I have been using Astra SP blades for the past 6 months. I tried Gillette Platinum blades and I love them. Very sharp and smooth. Going ATG on my moustache and cheeks felt incredible. Absolutely love these blades. Just bought 120 GP’s today. Best shave ever; the only variable I changed was blade.

For a Russian labeled blade I really like Voskhod, but like the Permasharp, they don't seem to last as long. Those Naset seem to be showing up and well recommended by most, so they're next on the shopping list. I still have to rate Feather as my personal favorite, but you mileage my vary. Great list Jack, thanks for the links and review.

Wow 37 shaves with one blade.I'm tossing my blades too early after 3 shaves.I haven't been DE shaving that long and just jumped on the 3 shaves a blade.I'm going to see how many decent shaves i can get from now on.Just found your channel mate subscribed.

Great list. Nacet is my number one, with Wizamet in second. I have used the Nacet blades for years, but I only have a recently started using the wizamet. They might take my number one spot after I have gotten more shaves with them. They do seem to last longer than the Nacet blades. Number 3,4 and 5 are interchangeable for me, but I would probably say Astra SP, Voskhod and number 5 might be Feather but i seldom go for that option. Feather was my favorite for a long time, but I found other options that I now prefer.

Interesting list as some of the really big guns aren’t here... which has me realizing I need to try some new blades lol. I’m definitely intrigued by the wizimet blades. Have a great day bud!

1. Permasharp (by miles) 2. Wizamet 3. Feather 4. Astra 5. Nacet (strangely I only get 2 shaves and then it's done l) *Polsilver would be high up but I haven't used them for ages.

Nice list Jack! My top de blades are Perma sharp, polsilver, wizamet, Gillette Wilkinson sword (Indian), Gillette 7 o clock black, Personna platinum, and Gillette Nacet

Great List Jack! I really do like the Wizamet blades best also!! I like all the blades you mentioned but I agree that the Wizamets are my favorite for now

Thank you. I concur on the Wizamet blades. I have no experience of the PolSilver branded blades, and at their current prices I have no intention of doing so. I do enjoy the Perma Sharps and Nacets as well, in that order. But, if I could only have one blade it would be the Wizamet Super Iridium. I have yet to try the Bic blade.

Great list Jack. The only blade on your list I haven’t tried is the Bic chrome platinum. My top blade is the Gillette Nacet. I recently grew out my facial hair and used the nacet in the stainless karve with the oc-f plate and while there was blade feel it was still smooth and got a great shave.

Hay Jack I bought a pack of the Whizmet Iridium Supers and your right they worked VERY WELL in my Paradigm Dimond back. Thanks for the info. Probably one of my best shaves yet :)

Nice video! I, too, try to get as many shaves out of a single blade. I’m not sure why, since I own around 1,500+ of them. I just can’t see binning a blade if it still performs well. Love the Wizamet, too!

Wizamut is produced in Poland, they also produced the Polsilver in early days. Gillette bought the Brand Polsilver and the productionline was brought to St. Petersburgh Russia.

The Perma-Sharp is at the top of my list. I need to pick up some Nacets. I haven't tried any since my first few weeks of using a DE. They seem to be really popular these days.

Ohh that’s a tough one Jack one of these blades I could shave is Wizamet rest don’t quite get along as I get skin irritation and doesn’t suit my need and my cup of coffee lol.. For me Tiger Platinum & Tatra as it’s same company no irritation close smooth shave 3x usage it’s done and good to me.. Take care Alan H

Great selection Jack 😊 Nacet is by far my number 1. I have however placed an order of 25 Wizamet from Try A blade, just cause I heard nothing but praise for this blade. I am just not sure whether this is a new batch and if it is still as good as you are describing. As it is a rare blade to find, I am a bit suspicious of authenticity but let's see.

You should try Personna israeli blue shaveing with a Fatip razor with a Yuma baseplate, I'm on 54 uses shave every 2 day and still going! The Personna isreali blue's are sharp but smooth blades they are simalar to the wizmet, but the personna blues are more cheaper than the wizmet! From 1-54 uses I have not had one nicks or cuts with the personna isr. blues yet !!!!!

Solid list, Jack! Are the Wizamet blades that you have Russian or Polish? I have a bunch of Polish Wizamet Polsilver Stainless DE blades that I picked up years ago. They are in the brown pack. I believe they're ones that Michael Freedberg really enjoyed. The Wizamet and Polsilver blades seem intertwined historically and some are made in Russia and some in Poland. Supply is very scarce at times. Cheers! -Rob

Interesting choices, I would have bet for the usual suspects feather, astra but I was surprised. It's a stupid question but I'll ask it anyways. Thoughts on the Nacet? They say they're pretty stable blades in term of efficiency and longevity, I can't say cause nothing else cuts my beard ATG other than a feather :D

Comments to your blades: 1 - not really available here in Germany/Europe (for reasonable prices) 2 - Nacet, wonderful blade´ 3 - Polsilver, haven't tried those yet 4 - BIC, not for me, tried 2 packs, not a single blade was really good, only lasted 2 shaves 5 - Perma-Sharp, very good blade Beyond that I like Gillette Platinum, Bolzano superinox and recently Dorco Titan.

Feather blades are notoriously short lived, and they change performance rapidly. So much so that some people "cork" them before the first use. Astra SP's are IME good for 3 shaves. They are priced suitably, but cost aside, Nacets and PermaSharps are IME smoother and longer lived.

Shocked at Polsilver? No, but your #4 choice is crazy talk, at least for me...
@TheVirtualGroomroom4 жыл бұрын
why’s that?
@D4PPZ4564 жыл бұрын
Do you find much difference in how the Wizamet and Polsilver shave? The new batches of Wizamets are more than likely just rebranded Polsilvers, from what I understand, as the Russian factory began reproducing Wizamets when Polsilvers became scarce. I have trouble believing they retooled in some way to reproduce when is likely a minute difference between the iridium blades, if there was one in the first place.
@TheVirtualGroomroom4 жыл бұрын
They can't be the same blade, one lasts 5 times longer...
@D4PPZ4564 жыл бұрын
@@TheVirtualGroomroom Other than the longevity, is the shave experience the same?
@Retroweld4 жыл бұрын
@@D4PPZ456 For me...yes. Can't tell them apart from both sharpness and smoothness. Feels exactly the same. I buy mine from Wizashave.com. You get a bigger discount the more blades you buy. I've heard people have had problems from Wizablade so make sure you buy from the right place. I've bought 1,500 from Wizashave and had zero problems. Hope that helps.
