I was 10 years old. I watch this video and I recorded it and reacted to it. It’s hard to explain her voice because it’s immaculate. It’s she makes all kinds of real but the way she saying that she everything she planned everything she’s gonna do and she knows exactly what she’s gonna do. The band is fantastic and she start out slow and build it up real slow and easy it’s really good I really enjoyed it via video fact I put on my playlist.

Her gorgeous vocal tones aside, her impeccable sense of timing always allows the song what it needs to achieve it's maximum effect. Add to that the fact she has been keenly aware of how to manage an entire stage, band and all, since she was seven years old, is absolutely phenomenal! Angelina Jordan is, and will always be, practically peerless in my book!

It might be interesting to know, that on Angelinas own request, her mother took her to Bodil Niskas recordshop and "jacc café" "Bare Jazz", to listen to all the old masters of jazz. Bodil Niska is a quite recognized Jazz saxophonist in Norway - This was mostly when Angelina Jordan was in pre school age. There is videos of the child -deep into Billie Hollyday, when she was 4 or 5 years old.

Thanks Christi for your profesional and indepth review of Angelina. I am impressed by one of your reviews mentioning the spritual side of Angelina's artistry. My name's Fuad. I am far away from Indonesia, South East Asia Region. I just found Angelina's youtube channel on 8th '21 right on the second week of my Covid19 isolation. I watched her singing Gloomy Sunday, Bohemian Rapshody, Yellow Brick road, etc. Her songs and performance help me fight against this almost unbearable and painful desease. Thanks God I survived. I believe the finding of AGJ' channel not by accident. There Must be invisible power that directed my fingers to it. The power that exist in her. When she sings, that invisible power adjusts her toungue, lips, eyes, hand moving, breath, and blows heavenly sounds into every not she sings. I am sure that I am not the only one in the world who feel such power in Angelina. For me Angelina more than a gifted singer, she is the healer for desperated people in the world. Thank you very much AGJ. May God protect you always. 😭😭❤️🇮🇩🙏🙏 Regards Fuad PS. Could you please review Oslo.Written by Angelina.?

Isn't it a trip to watch her perform so flawlessly, to see her effortless mastery, and when it's over she's just a little girl curtseying on the stage? You seem to have a new look. Love it. (Notice how she flicks her hair over her should right before that big finish? It's a characteristic move. She even does it in her 8 year old Norway's Got Talent.)

What should blow your mind is that she probably arranged this herself, it’s at her tempo and the musicians are following and supporting her!
@squidkid23 жыл бұрын
What's remarkable about this performance is how she's RUNNING the band. It seems like the better the backup and the arrangement the more it drives her and how she in turn drives the band. She becomes one with the band. It would be amazing if someone so young could just handle singing the song but she transcends that and this becomes about the whole package coming together. The song, the singer, the arrangement, and the performance of the band. It's like she knows everything is coming together. That one shot where they have some kind of camera that zooms in from behind and circles around in front of her. As the camera crosses in front of her face and moves to the side she gives the camera a look that says "how good is this!" It's not smugness; it's more like she knows she's in some musical sweet spot and how special the moment is. Thanks for the video its so great to get a reaction from someone who understands singing and can truly appreciate and explain to non singers what Angelina is doing and how special it is!

In your reaction to Million Miles and her cover you comment on the possible direction her music loves will take her, as well as in this reaction. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND you listen to her Live Studio Version of her latest ORIGINAL, "7th HEAVEN", she will absolutely DELIGHT your heart and ears when you hear this piece of music.. Her COVER of Adele's "All I Ask" got your attention first. I'LL bet you'll see where her true love leans and are going to LOVE IT!!!! Pleeeeeeeeeeze, PUH-LEEZ, react to it... She is absolutely beautiful, as are your insights about Angelina's talent... Of all the "Vocal Coaches" I've listened to giving a reaction to Angelina's out of this world talent, you come the closest to meeting the challenge, putting together words from our limited choices, to put words together, when there seems to be none to show how much you care about her future, and call her unashamedly what comes closest "prodigy, young genius"!! Thank you for re-visiting Angelina as she matured from your WONDERFUL reaction when she first "put a spell on YOU" "" 🤗🤗🤗💕💕

Angelina’s manager from the beginning is her uncle Michael Astar. Michael was raised in Japan and music was always his passion. After his family moved to Norway, Michael became a hip-hop DJ. As a 16-year old he was a DJ at 21+ night clubs in Oslo, Norway, getting the gigs because he looked older and no one asked his age before being hired. After getting tired of being a DJ, Michael started a music management company in 2013, and 3 months later, with no clients yet, Angelina signed-up to try out for Norway’s Got Talent. Angelina’s first audition when 7-years old was a cover of Billie Holiday’s song “Gloomy Sunday” that went viral when it got uploaded to KZbin. Then Angelina won Norway’s Got Talent, had other viral KZbins, performed on Norway, US and other TV shows and her career started to take off. Eventually she had over 1 billion views of her performances on KZbin and Facebook before Angelina’s appearances on the American’s Got Talent - The Champions show. Her performances there further accelerated her career. At this point, Angelina asked her uncle Michael if it was possible for her to move to the US to pursue her music dreams. Michael says this was a tough call, and he asked himself questions like; how on earth are you going to pull this off? What about a VISA? What about finances? Are you willing to sell everything you have and own, and also get a loan to risk everything? Michael related that “These were questions I had to ask myself, several times a day. Then, I remembered, what did my mom do when she went to Japan? She didn’t even talk Japanese or knew anyone. She did it because she risked everything for a better future.” So, Michael flew alone to Los Angeles, studied and learned anything he could learn from the people he got to know during his time in the Industry. After gathering a bunch of people, he came back to Norway and started the process. He indicated that “A few months later, I told her, PACK YOUR BAGS! We are going next week to pursue your dream! All in baby. Her smile made it all worth the hassle.” “We stayed patient because the way this industry works is bizarre and you have to dodge bullets right and left to get anywhere. But would I do it again? Of course! Life without challenge is boring," Michael says. For Michael, a lot of his time involves talking with industry people, to see what’s happening out there. Having recently become a father and with COVID-19, time has become even busier and more crazy than usual. “There is a lot of stuff happening with Angelina, and it requires daily briefings with a lot of people.” America’s Got Talent had always been interested in bringing Angelina to the show, but with their normal contract, artists are being locked into a label, management, and other things for many years. Michael says that it did not matter if you get exposure or not, it was out of the question to give away that many rights. This kind of patience eventually paid off. Michael said that “Some time passed and they again contacted me, asking if she wanted to sing on their show. I convinced them to give me a contract where Angelina is free from any deal if she performs, she is great for their TV show and Angelina will get the exposure she needs to breakthrough, because I knew, the talent is one of the kind like no other, I just needed her to be seen and was on a daily hunt for how to get the right spot for her in the USA.” After, Angelina’s success on America’s Got Talent, she eventually signed with Republic Records in August 2020 where Angelina was told she was Republic’s highest priority new artist. Michael says the commitment with the right interest in mind has been one of the most important things when choosing a team and partners to be part of Angelina’s team. “You also need to choose someone with the right chemistry. These are the people you have to deal with on a daily basis, you have to have a good feeling and chemistry with the team you choose.” Although no specifics yet, Michael says that the plans for Angelina include going global. Advice from Michael: “Go with your instinct, it never fails, crazy how nature does that. Always be humble, you get way further being a nice person, people tend to be nice back. Always read the contract. Find a good lawyer (It’s super hard to find the good one, but with dedication, you can). Don’t rely on people, you want something done? Do it yourself. If you are good at something, never do it for free (Quote from the Joker).”

I have watched a large quantity of Angelina reaction videos. Hers are the only reactions I watch. So, having had watched many, I have some favourites. We Angelina fans are very particular. For me, the search for Angelina reactors who get her is few and far between. You must know thst you are the best angelina Jordan reactor I have seen to date. The musical knowledge you bring to this reaction is astute and right out the park. What touched me the most is your recognition of Angelina's poise and calm. This is something that ALWAYS stands out for me. But very few reactors recognize ot to say anything. Yet you unpack it for what it is. Then theres Angelina's humble smile and curtsy at the end. She'll mature but she'll always remain just who we have always known her to be. That's comforting. Especially because of the world we live in now. Its nuts out there. Then comes along a little angel who crawls into our hearts and souls. Thankyou for this reaction. Ive subscribed hoping there are more if Angelina

Thanks, Christie! Your jaw dropped at the surprise ending! Of course, all of us were smiling throughout the song because we were waiting for your reaction. Isn't she wonderful? I love that smile at the camera "in the middle of the performance". She took the closeup in stride and didn't miss a beat. Christie, we are all being patient. In spite of the fact she already has millions of followers from around the world, she hasn't been officially marketed yet (family decision). And, Republic Records has agreed to the family's wishes. Although she continues to do covers and originals her priority now is her education and to enjoy life as a young teenager. But, when the time comes, Republic is more than ready to introduce Angelina to the world. Every venue in the world will want Angelina to perform. It is important to note that Angelina and family have a role in deciding where and when Angelina will perform. Republic will protect her and allow her to continue using her creative talent by not overusing her. They know who they have here and I believe they will work well together. Christie, great masterful reaction, as usual. Thanks so much.

You speak of her poise. She’s always had it along with incredible empathy. I have known her and the family since she was tiny. Her desire to sing was there from the beginning. She hated singing kid song at kindergarten always preferring Jazz and blues which the family made available to her. Billie Holiday, et al. When she was five or six she could make the windows of a room shake with her voice or reduce her voice to a whisper never rushing any phrase. Her spirit is all music but also kindness, grace, being humble, but knowing how good she is: in a good way, without ego. She is protected and much loved by her family.

I think that you've said it all when you noted: "I think that you would agree - there are few talents, adult or child, who can rival Angelina Jordan". And talking about her poise and her command of the performance, etc. Here is a quote from Angelina: "When I sing I go to another world. The world is endless. It's like, full of happiness. I love it. It's amazing and when I am on stage, I don't want to go [leave the stage]. [laughing]. I just want to be on stage". A portion of Skavlan's interview of Angelina Jordan on Norwegian TV - November 2018 As far as the "old soul" aspect of Angelina, well, I think that could be a discussion of some length.

That quote is powerful testimony to the existence of higher levels in this consciousness field that we are apparently residing.

As for the audience: Norway is a monarchy and is therefore accustomed to show respect and know one's place when they see a queen. Angelina is indisputably part of Norway's national treasure.

Christi, I really love your analysis of Angelina's overwhelming talent. I think the subdued Norwegian audience is more cultural. Most people in the audience were well aware of their National Treasure & many had followed her for 3 years since she auditioned for NGT. If you had let the video play to the end you would have seen the audience wouldn't stop clapping & then began clapping in unison like you do for an encore. When the video ends they are still clapping! Don't worry, Norwegians know the Treasure they have, they are just more polite than most American audiences.

At just 10 years old, Angelina was commissioned by Avicii to sing a demo of this song for a Volvo commercial he did. The final commercial was voiced by singer Audra Mae, but it is very clearly inspired by the demo Angelina laid down. As others have pointed out, I think a loud audience that applauds every high note is an american thing (or really a talent show thing). It seems that elsewhere in the world they listen respectfully, and save their applause for the end. Also, since you mentioned the feet... *Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked her and told Angelina she would pray for her every day. That day Angelina made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot as a way to remember that little girl and to remind us that there are less fortunate people in the world that could use our help. Angelina holds so true to this promise that she has sung outdoors in Norway, in december... barefoot. She has sung at a dinner with ex-pres Obama... barefoot. She went on AGT (possibly the biggest stage in the world)...barefoot. She made a promise at 6 years old, and has stuck strong to it for years. That takes a special kind of person.

I'm not sure of the format of the show my guess is a number of different singers. My impression is they seem stunned by what they are hearing. Nobody is perfect but this is pretty near a flawless performance she put on here. She looks relaxed and zoned in. You have to love the little girl kurtsy at the end . It's like the little girl comes back after it's over.

To see more of her progression, it would also be good to go back to her performance on Norway's Got Talent of Billie Holiday's "Gloomy Sunday" when she was only 7. You can see how singing along with the original influenced her phrasing.
