But not all. Only Siths deal in absolutes.
@Igelme2 жыл бұрын
@@crunchylettuce5446 exactly the reason you're mentioning is why it's a shit trope that should be stopped. scp is not supposed to be forever powercreeping ideas to scare 15 year old atheistic chronically online kids. you can tell by the writing these ideas wanted to be scps before they were ideas. so these people sit down, and think about what could be a good, scary scp. end result is obviously something beastly, because a safe scp isn't scary right? so they copy paste all these "earth is done/everyone is in danger/the foundation is compromised/nothing can be done/time bomb" ideas with a mix of space horror (seldom supernatural, btw) and call it a scp. it's gets extremely tiring to read the foundation saying "it's over bro" over and over, specially when they mix in obviously edgy teenager shit. Point is, if something was created to be written (these keter/uncontained), then it's almost always not worth reading.

This is one of those rare SCPs in which the fact that it specifically targets the Foundation makes it ten times more terrifying. Now this is a good one. An SCP that specifically targets the Foundation, targets them when they’re alone or with just one or two others, in the dead of night. So the interpretation that occurs to me is that this might actually be a....not benign, perhaps, but not hostile SCP. The thought I had with each description was that what was being witnessed was some distorted possible future that being drawn into SCP-6819-1 had prevented. That so long as you dodged the obstacles on the road, stayed in the car, kept going and did not go into the light, you would emerge okay. Shaken, scared, and confused, but okay. The other big questions this raises, the who, what, and why, I can only guess. The Foundation itself from a future point? Some weird echoing, boomerang effect resulting from too much exposure to too many SCPs? A test from some higher dimensional entity? Who knows? The fact that this sounds even half way plausible is what makes this a very good SCP. As always, The Volgun has done a phenomenal read of the entry. I look forward to the next.

I like the theory that non-foundation members encounter it all the time, but a lack of experience with the anomalous causes them to fail to make it out and they just seem like random traffic accidents when they are found. And that maybe a few civs make it out but are afraid to ever tell the story, or maybe even don't believe it themselves.
@The-Branch2 жыл бұрын
@@Spade1350 It says the driver has to be, or formerly be, employed by the Foundation for 6819 to occur. The only way civilians would see it is if they're a passenger of a Foundation employee.

@@The-Branch Yeah, but that is just as far as they know. Under the circumstances I am describing, it would be possible that the Foundation wouldn't realize it was occurring to others. I also wonder if maybe it were only targetting Foundation members, if it could potentially target future members.
@Unknown-hg4zo2 жыл бұрын
@@The-Branch I mean technically since someone wrote this it only effects foundation personal but it would be cool if it happened to everyone and the foundation was just ignorant of it do to it looking like evey day accidents or maybe the interdimentional force that caused it
@Spade13502 жыл бұрын
@@Unknown-hg4zo That is a solid argument, and I would agree the intent of the writer is clear here but if the Foundation had no evidence of it occurring to others, I have to assume they would write it up that way. Plus I think it would make for a pretty rad tale to have a case where some one who was in the process of being hired or considered was targetted, or a new hire mentioning this had happened to them before and the immediate "What did you just say" looks they would get for it. That being along the lines of it can target future applicants. Then you have a case where many fatal accidents of the past may have been people the Foundation would one day hire. The fact that it's unclear how they know only the Foundation is being targetted leaves that wiggle room in there for me. The Foundation can be arrogant at times.

And the number of instances implied by the report numbers is staggering: it's an all-out assault on the Foundation. Once the strength of the entities inside the anomaly can be judged maybe follow up with a 3-man task force and attempt a live capture.

My one and ONLY criticism (which isn't a huge deal) is that a Prius doesn't have gears like a traditional manual/automatic transmision they have an ecvt (continuous variable transmission) system which dynamically adjusts based on several variables. They're essentially constantly making micro adjustments to the drive ratio the entire time you're give it gas to provide the highest efficiency. That's why they get the crazy gas mileage they do! Again, it really isn't a big deal. Just a piece of information I had on hand that stuck out to me. 😅

The title of the video and descriptive language at the end makes me think the building is actually a massive organism, with the spotlights as bioluminescence and the door as its giant maw.

This idea is really interesting. The fact that this thing may be targeting SCP personal is really scary. It’s not to op ether which is always nice to see. And it’s also hilarious to me how some of the foundation members just kinda have a general of what not to do when in these scenarios.

Ok, I have a bit of a prejudice against SCPs greater than 4000, however there are some that are just so wonderful and fit right in with the others. Needless to say, this is one of them. The writing style reminds me a lot of the 3000s range in that it goes into a lot of detail and feels more like a book at times, but like, I love it.

Seems like angler fish are mentioned often in SCP documents
