bad natural diseases out there.

megahappy2beme When you feed herbivores ( cattle) meat by-products, the consequences are BSE (mad cow disease). Unfortunately farmers have abrogated their moral responsibility. Animals and human beings are paying the price.
