Lady C schooled me on the seam line of Meghan's dress too. That beige dress looked very off to me, the pucker under Meghan's left armpit looked terrible, but I thought, oh well, must be the intention of the dressmaker....lol, BUT THEN LADY C EDUCATED ME BY SAYING THAT MEGHAN WORE IT WRONG, she had to expose her shoulder, and that seam line was supposed to line up straight down her torso.....MEGHAN HAS ABSOLUTELY RUINED DESIGNER LOOKS IN THE PAST....WHEN DOES SHE STOP TRYING TO CHANGE EVERYTHING SHE TOUCHES??

@tarifauth7777 There are photos on the designer's website of it being worn the way Meghan wore it. I think it was meant to be versatile. That particular issue was a design flaw, this time, not necessarily Meghan's fault for once, although she could have opted to wear it any way that didn't have that awkward bulge.

My husband was away over Christmas so it was me and the kiddos. I usually had friends over but I thought I'd get an early night for once (11pm). I had all the pressies under the tree, all the snacks and goodies made and went to bed. At 6am I was woken up by the kids who had gone into the lounge and found a mess of wrapping paper all over, the gifts gone, the food gone and all the booze gone as well as the existing games consoles and TV. We'd been burgled 😢 I was inconsolable. My best friend interrupted her own Christmas and drove 60 miles with a quickly put together hamper of lovely Christmas goodies to cheer me up. My friends have always been my best all year round gift every day, every year. 😊

You asked for a Christmas tree story. We lived in Durban South Africa and most people bought live trees from a charity. Many years ago (probably mid seventies), my parents had given us money and told us 3 kids (about ages 14, 12, 10) to go down the road and buy us a tree. Trees were about 1.4 m so not huge and within the possibility of carrying it about half a km from the tree charity stall. But us kids thought we could do better things with that money (like buy sweets and lucky packets). So we got the small axe and went into a small forest area and cut down a small tree from the forest, hauled it home, lied to our parents that we has bought the tree. We'll we raised and decorated the tree and went to bed thinking we had been so clever. Next morning we go into the lounge and there were insects all over the place. My parents freaked. Apparently these were some sort of borer beetle that were forced out of the tree by the heat in the lounge. The charity trees were treated but a wild tree was not. Of course we had to own up and clear every insect in the room, get rid of the tree and use our pocket money to buy a charity tree. Lesson well learned. Thank you for gossip shows. Love them.

When we first had our kittens 20 years ago I had not anticipated how much they would really love the Christmas tree. Two days after it was put up I heard the screaming sound coming from the tree and it was one of the kittens all wrapped up in the lights and the tinsel screaming unable to get out. My biggest disaster was when the children spent a very long time decorating our tree. Later I heard a crash and the sound of breaking glass. I ran downstairs and discovered our puppy had become tangled in the lights, pulled the tree over and dragged it half way across the room. My personal tree disaster was decorating a beautiful live fir tree. I loved it and was so proud. Then the tree died in less than a week and I had needles all over the family room; quite literally. I swear I was finding needles under the rugs and in nooks and crannies until the following July. And yes, I did keep it watered. That was the very last cut tree I ever bought.

My Christmas story involves my brilliant (teenaged) idea to put fiberglass (angel hair) around each of the tree lights. It took forever but looked lovely...or so I thought. My brother was laying in front of the tree, watching TV, when the tree suddenly fell over on him. He was trapped under the tree and covered in fiberglass. The clean up was a nightmare and the sweater he was wearing had to be thrown out. One of my most vivid memories from over 60 years ago.

I enjoyed your take on the goings on, especially the weird disconnect, AR Bot Scobie connection & Oprah’s “you’re enough”! Also; what a blast from the past.. We used to joke that “The Good Life” was based on my parents who had the suburban mini farm, except with a bunch of kids thrown in! Loved that show, but never saw the Christmas special!

Love the episode today it's so much related to me. Your Christmas tree story had me in stitches and since it's 6:00 in the morning here in the US in Connecticut I woke everyone else up in the house. The other thing I got a big kick out of was your yoga and your dog I have a new Great Dane puppy and the minute I'm on the floor she pounces on top of me and she's 120 lb I can't do any exercise that relates to the floor she's in my face licking me over rolling next to me putting her 50 ft long legs all over the top of my body and then when I go to stand up she has to run through my legs so you never know what angle she's coming at you. Keep up the great work Shawna I love waking up to your stories.

I also love The Good Life - One of the Christmas episodes is causing me to have nightmares at the moment. The one where Fortnum & Masons doesn't deliver Margo and Jerry's Christmas. I've got a Sainsbury's Christmas food & drink delivery booked this year and I'm panicking that they won't deliver part or all it. I've actually booked it for the Friday before, just in case!

@@Kari_B61ex I know. Someone said it might’ve been because my friend and I only had a small crown turkey and M&S expect you to have that before Christmas Day. I’m not sure, but I check dates every time now. Oh, and because it was M&S they gave me a bottle of their Buck’s Fizz free (it wasn’t that expensive, could’ve bought it myself). One year, Waitrose made a mistake on a Christmas order and gave me a bottle of Baileys! Very different lol

It was not a red carpet. It was a photo opportunity. And she certainly seized the moment. She inserted herself into a crowd that she assumed were her equals but all others did not share the sentiment . The redundant beige dress was sloppy looking, but her being photogenic saved the look. We all wondered what was she there for ?

As a fellow Queenslander, when you said you had hung biscuits on the tree, my first thought was "oh no, cockroaches and ants!" Melting bikkies did not occur to me! The Good Life was one of my favorite shows back in the day, and my Dad had a huge crush on Felicity Kendall. Mentioning 'singularity' and AI creating it's own server space reminds me of the Scarlett Johansson movie "Her" in which a human man develops a relationship with an operating system that he thinks is only for him, but isn't. The thing that bothers me about AI and deep-fakes in CGI is the ability to create lifelike photos and videos using real people's images and voices. That was the first thing I thought of when it was suggested that the dimwit duo could release audio of their supposed phone call to the King. They are the sort of people who can and will abuse the technology. In fact I think the sugars already have by released supposed photos of the Princess of Wales looking quite old and haggard. We've had photoshop for years, but this is a massive step up.

Oprah saying anything is annoying to me. "You are enough" , the equivalent of everyone getting a participation ribbon. Everyone can use work on some aspect of themselves, part of being human. 5 years ago I started low carb/keto for chronic pain, 1 month in , pain gone and over 6 months I lost 32 pounds. Still eat this way, sugar and carbs are the devil and kill good health.

This is a story about my grandfather who was intoxicated when my grandparents arrived for Christmas in 1972 at my parents house in a conservative small town in Illinois, USA. My grandfather was my father’s Dad and my mom had a giant turkey and ham in the oven. My grandfather brought a enormous goose to cook for dinner. It made my mom rather upset because she planned out her entire meal . We did have a stove downstairs in the basement with an oven, but that oven was cooking food also. Our Christmas Day back then with all of my cousins and aunts and uncles, it was a full house with about 23 people. My grandfather was way too intoxicated and I just remember watching from my bedroom window when my grandfather blew his top and he just threw the frozen goose down driveway at a record speed. The goose slid on the snowy driveway hitting every bump. He was absolutely fixated on cooking his goose and no one wanted a goose. I was mortified at ten years old, as I watched the unwrapped goose make its way across the street onto the neighbors driveway. Who knows what the nice older lady and her husband thought the next morning when they saw the goose. That was my thrilling Christmas in 1972 and I really remember thinking my friends on my block would know the big abandoned goose came from our house, and that was dreadfully embarrassing. ❄️ 🎄 ❄️
