What I enjoy about Nirvana’s albums (Bleach/Nevermind/Incesticide/In Utero/Unplugged is they’re fairly different from one another. You can tell Kurt wasn’t happy with pumping out carbon copies year after year. His song writing definitely matured as well.

In my opinion, In Utero vs. Bleach is the ultimate battle, I LOVE BOTH. Nevermind is my favorite, obviously, but still, I love all Nirvana Albums

You mentioned the Breeders cover of HIAWG. Unsurprisingly, Kurt LOVED Breeders. More than any group though, he loved the Beatles, and their influence is all over his love of a melody. No matter how noisy or technically simple his songs were, there’s always an earworm. Had he decided to stick around and not wanted to perform anymore, I legitimately think he could have written songs for pop artists.

Apparently "Bleach" is a little repetitive. But that''s just music. It makes it danceable t.b.h... It is up there with "In Utero" to me.

I agree that it's an important album but definitely not their best. You will vibe the most with Nevermind for sure. Even more so than In Utero I think. Looking forward to hearing your other Nirvana reactions.

Speaking of dollars. Kurt still technically owes Jason Everman $606.17 for the recording of this album. He never paid him back, and he never played a note on the album! He toured with Nirvana and also was a part of Soundgarden. He went on to be a badass in the U.S. Military in his own right. Kurt wasn't happy about Love Buzz being their first single as a cover but, Tracy Marander recalled the first time they heard it on the radio in the car. Kurt was ecstatic... Kurt didn't kill himself. @@absolute5172 The "Incesticide" version is great, but the b-side version from the Teen Sprit single (which is more widely known) is not very good in comparison IMO.

I like both versions of Aneurysm but probably prefer the Incesticide. The SLTS version is slower paced but I love the feedback blips Kurt uses between riffs. Kinda wish he added that into the other version. I was always bummed Kurt didn’t perform his awesome scream in the song while playing live.

I like bleach a lot. Just the intensity the raw sound and Kurt's singing and melody. I actually prefer School, Negative Creep, Floyd, and Blew. All that said Bleach might be my least favorite Nirvana album I might even like Incesticide more. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your Nirvana reviews and you should consider watching Nirvana's last song "You Know Your Right" when you're done with all the albums.

Everman never had any say on the album. They put him on the cover as a way of saying, hey we acknowledged you helping out on the live shows. I believe that is the accurate reason. Just so he didn't feel left out? He did the live shows with them as a backing musician. But Bleach is pretty much Kurt Cobain, Chad Channing and Krist Novoselic and the drummer from Melvins helping out on 3 tracks.

From what I remember, Jason joined the band after Bleach was recorded but before it was released. And he was in Soundgarden before that.
